In general there is no way to "spot burn" fat. You just decrease globally and your body pulls it from where it wills. Men tend to store fat in the abdominal region, women in the thighs and ass. You just need to reduce calories- cardio is good for health but not really as important as diet for weight loss.
The only exception to this is drinking alcohol. In that quantity (6 per day) studies have found associations with increased abdominal fat distribution. So drinking actually seems to cause beer belly, it's not just an old wive's tale.

Maybe consider becoming less bothered about the weight on the scale and care more about what you look like in the mirror.
Obviously on SS you'll gain some muscle and you'll think 'shit i'm not losing as much weight' but in actual fact you're still losing fat, just gaining a small amount of muscle because you're a novice.

I work in a school, have a forearm tattoo and my uniform (caretaker, not teacher) means a short sleeved top, no one gives a fuck. Shit, I've even had other teachers compliment it, think the head may even have done so.
I mean, I plan on being a judge eventually. By the time I would be able to get myself into that sort of position, I think tattoos will be so commonplace and acceptable that I won't even have to cover them.
