So, how many kilometers a day do you run, /fit/?
I'm planning to run 1km tomorrow for the first time ever. Wish me luck I guess.

Also how accurate is mapmyrun?

quit running to bulk up for the winter. in the fall I was running 4-7 miles per day 4 days a week. Got my 5k to around 25 mins, 10k to 55. gunna absolutely destroy those times once I start running again in the spring, and look way better doing it.

1km is like Track & Field distance, anon. You should be aiming for at least 1.5mi (2.4). Building lung capacity/oxygen delivery system efficiency is more important than leg strength, especially for people that are /fit/. That means jogging a steady, moderate pace for a longer distance over more time, versus a sprint-like run over a short time.

Understood, but like I said I never ran in my life so I don't know what I can actually do. I'm not 'aiming for' 1km, I'm going to try to run 1km tomorrow and based on what you guys are saying it doesn't seem too hard.

Thanks anon. That really helped actually. I didn't mention it yet but I'm actually afraid that I might encounter people and that's why I'm going to do it at 10 am or so because there may be less people then. I don't even know why I'm afraid someone might see me. But those words really helped me somehow. I'll definitely do it, no pussying out this time.

You're a human being, it's a completely instinctual fear of doing something you don't ordinarily do, or see other people do. You just have to move past it. Once you've ran a dozen times or so it will be gone.

I was almost up to 5k doing c25k but stopped over winter because I had to take a months break then never got back into it. Feels bad man. Will be doing it again soon though.

All the writing about exercise and nutrition is hilarious because it was obviously written by some idiot jap who has never done any of that shit. Who runs 16km each day AND does a daily calisthenics routine? When exactly would you rest? Also the game says he only eats 2k cals a day. No wonder he weighs 65kg fucking wet at 178cm, I guess.

Anyway, just fucking run anon. Run until you can't run anymore, then stop. Go again tomorrow and run at least as far as you did before. There you go, you will now make progress.

Six years ago I could get up and run a half-marathon on a whim. I stopped exercising due to work though & lost all my stamina. Started weightlifting a couple years ago to get back in shape, but still couldn't run for shit.

I've been following Couch to 5k at the end of my workouts & I'm seeing purely linear progression in distance traveled per 20 minutes. It has a lot of similarities to marathon training, but on a smaller scale. Definitely recommend it to anybody who actually wants to run at a decent pace for 30 minutes.
