Run was going great. Met QTπ running partner for a nice relaxed 4miler. With my way to the meeting point and back, it was about 6 miles.
Half an hour of stretching afterwards, overall a nice rest day.

On an unrelated note, however, Farah does fairly high weight (200 lb) squats and deadlifts at low reps to improve his power-output.

You're posting athletes that have shaped their bodies like that -literally- on purpose through hundreds of miles per week of training to be proficient at their sport.

A little recreational running is good for athleticism and general fitness.

It doesn't have to be jogging. Interval training, hill sprints, prowler, hilly trail running, etc.

I'm assuming you're neither an athlete (at any sport) nor are you significantly proficient at weight training.

I agree. Paul McMullen was a great mid-distance runner for the US for a while. He was also one of the largest (tallest/heaviest) to run as fast as he did.

Functional bodies are always better looking than playthings like Zyzz, IMO.

I'd argue that those that improve their conditioning through activity-conducive cardio will have better strength gains in the long run (pun).

Good work capacity and proper GPP are underrated.
