Hey /fit/ let's have a skin care thread.
Does anyone have any idea what was used in this video:
What kind of mask made his pores push out the sebum so good?
bump for this because I'm interested too. I have these black heads on my nose and no matter how hard I squeeze or what masks I use I can't get these fuckers out. I've even tried using those black head tools and nothing.
Trying to figure it out, I clicked the "translate button" below the comments on the YouTube video OP linked to.
luls ensued, but no clues
>no I'm not tired, you cunt
how do I fix pic related?
OP here guys, I found something that seems to be the product from the video and it's called "blackhead off sheet"
It seems to be an asian thing, so it's probably hard to aquire.
I'm researching to find out what's in it so that I can figure out if its a scam or not
It's caused by fluid build up from allergies. I asked my doctor about it and he gave me some stuff that cleared it right up.
If you still have dark li es under your eyes then you probably need more biotin and carritin (sp) in your system
OP here again.
I managed to find an ingredient list, and searched every ingredient with queries like "<substance> skin care" or "<substance> pore cleansing" and similar
Basically, it's a mix of
1) Surficants - these make your sebum soluble in water
2) Small amount of water to dissolve the sebum
3) Astringents - these tighten your pores so they push out the dissolved sebum.
You can probably mix toghether the same thing from essential oils and common household chemicals, heres the full ingredinet list

hope i helped
He might have spelled it wrong but it's basically a micronutrient that is abundant in carrots and sweet potatos. Beta caratine?
I have those bags under my eyes and I just found out I have allergies. I got a steroid like nasal spray prescribed. Will this clear up my eyes?
yeah I know, but I live in thirdworldistan and most internet shops don't ship to my shithole of a country hence I was searching for an ingredient list so I can look for substitutes.
Sure, the middle you can razor it if you have a precision-razor. But for the edge you need to pluck.
But for your own sake, find a guide so you don't end up looking like a tard. There's a certain symmetry needed for people to accept plucked brows as natural-looking.
I'm lucky enough to have my gf take care of my eyebrows, Social grooming is the ultimate tfwgf
It's not about the amount of force, it's about where you apply the pressure.
Also trim your nails, round the upper edge slightly, and get a blackhead remover.
Same as sex: wash your hands before and after.
tfw Christmas shopping with mom and you persuade her to buy and let you use skincare products early and she pays for everything
just copped some neutrogena bp, alpha hydrox mandelic acid, elta md sunscreen, and Paula's choice salicylic acid
I've been giving the oil cleansing method a try, and overall it seems to be working pretty nicely. I've never had much acne besides blackheads on my nose, so it's the primary reason I gave it a go. I've been using it once a week for 2 weeks now and have noticed that I do still have some black heads, but no where near as visible as before, especially the following days after I do the oil cleanse.
I struggled for ages with oily skin and large pores on my nose filled with sebacious filaments and gunk...
Finally started following a regime for oily skin and it's been working really quite well so far.
In the morning I just use some lukewarm/tepid water and very gently wet and massage my face to get off any grime from sleeping. Then I moisturise with a gel moisturiser and use some sun screen on top.
At night I wash with a really gentle cleanser, exfoliate with these red stridex bha pads and then moisturise again with the gel.
About two weeks in now and all my pores have shrunk considerably. I also go most of the day with hardly any oil building up on my nose where as before I would have an oil slick on my face 20 minutes after showering.
I think just water rinsing in the mornings and using the gel moisturiser have been the most key things. The oil and gunk was probably all being caused by being too rough with my face, overwashing and then blocking up all my shit with a thick cream moisturiser better suited to really dry skin.
No you idiot
Keratin (/ˈkɛrətJn/) is a family of fibrous structural proteins. Keratin is the key structural material making up the outer layer of human skin. It is also the key structural component of hair and nails.
