lmao if youre a fatty fat fat you have extra energy in your fat stores. Lifting weights burns calories, eating at a deficit burns calories. 1+1 =2. lifting weights also builds muscel, now are you going to gain as much as a hungry skele eating over his TDEE, prolly not since your body is burning fat for energy but you will likeley still get some. Drop the fat first, friend.

Is it a waste of time to workout while fasting?
I lost 20 pounds last year by eating nothing but pic related for 20 days. I've kept the weight off the since then, despite a less than great diet.

I've somehow reached an intense level of skinnyfat where I am low weight but high fat. I'm at BMI 16, which is medically underweight, but I am absolutely positive I have high bf% because I look 20+ lbs heavier than I am (according to others, not myself) and have a visible gut, lovehandles, rolls, and a lot of cellulite. Nope, I used to be slightly chubby for my height I think, or at least like higher end of average, so I decided I'd eat less to try to lose weight. I lost 30 lbs to skelly weight but it's fucking abysmal, I did not lose a single inch on my stomach. I look almost exactly the same, a couple of my lifter friends can't believe it. I wear the same size in everything, no part of me looks bony or skelly at all. I'm just a blob of fat pretty much.

Protein is fucking important bruh. Get those meats and beans in your belly. There isnt really a need for protein powder, just eat meat and beans for one meal a day and you will have enough protein to retain and build muscle while you lose fat.

I have protein powder nearly every day even when I don't exercise just to meet my macros. Then this DYEL skinny dude decided he was an expert on protein after watching a documentary and went on at me about how protein shakes should only be consumed after a workout to fix torn muscles. I explained that protein helps you break down fat as well as build muscle, that I was calorie counting and that I knew what I was doing. He insisted I go watch this documentary.

I like having a shake on my days off. Is there any point to consuming them on off-days or is the DYEL dude right about only being necessary after workouts?
