Fitness is being in the best shape for your environment.
So fitness to a power lifter will be strength in the big 3. Fitness to the bodybuilder will be to have as much muscle and least fat(basically) and so on. If a bodybuilder can climb a rope that means he entered a new field of fitness he doesnt really care about. It means nothing that he cant do that desu.
Most people could go their whole lives without ever running or jogging. Unless you are being chased and HAVE to run or chasing someone, you will almost never have to run. And by that logic, lifting can actually help in jobs (construction, moving) whole there are almost no professions that need running that don't fall under entertainment or sports.