So I used to have some really, really bad acne. I started using the acne.org regimen, and about 90% of my acne went away, which is great. However, I'm wondering what I should do about that last 10%. Additionally, my skin is pretty red and can get pretty oily, and my skintone is very uneven.
Anyone have any recommendations? I'm currently looking into tea tree oil.
Might catch some shit but reddit has a really good board on skincare that pretty thoroughly breaks down the best regime for each skin type and recommends the best and most cost effective products.
Really helped me out after years of frustration.
What exfoliator and what cream?
Something I recently learned is that moisturisers come in different types for different skins. If your skin is oily you don't want to use a cream you need to use a gel. This really helped with my oil production which, in turn, has helped shrink my pores because they're no longer filling themselves with sebum like crazy.
Also physical exfoliators like scrubs are not good in any way. They're a waste of time for everyone. They basically damage the hell out of your skin and if your skin is oily and delicate they're just going to make everything so much worse.
Chemical exfoliation is the answer. Oily skin means BHA exoliators. I use stridex red pads. They're for people with acne but they really help with my skin. They're basically little cotton pads soaked in this solution. You gently wipe them around the face after washing and it gets in there and dissolves all the gunk in your pores and all the dead skin on your face without physically scrubbing anything and tearing up your skin.
The key is really to be gentle. If I overwash my face even slightly the oil goes mad.
Also, when you dry your face, pat it dry with a towel. Don't rub your face with anything essentially. Massage very lightly but thoroughly with the finger tips when cleansing.
You might never have perfect tiny pores like some people but mine were fucking huge and now they're very small and clean so there's hope for you yet.

Try using astringent and use this stud called roc on your face. Roc is an anti aging cream and it has been shown to clear skin from breakouts. I've been using i on my face for a the past couple of days and it's been working wonders
in my experience, i can't completely deal with blackheads on my nose, but just exfoliate the shit out of your nose with some exfoliating scrub and like a toothbrush every day, sometimes twice a day if you're prone to dry skin and lots of dead skin on your face.
drink ~2-3L water a day and dont touch your face that much
Here's my routine
In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now.
After I remove the icepack, I use a deep pore-cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water-activated gel cleanser, then a honey-almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub.
Then I apply an herb mint facial masque which I leave on for ten minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine.
I always use an after-shave lotion with little or no alcohol because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm, followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion
How to fix keratosis pilaris? I tried exfoliated a lot and with diferent products and it dont work
Most of the Shit in there is wax. There's also usually some keratin because skin and they're in hair follicles. Sometimes the wax becomes hard and won't come out as easily, or too much keratin and it holds together too well, or something like a cyst is keeping it enlarged within the pore. Root cause can be any number of things.
You haven't got bags, that's pigmentation. I would lose some weight, get on some topical vitamin A with a nice mild AHA and BHA cleanser and sunscreen, and sort the eyebrows out. That will make you look 200 times better at least. You got nice cheek bones but too much fat on the cheeks to see them right.
BHA. They're lipid soluble so penetrate the wax comedone by dissolving in there and make the plug more pliable and dissolvable. Tea tree oil does something similar.
A god tier astringent for shrinking the pores and pushing shit out is witch hazel, and it can look worse than that video sometimes.
I used to watch these all the time in middle/highschool. I think that by looking at the gross and macabre we prepare ourselves for unpleasant stuff in our future that we might not be able to avoid.
grooming is in our genes, we derive pleasure from cleaning oneself and others so we can protect them and shit.
also a really important social tool, people underestimate the power of grooming yourself and loved ones.
