I'm going to guess you're a child but, still, I somewhat agree.

It's your body. You're free to do what you please but you should remember not everyone will feel the same. Also, it's usually a poor idea to get a tattoo that can't be covered up by a shirt and tie.

To refute your point (with anecdotal evidence), I was one of the few people in my group of friends at uni that didn't have a tattoo. Never had anything against them, I just never cared about anything enough to have it etched in my flesh. Now I'm in my late 20s working a job that's barely above minimum wage whilst they're what you would likely consider 'upper-middle' class.
