I'm looking to buy a digital scale to weigh my meals. What do you recommend that is fairly accurate under $40?
>inb4 autism for measuring meals
So I need to be at a calorie deficit to lose weight, but being at a calorie deficit will also prevent me from gaining muscle.
I'm obese. Should I be on a deficit for fat loss or should I be taking in more calories for muscle gain?
lmao if youre a fatty fat fat you have extra energy in your fat stores. Lifting weights burns calories, eating at a deficit burns calories. 1+1 =2. lifting weights also builds muscel, now are you going to gain as much as a hungry skele eating over his TDEE, prolly not since your body is burning fat for energy but you will likeley still get some. Drop the fat first, friend.
Is it a waste of time to workout while fasting?
I lost 20 pounds last year by eating nothing but pic related for 20 days. I've kept the weight off the since then, despite a less than great diet.
I'm severely skinnyfat. I've never had any bf% measured, but I'm going to guesstimate it's relatively high, at least 25% maybe more. The issue is that I'm very low weight, like I cannot justifiably lose anymore weight. How do I remedy this situation? I'm afraid to bulk in case I just get even flabbier.
I've got a wrist injury, wearing a brace now but may have to do surgery if it doesn't improve any further. Kinda bummed out because I can't really lift besides training legs. What can I do to stay fit in the meantime?
I've somehow reached an intense level of skinnyfat where I am low weight but high fat. I'm at BMI 16, which is medically underweight, but I am absolutely positive I have high bf% because I look 20+ lbs heavier than I am (according to others, not myself) and have a visible gut, lovehandles, rolls, and a lot of cellulite. I have no idea wtf happened to be honest, I thought losing weight = losing fat but it's like I somehow lost weight without losing fat.
what will happen if i work out but i dont eat enough food? im on dexamphetamine so its way to hard to try and eat 2000+ cals every day. i dont work out at all now and im very very weak, i just want to be normal again, being able to run so i wont miss the train and lift boxes when moving. will it help at all working out even when i eat too little?
Nope, I used to be slightly chubby for my height I think, or at least like higher end of average, so I decided I'd eat less to try to lose weight. I lost 30 lbs to skelly weight but it's fucking abysmal, I did not lose a single inch on my stomach. I look almost exactly the same, a couple of my lifter friends can't believe it. I wear the same size in everything, no part of me looks bony or skelly at all. I'm just a blob of fat pretty much.
B-but I thought calories in calories out? I definitely did eat way more carbs than protein but I didn't think it mattered.
I'm too embarrassed tbqh. I look gross.
What's a good accessory exercise for lower back / core strength? Repeated back injury is preventing me from squatting heavy.
My bench has stalled. What are some good chest exercises to supplement? I've determined my weak point is triceps so I'm focusing on them but I need some good supplementary chest exercises. I was thinking cable flies.
Any cheap ass digital scale like the first reply in this thread mentioned will already work BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE DON'T BREAK YOUR SCALE THEY'RE VERY SENSITIVE LIKE ANYTHING OVER 3 POUNDS
>I'm too embarrassed tbqh. I look gross.
Do it breh
protein bruh, helps burn fat and of course build muscle. read harsh's wiki
unrelated, how much of harsh's wiki is actually reliable? it still has the 1g protein/lb meme and wants me to eat 1550 kcal for maintenance.
>What do you recommend that is fairly accurate under $40?
I recommend following the advice given:
>just any thing on amazon thats 20 bucks will fucking work. literally just type in "kitchen scale" and just buy the most reviewed one
I might add that from NewEgg you can get a Rosewill Electronic High Precision "Stain Gauge" Sensor Kitchen Scale, Silver - Limited time offer, ends 1/31 By Rosewill Superstore - for $11.99 delivered.
I have been using this $9.27 Rosewill scale since 2012 for weighing all my food and it just works,
Protein is fucking important bruh. Get those meats and beans in your belly. There isnt really a need for protein powder, just eat meat and beans for one meal a day and you will have enough protein to retain and build muscle while you lose fat.
I have protein powder nearly every day even when I don't exercise just to meet my macros. Then this DYEL skinny dude decided he was an expert on protein after watching a documentary and went on at me about how protein shakes should only be consumed after a workout to fix torn muscles. I explained that protein helps you break down fat as well as build muscle, that I was calorie counting and that I knew what I was doing. He insisted I go watch this documentary.
I like having a shake on my days off. Is there any point to consuming them on off-days or is the DYEL dude right about only being necessary after workouts?
I use this one from kitchen stuff plus, $20 on sale.
works perfectly except i wish the numbers would stay up longer.
Type 1 Diabetic, Does it matter when I take insulin or is there a sweet spot, like after lifting?
Also can someone recommend a beginner hypertrophy routine?
Eat Smart Pro

- Tare function
- gram precision
- 11kg total capacity (those pyrex measuring cups are pretty heavy-- keep max cap in mind if you need to weigh them.)
- Cost about $20.00