i have bad skin genes from my mother. she has huge pores too. nothing i can do
i wash my face with water in the morning and with water in the evening. in the evening i rub it with a rough towel and apply teatreeoil on it afterwards. never touch my face during the day
i take zinc supplements and omega 3
every 3 days i can pop all my pores, mostly around and on my nose and i get pic related out of it. my body never stops producing that shit
i never eat candy. all i eat is rice, meat, dairy vegetables etc. i drink 4 litres of tap water every day
>used to wash my face with soap
>get horrible breakouts all over my forehead
>stop washing my face completely
>very rarely get a single pimple
>think "hey, haven't washed my face in a while, I should"
>immediately get a horrible breakout again the next day
soap is the devil, man
i used to never wash my face with soap and the days i do its usually important and i break out horrible
now i only wipe my face off with my shirt during the day and the only time i really wash is in the shower and never any other time
to the faggots in here saying
>just wash you face and don't eat junk food.
fuck. you. so. hard. If only it were that easy. My teenage years were ruined by acne. I'd wash my face regularly, drink water, take antibiotics, etc. and nothing worked. My face was so oily that I found an old pillow case from my teens (over 6 years ago) and it was discolored from the oil from my skin staining it. It look like parts of the case were dipped in water.
dude, acne in teenage years are expected. your body is a chemical vat of hormones.
if someone here is at the end of teenage period (or in the middle of it) you need to know that you need to tough it out now, and it does get better later on. Liife as a teenager sucks balls compared to what comes after it.
maybe. post your skin
just took these pictures before i treat my face with a towel again
how else am i going to clean the pores from all that dirt
you seem to be relatively inflammation free - as in there are no big red mayonaisse factories on your face. That is very good and it means that bacteria are in check and that your sebum production is not triggered by a skin problem but rather a hormonal/diet related issue
I also notice that you do not have a lot of facial hair. How old are you? If you are in your teens this could be just a phase.
>there are no big red mayonaisse factories on your face
never have been
>hormonal related issue
i can only fight this from within
zinc and omega 3 supplements dont stop it, but make my skin less oily
>you do not have a lot of facial hair
i am 24
okay at 24 for men it's still possible that you're having a puberty hormone remnants. It might solve itself over the next few years.
If it does not however, I'd reccomend you look into controlling (as in lowering) your DHT levels. Beware that DHT levels can be manipulated in many ways, some of which (alpha-5-reductase) appear to not affect the follicles activity. There are drugs and supplements that can help you in this case
One other cause could be insulin resistance (or in severre form type 2 diabetes) and this is usually managed with exercise and diet. Just look for insuline resistance diets, they are very popular atm.
Best of luck anon.
thanks for the replies, you seem to know what youre talking about
do you think a walk to the skin doctor can help? as in can he prescribe me stuff that kills the sebum production from the inside?
seeing a doctor is always a good idea (seeing more than one is even better). Since you don't have problems with skin infections and such, I think it would be more productive to visit an endocrinologist (hormone and gland guy) rather than a dermatologist.
also, I'm glad to help but just to remind you that you should do your due diligence with all info you get on 4chan
The stories and information posted here are artistic works of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact.
"puberty" is an umbrella term which we use to refer to a lot of changes in a person's body upon reaching sexual maturity (gaining the ability to have children)
Broadly speaking it ends when your dick stops growing, but in reality some of your sub-systems can still be adapting to the new levels of hormones as long as until 25 years old.
No it's not. The cause of the problem is you were too young to care about it when you were younger and NOW you see the result.
It took me almost a year of constant attention to completely clear my nose
those things are a genetic lottery anyways, so pay no attention to people judging you on things you have no say over.
But yeah, for men, development stops sometime between 17 to 25 years old.
accu-fucking-tane It is a miracle from almighty science. I spent years working with a "well known" derma with absolutely no progress. One month my face will be clear then next month it would be worse than ever. Finally I said fuck it! Ordered that shit from a reputable source and almost 4months later my face is consistently clear. Told my derma to fuck off...god damn jew.
For anyone still in this thread. A hot shower and a regular to small sized bobby pin tip works better than this. Just use a toner and moisturize after because its a little rough on your skin. Drag it all over your face, amazing what comes out
Never use saline nose sprays. Those shits are bad and give you awful rebound congestion. Use Nasacort AQ instead. It's OTC and a corticosteroid if you really do rub under your eyes due to allergies
nasal sprays are great if you have really bad congestion and can't sleep because of it. I'll use them to sleep and then deal with the rebound the next day while I'm awake.
