what's your plank PR?

Just did it for 1:45, thought I was going to collapse
>>
if you werent going to collapse then why did you stop?
>>
>>35594217
1:45?
I've not lifted for 3 months due to injury and didn't even have great stats and I did 3 mins

3:04. Till collapse, fella.
>>
Once you can do a minute is it better to add weight or increase the time?
>>
I do it until Snapback Backsnap. Get on my level.
>>
>>35594300
I like to do both, but I might wait till 2-3 minutes before adding weight. One of the great aspects of a real long plank is the mental benefit of pushing yourself at an intensity and duration that other exercises won't recreate.
>>
>>35594277
It's a lot easier if you haven't been lifting because the parts you hold up are light as a feather
>>
a minute with 45kgs on my back
>>
>>35594217
1min. Hate them with a passion.
>>
3mins

Impresive. Now I gotta try.
>>
>>35594482
thanks bruh
been doing them weighted for like 1.5 year. started with 10kgs. its very easy to progress at first, i think you could get to about 30kgs in a month or something. get at it m80, its great to do it at the end of a workout, real killer
>>
>>35594217
1:20, first try

fuck those.
>>
>>35594217
Used to be about 5 mins tops but I got bored
>>
6 min.
ROTC. We do a lot of push ups/front leaning rest/planks in pt
>>
>>35594217
I did it for 3-4 minutes when I was in the army. That was a painful experience.

Average, and my personal PR without fear of failure is 2:15
>>
PR'd at a little over 10 minutes once, but I was full hungry skele back then. Probably more like 5 or 6 now
>>
>>35594217
4:30

The first 4 minutes were ez, the last 30 seconds felt like being raped by a thousand niggers at once. No other exercise scales up the pain like planks do.
>>
2 minute with 20 kg on back. Will aim for 1 minute with 30 kg next time and +10 sec every workout.

Where should the plate be rested exactly? i usually put the lower end of the plate just where my boxer ends, but maybe should go higher.
>>
I don't believe you guys. Form must be bad if you claim over 3,minutes. You have to squeeze your glutes and abs, flat back
>>
7:23 during track where we did planks every day. There was a contest because one of the coaches found $20 on the ground, said whoever could plank the longest got the cash. Didn't win.

Truth is, you are just really fucking bad at it.
>>
2 min.

But if I do them consecutively through out a week I develop pins and needles in my upper spine.

Guess it's a side effect from being 6'4''
>>
I held a plank for 1min with a 100lb plate on my back

wat
>>
>>35596913
it basically means trying to round your lower back slightly is the best way I can describe it. People tend to cheat the hell out of planks and are super hyper extended while doing them which makes them much easier.
>>
4 minutes. Could've gone much further. I do a crunch superset that ENDS with 3 sets of planks; 2 minutes each. Pussies.
>>
BOYS
I love planking, can currently hit 3:30. I want to be able to plank for more than 15:00 at a time, but I can't find any sort of a training program, advice, guidelines, nothing like that online.

can someone please help me achieve my goal?
>>
I did 26.4 minutes
I did 40 seconds and calculated how much % of the max I can stand was and determined it was only 4% thus 26.4 minutes is my max
>>
>>35596550
Pretty comfy story to me for some reason
>>
six minutes if allowed to alternate between side planks and regular planks. I'll do a straight session, doing a minute each. It kills.
>>
had a comp in highschool rowing.

2 kids made it to 10 minutes (they were both 17)
>>
>>35594401

Kettlebell or barbell weight?

Barbell weights are much easier I find. I've dome 70 seconds with 60kgs on my back. But a 24kg kettlebell is much tougher because the weight isn't distributed. (70s there too)
>>
>>35594217
At peak fitness, I managed one minute with a girl on ym back. I estimate she weighed around 50kg. Now, I can only do about 90s unweighted. Feels bad, man.

>THIS IS THE LEAST I CAN DO, AND THE DISCOMFORT I FEEL RIGHT NOW PALES IN COMPARISON TO THAT WHICH THEY'VE EXPERIENCED ON THE BATTLEFIELD -- TRUST ME WHEN I TELL YOU THAT.
Do you think his tone of voice comes from holding the plank for a few hours or would he normally say it that intensely.
>>
>>35597281
barbell plates. never thought of doing it with kettlebell. its gonna be a pain in the ass when i get to 55 kgs and will have to use 3 plates to get that weight
>>
>>35594324

wut

This gets you up to 5 minutes, but I don't think it should be too complicated, you just push your boundaries.
>>
>not being able to plank near indefinitely

What the fuck is wrong with you plebs? Plank position was our resting position back in high school wrestling. We looked forward to taking a break to plank while the coach yelled at us about mind over matter.
>>
Are planks worth it to incorporate or am i wasting my time?
>>
15:23 seconds. It was part of a competition, and it wasn't easy.

I could have gone a bit longer, but I won the competition, so why keep going when life was sucking long ago?
>>
I did a pretty long one once, best in my plutoon, though I lost to a guy in another. It was like 7 years ago or so, so I can remember exactly, I think it was around 10 minutes.
>>
>>35594217
ITT: skele general. Who the fuck talks about planking PRs? Srsly lads
>>
10 minutes but I don't really train it.
>>
>doing begginer excercises and tour not a begginer

Do some fucking back levers then jesus
>>
World record is 4 hours and 26 minutes, get your shit together you fucking casuals.
Can't plank for the duration it takes to drive across a small country? Fucking calling yourself /fit/, disgusting.
>>
>>35594217
stop wasting so much time and do them with more weight
