What's more important to you? strength or Aesthetics?
also, post /fit/ animes pls
I'm personally a fan of strength, but I'm not going to gain 200 lbs and trade in aesthetics for it. That said, I'm not about to focus on hypertrophy and stay a weak shit just to look good.
Strength in solitude means gut, shit cardio, and a narrow minded vision on fitness
Aesthetic means you have to round yourself in strength, cardio, and low bodyfat. Aesthetic is much more athletic and worthwhile.
Both, to be strong and aesthetic. I don't know why people think you can only have one... are they unaware?
When I first started SS 3 weeks ago with no prior gym/lifting experience I started out benching 110kg, I'm at 125 now.
You're probably deluded. Whats your 1rm on your squat and deadlift?
Overall for strength, but i'll do a hypertrophy cycle in a few months, then back on to strength training
How long you been lifting? Unless you've been blessed with godlike genetics, you're gonna have to wait at least two years, maybe a little less if you're getting enough sleep and eating right, before you start looking like the dudes in inspiration threads. Or you can juice, up to you.
Literally nothing more /fit/ that JJBA. Everyone wishes that they had amazing Joestar Jenetics.
This desu, boardshorts had that 1000lbs club, he was plg and started test cycling when he was already big.
Most people at plg look big and lift really fucking heavy, even the natty ones. I know a couole of guys irl that are powerlifters and look quite good, there's this guy that is switching to BB and has started juicing to get cut, but he already got the mass.
I prefer strenght, but I'm not retarded. I just add acc lifts for hypertrophy.
>not believing the most important thing is being strong enough to defend any QT while also looking good
Aesthetics, show me one time short of a carefully described crisis I need to be wildly strong, being aesthetic you will be stronger than most weebs you see on the street anyway but the reverse is not true for strength as the multitude of fatty "powerlifters" on fit can show you
I was lifting for strength and got bored when I stalled. I recently started lifting for hypertrophy. However, if I could look super dyel and lift monster weights, I would because I think it's funny.
One is impressive to old men in a gym, gets you fat and unhealthy.
The other impresses the whole world, keeps you fit and healthy and builds discipline.
Gee, which one would I ever choose?
I've pretty much come to that conclusion, that most of the pple here are delusional about aesthetics and strength. I've always done mostly compounds and trained for strength, yet i look better than my friends who do BB stuff. I just have better genetics and i keep my bw between 10-15% all the time.
As long as you have genetically narrow hips and wide shoulders, you'll be aesthetic as long as you add muscle in some way. Its just funny to have a shoulder day, when your OHP is something like 1pl8.
I pretty much only do lateral raises, chin/pull ups and ab work aside squats, diddlys and bench/OHP
Its still not time for that IMO. Adding isolation will just fuck up my progression, and i'd rather add basic muscle mass as long as i can. When i start to read advanced+ lifts, i will need more accessory work to progress, and at that point those lagging muscles will follow up.
People are delusional about this too. Thinking that you really need accessory and isolation before you even reach some serious muscle mass.
Strength, but I only value it a certain amount over aesthetics like, I'm not the type who would put on a lot of extra fat just because it meant I would have more muscle underneath like really heavyweight powerlifters do or even just putting on a ton of muscle or anything.
Also I'm going to dump some anime I really enjoyed that I think is /fit/. It's pretty subjective but I'll do my best.
>Doing compounds that involve more technique and leverage abuse than actual strength
>Jerk and explosively lift said weight without focusing on the muscle
Oh why oh why are you not getting swole?
Kuroko's Basketball/Kuroko no Basuke/Kuroko no Basket
Well I had a 105kg bench, 157.5kg squat and 180kg deadlift at 70kg 5'10.
Not expecting to be swole mang, but I'm literally full on DYEL.
Oh well, bulking at the moment so gonna get strong as fuck.
Free! (Normally I wouldn't include this since it's not so much focused on the sport, training, and intensity as it is drama but it's one of my favorites, everyone is super cut, and it's really gay which I think is /fit/ appropriate.)
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (Not about sports or muscles but my favorite anime of all time and it's inspirational and hot-blooded so I think that's good enough.)