Seriously, when I discovered 4Way it was like a damn miracle. It dazzles me every time how I'll go from completely unable to breathe to "it's like I'm not even sick".
after you shower and your pores are all open and shit, grab a towel or some shit (I use my briefs) and squeeze that shit out
the pores will be all loose cuz of the hot shower, making it really easy to scrape everything out
downside is your pores will be left all open
Why is it so pleasant for me to watch things comming out from holes?
I got prescribed 6 months of accutane for mild acne on one cheek, but it also cleared my nose blackheads permanently.
>Took it for 8 months and my acne came back as soon as I stopped
Relapse after one course is common, you're supposed to go on a second course.
I myself have tried everything accutane worked great for like 1 year then they slowly came back never as much as before but still only 1 thing has worked for me, eating only meat fish vegtables fruit no dairy grains etc sucks ass but acne sucks more fml
>Ex had a cute little nose
>Blackheads like crazy
>One day decide to bring it up
>She confused as fuck
>Doesn't know what I'm talking about
>Didn't know what blackheads where
>I have no idea what she thought those dots where
>She gets addicted to squeezing them
>Pops my back pimples while I play call of duty
>Blows me while I play call of duty
>She was not mommy material though too bad
>Pops my back pimples while I play call of duty
>Blows me while I play call of duty
I'm a fan of this stuff. Sloughs the dead skin off within seconds of you rubbing it on.
I can concur. Had terrible back and chest acne. Started 40 mg roaccutane per day. Acne went down with 80% with all the zits being tiny and barely visible from a distance.
A side effect was my black heads on my nose diminishing significantly.
fucking this all over. my mom's friend is a dermatologist and she says a huge cause of acne breakouts these days is overwashing. my skin is personally at its best when i have a healthy diet combined with only using water on my hair and face
well it seems like it's subsidised in new zealand
my gp is a bit of a cunt though, when i asked him for anything to deal with acne he just says 'its natural', and ive had acne since i was around 11 :(
Did four months of the highest possible dose of accutane when I was 16 years old. I used to have really bad cystic pimples that hurt like fuck and man everything came out all at once with that shit. However, four months later I was pimple free.
I'm 21 now and I don't really get pimples per say, only ingrown hairs in the neckbeard area.
This stuff was godsent man I would still be a virgin if I wouldnt have taken it
Might not be black heads but rather sebaceous filaments. You can't get rid of them, but maybe make them a bit smaller. AHA, BHA, vitamin C, cleaning with mineral oil and using a moisturiser.
can you share what products you use?
I'm not white but suffer from really oily skin, so if you can imagine it's super noticeable and the sebum on my nose has always made me a little insecure because i think it makes me look dirty/unkempt
Guis pls halp, I am pretty sure that my diet is at least 70% the reason I have bad skin, but I don't know how to change it because I am a really fussy eater kind of guy. Pic related, I eat around two thirds to a whole loaf of white bread nutella sandwiches a day.
Didn't have acne in my teen years, never had a blackhead in my life.
Damn it feels good to be a healthy white man.
I havent had any negative effects from it. I sought it out because I would hear that using strips/extracting the blackheads made pores bigger and what not, so i started the oil cleanse method because i wanted to see if it would work without just making the problem worse. I think i even had a condition called seborrhea on my nose which basically made my pores smell(garlic like smell for me, spanish here) and its helped with that even, so im happy af with it so far.
I use 1/4 parts castor oil to 1 whole part coconut oil, its very little oil you actually need for it. I only do it once a week, so a jar of organic coconut oil and a bottle of castor oil will last me a while. I also have been adding a few drops of vitamin e oil, but im not sure if its beneficial really.
