So, how many kilometers a day do you run, /fit/?
I'm planning to run 1km tomorrow for the first time ever. Wish me luck I guess.
Also how accurate is mapmyrun?
quit running to bulk up for the winter. in the fall I was running 4-7 miles per day 4 days a week. Got my 5k to around 25 mins, 10k to 55. gunna absolutely destroy those times once I start running again in the spring, and look way better doing it.
Were you guilted into exercising by some anime video game? That's hilarious! But if you weigh less than 500lbs you should jog/run more than only 1km. Make it at least 3km at a slower pace so you know what it's like to put *some* effort into exercise.
lol the way you talk reminds me of like that annoying snobby girl you always see in hentais.
like the one who makes fun of the protaganist a lot, and then gets really mad when he compliments her or some shit and calls him a baka.
Um, no. It guilted me into running. Also I've never ran in my life so I don't know how much effort is needed and decided to start with 1km. I'll probably be exhausted from just that anyway.
I don't watch hentai so I wouldn't know about that type of girl. I don't know what a baka is either. I sound hot though.
running=exercise, so the answer is yes, you were guilted. Again, hilarious but at least something will get you out of the chair.
>first week of couch to 5k
>do first week's runs over three consecutive days
I know I'm an idiot for doing what I did. Do I really have to stop exercising for two weeks until my leg pain stops (like some websites tell me)? Will substituting runs with cycling work in the meantime? How do I stop shin splints in the future?
Usually 4-6 miles like twice a week.
Muscle failure on tuesday and Thursdays and road March on Wednesday. Every damn week, muscle failure is usually crossfit stuff too, I hate crossfit. Why army.
Did 6mi (9.6km) last week, pretty shitty.
Aiming for 8-10mi (12.8-16km) this week.
1km is like Track & Field distance, anon. You should be aiming for at least 1.5mi (2.4). Building lung capacity/oxygen delivery system efficiency is more important than leg strength, especially for people that are /fit/. That means jogging a steady, moderate pace for a longer distance over more time, versus a sprint-like run over a short time.
Understood, but like I said I never ran in my life so I don't know what I can actually do. I'm not 'aiming for' 1km, I'm going to try to run 1km tomorrow and based on what you guys are saying it doesn't seem too hard.
Depending on how I do tomorrow I'll see what I'm aiming for.
Mfw resting heart rate is 55 and I weigh 56kg
I swim almost all day evrry day plus gym and other sports
but I cannot run for SHIT. I cant even do 1 mile, never been able to. I get painful stitches or I need to pee or get a headache. Its never just easy. Why me ;_;
My nigger I love this shit
The juice also motivated me to get /fit/, but I decided to lift primarily instead of running like him
Who gives a shit if you were "guilted" or not, this jap porn shit got me to where I am now so fuck it
Never understood while people used running plans like C25K. Seriously. go back to Elementary school where they would tell you to run a fucking mile out of nowhere.
My school did that, and all of the fat kids were dying at the end, but best believe the teachers stood there all hour and waited for them.
Translate that shit into adulthood. Go run a mile. Don't think, don't puss out. Just do it. And then do it again tomorrow. Faster.
Running is easy. Don't make it difficult.
>Go run a mile. Don't think, don't puss out. Just do it. And then do it again tomorrow. Faster.
Thanks anon. That really helped actually. I didn't mention it yet but I'm actually afraid that I might encounter people and that's why I'm going to do it at 10 am or so because there may be less people then. I don't even know why I'm afraid someone might see me. But those words really helped me somehow. I'll definitely do it, no pussying out this time.
> I don't even know why I'm afraid someone might see me.
You're a human being, it's a completely instinctual fear of doing something you don't ordinarily do, or see other people do. You just have to move past it. Once you've ran a dozen times or so it will be gone.
You're right anon, I never ran and never see people run. It'll probably go away like you said. Thanks again.
And now I'll be going to sleep. Thanks everyone. I'll check the thread tomorrow if it stays alive. Maybe I'll make another running thread in the future.
I played this game after I picked up running for a few months.
All the writing about exercise and nutrition is hilarious because it was obviously written by some idiot jap who has never done any of that shit. Who runs 16km each day AND does a daily calisthenics routine? When exactly would you rest? Also the game says he only eats 2k cals a day. No wonder he weighs 65kg fucking wet at 178cm, I guess.
Anyway, just fucking run anon. Run until you can't run anymore, then stop. Go again tomorrow and run at least as far as you did before. There you go, you will now make progress.
Six years ago I could get up and run a half-marathon on a whim. I stopped exercising due to work though & lost all my stamina. Started weightlifting a couple years ago to get back in shape, but still couldn't run for shit.
I've been following Couch to 5k at the end of my workouts & I'm seeing purely linear progression in distance traveled per 20 minutes. It has a lot of similarities to marathon training, but on a smaller scale. Definitely recommend it to anybody who actually wants to run at a decent pace for 30 minutes.
Yeah, and in the scene in the OP pic it says Makina can't do one sit up. I don't think that's possible but whatever, they won't research diet and exercise before making a vn. Also where does it say he eats 2k calories?
