If he's hit puberty, let him lift weights in the 12-15 rep range. His strength and size will grow hugely just from that, considering he's pumped full of hormones. It'll also be light enough to keep from injury and premature growth plate fusion. He'll learn the lifts, and get a decent enough base so when he's more mature, he can start with lower rep ranges in a more developed body.
Do high reps and tell him not to push himself too much. Make sure he gets his form perfect.
And probably no supplements. Even light stuff like caffeine or creatine. Substances affect kids differently and could cause long term problems