6'2", 185 lbs
I'm DYEL to /fit/ standards, but normies and grills find me good looking either way. All compounds by the way
Grappler baki it's ridiculous but in a good way
lol this lowtest 60 year old deadbeat flexing so hard after his resistance band pump
It's taken me almost 2+ years but I can manage 1pl8 OHP, 3pl8 squat, 4pl8 deadlift moved off the ground but I couldn't clear the knees. I still need a little more for 2pl8 bench.
Anyways, i've been on SL, ICF, Madcow, C6W for my for these 2+ years and I didn't start seeing real aesthetic gains until Madcow/C6W.
I'm thinking of switching to PPL after I hit a 2pl8 bench/4pl8 dead.
Read it first, watch old anime second, movies third/last
And why not both strength and aesthetics
Incline bench, yeah
There's a video of him doing 50kg/hand dumbbell flat bench so it's safe to assume his flat bench would be 110kg+
1:10 for dumbbell
Upper body strength, lower body aeatherics.
Seriously, look at >>35600033
I have no goddamn idea how your average man can NOT weigh 190+, and all these idiots who go "omigod like I need to cut because I'm a little girl" are just...
I'm 6' and just a hair under 200. Yeah, I don't have the best definition in the world, but on the other hand I hardly look thick. I've got some vasc going on in the arms and legs. Mostly though? I'd say I look only a bit more built than what I'd consider "normal". So guys my age and size who weigh something like 150-170, and can't bench >200 for reps... I'm sorry, are your muscles made out of marshmallows or what?
currently lifting 325lbs on squats and diddlies ( I know deadlifts are supposed to be higher but I fucked up an progressed too fast.) 200lb bench. This is from about 2 months of SL. I run in the mornings on workout days and I'm looking juicy. holla at that, isolations are for mexicans and punjabi pajeets
How the fuck do people progress so fast on SL? I started last Feb and switched to madcow in July and have been stuck at 180 bench, 220 squat, and 230 diddles for months. Do I have low test or something?
I'm 6'0 ,are you tall? do you skip workouts? Form check?
maybe your mental game is weak.
I have a tiny bit of high school background in strength training so that might help a little.
It's none of these, the missing component is food. Guaranteed. Eat if you want to get strong, and by that I mean be in a caloric surplus every single day, 500 over maintenance
I just want to be BIG, I don't care if I have ripped up abs
I mean big and strong, want to get up to 275lbs at 6'5
It's not food because I've gotten fat twice over the year, I weigh and track everything I eat with very few cheats and have missed maybe 5 days of lifting total (injury/sickness/finals)
I just KNOW from the artstyle that the img is from some gay manga or something like that so, spit it anon, source?
>no prior gym/lifting
sound like one fatass in my gym, came there to lose weight, after 1 week of doing cardio he stopped and start weight training, withing 3 week of benching 4 times week he benched 100kg easily for reps. still weight 150kg and look like shit.
Physical fitness. I started lifting to lose weight and look better, but also because I wanted to be able to DO more. I want to take up rock climbing as a hobby, and I won't be capable of doing much but diddling my dick if I don't keep working on myself.
This could be believable. I think powerlifter Brett Gibbs said when he first stepped into a gym at 16 or something he benched like 120kgs (it was that, 100 or 140). Benches like 200 now
Personally, about 6 months of pushups and home shit, first time I stepped into the gym my max was 30 and now I'm still struggling to hit 100. Stuck on about 95kgs for a 1rm :(
Is this what /fit/ actually believes? I stopped lurking the misc years ago because of this bullshit and now it seems like /fit/ hasn't evolved much beyond this bro mentality either
>Mentaiko, well-known yaoi bara artist, as the OP image
I'm dying, /fit/ continues being the gayest board. Thank God.
Strength is just useless, no matter what you fat squat pigs say. Its just for ugly fatasses that can't train hard but sit on their ass for +5 minutes after every set. You're just jealous because pple who train for aesthetics look better, get all the girls and can eat like normal people
You guys just dont have what it takes, you can never be part of our legacy fuaaark, keep forever mirin' haha
>mfw tempura sushi
>Lift for strength
>End up with little more than otter-mode with above-average lifts
>Buddy is much stronger but looks like skinny fat dyel
>Feel like I'm lying to everyone with my body.
>That I don't deserve my body with what little strength I have
