How many calories you having a day?
Fucking hate cutting but I hate being fat more
What are some good cutting tips to avoid hunger and binging?
I make protein fluff. I add berries depending on if I want carbs or not. So good and filling
>tfw hunger pains
What do you guys do aside from working out to take your mind away from the hunger?
Say you want to study something really hard, how do you distract yourself from the hunger to do it?
not op but it doesn't do shit to my appetite, it just makes me feel hot and jittery
>not even "healthy" snacks help keep me on track
You're probably thinking about it too much. I used to be like that, I could stuff myself silly with low calorie shit and still feel like I'm not satiated at all. I stopped being so neurotic and just said "fuck it, I just won't eat that much" and stopped counting calories. Then cutting was easier, ironically. I count them again now because I plateaued at 135 but now I don't think about it so much anymore and it's completely fine. I'll still eat a piece of buttered baguette or two, or have a little chocolate. IIFYM
I can jog 7 miles in an hour now thanks to /fit/, but I can't stop eating, will power isn't cutting it.
Vegetables, do you guys know of any vegetables or other fibery things I can fill my stomach with to get through my cut successfully?
I doubt it, my mom doesn't even drink more than once or twice a year and has looks down on people who do drugs. My parents were really straight-laced, and not the "I'm overcompensating for my horrible past" sort, just fucking anal.
Does cauliflower also do the trick? If so I can buy shitloads of those frozen brocolli and cauliflower combo packs from Walmart. My shit is probably going to look green during this cutting phase, it always happens when I eat more veggies than what I usually do.
Hunger is fucking with me so badly I totally forgot about it, thanks for the reminder.
what the fuck I'm 6'3" 185 and DYEL as fuck, what the fuck are you thankful for bulk harder faggot
>brocollini (baby brocolli)
I don't think that's right.
Fibrous vegetables have a ridiculously low caloric density. As long as you put little to no oil it's like fucking 600g for 300kcal, it's ridiculous. If you include it on every meal with lean meats you can really eat like a retard and you'll still have a caloric deficit at the end of the day. It's also pretty easy to eat 2 of these meals a day.
Honestly, I don't see a reason for anyone to hate a cut. You're probably doing it wrong/not so right.
Never done a real cut, everytime i've tried all i've done is eat too little and lose muscle aswell. 5'11" 200lbs ?? % BF. Would love to get down to 12% by halloween. Is it possible? I would happily take any drugs required, it's just something i need to do now
I've read opiate based pain killers help with hunger pains. Try to score some hydrocodone, word of warning though, you'll be high as shit and addiction is possible due to obvious reasons.
I wouldn't lie to you Raiden, Opiates are not that addictive. You have to beLIEve me.
I was actually pointing out your trip sixes
Name does start with J but i'm not a programmer 5spooky9me
Murdered the beard in cold blood after i broke up with my girlfriend this week
Oxy's aren't given out like candy anywhere except the US mayne
well, even if you`re not who I think you are I still advice you NOT to do the "any drug" method.
just do a little bit of research (sticky) cut calories, keep proteins high, LIFT HARDER, by halloween you should look OK enough.
fuck! I insist! isn`t this you?!?! (pic related)
Tfw 12% bodyfat. I thought it couldn't get any worse.
For lunch I ate some blueberry cobbler w/ 2 scoops of ice cream and fried clams today. All my calories in 1 fuckin hour and now I'm starving.
I havent been that fat in a while. Here's me 8 months ago.
Been averaging 2300 over the last 6 weeks, upping it to 2200 off days and 2500 lifting days since I'll be lifting 5x a week this block + sprints 3x per week.
I feel like I started my cut way too low.
I'm following myfitnesspal. I didn't realize that maintaining a 1kg reduction per week would require a 1.5k deficit. But by the time I realized, I got so used to eating small that I just go with it.
I just got rid of the roll of fat below my pecs that pops up whenever I sit down! Been eating at maintenance/slightly above so I might have packed on a bit of muscle and lost some fat.
So fucking happy right now :3c
I'm going shopping tomorrow, first time since starting my cut (diet), here's what I'm getting.
Lentils, broccoli, carrots, salmon, oats, eggs, spinach, soy, wheat bread, tomatoes, and I'm looking for more.
Thank God school's back in session, it's going to be so much easier to cut now. Got 20lbs to go and then I'll finally stop being so ugly. Still a manlet though.
When's the latest I should start my bulk?
I don't count calories. I watch my nutrients and adjust how much I eat based on my daily weigh-ins. It is too easy to miscount calories like obesefags and skellies unless you're going full-autistic about food prep. I'd rather weigh myself once daily than weigh every piece of food and look up its info.
Was doing a diet that only made me eat 1000 calories a day. Lost 17 kilo's already. Went from being a fatass to someone who is slightly overweight.
Still going though 88 kilo's is my perfect weight (i'm quite tall)
I work out a lot too, but it can be depressing to see my weight stay the same at times (because of weight lifting and muscle build). But then i look in the mirror and see my belly gets thinner each week. Also i went from size 38 to size 34 in pants (european sizes?).
After a few weeks you get to know what to expect in your normal weight variations. I have about a ten pound swing through the week being lightest on Wednesday morning.
It isn't so complicated to drop or gain. Y'all make it harder than it needs to be. If you want to lose keep eating less until you drop at the rate you want. Keep an eye on how it's progressing and adjust accordingly.
How do people cut on so few calories ?
at 5'10 and 170lbs i was losing weight on >2500
I tried going down to 2000 but i almost passed out at work. 2500 I was getting home and all i had the energy to do was sit in a chair until dinner. it was actual hell
You're an idiot.
Taking ephedrine to supplement your cut will not "give you a heart attack" unless you're a jackass who takes way more than recommended (3+ at 25 mg) or possibly becomes dependent on it entirely to control your diet for a long period of time (years at a time at a high dose).
I'm on my second cut with EC and it has worked great for curbing my appetite.
been cutting progressively dropping from 2k cals now down to 1.6k.
lost 5kg in 5 weeks, have another 5 weeks to go until im finished
got home after eating perfectly all day, and for the 5 weeks, and said 'fuck it' - having myself a 24 hr cheat day. just finished eating two pizzas, going to go grab some krispy kreme from 7/11. Tomorrow i'll eat a few burgers and a fuckload of pasta.
i'll fast for 24 hrs after, should offset some of the damage. Feelsgodman.jpeg
Every day I wish I had a fast metabolism.
Is this an eating disorder? Makes me depressed as fuck knowing that I can't eat as much as some people. I know people who start their cuts on 3000 calories.
cutting at ~1800 kcal a day, atm doing keto, dont care if its broscience or not, it makes it harder to overeat, also IF masterrace
>pic related, todays dinner, half my daily carbs are in this plate
as for advice, fasting helped me control my hunger, i mean a lot, i can easily fast for 48 hours without any trouble
also if you like to stuff your face and the feeling of fullness, IF is for you, less meals in smaller time frame can make it happen even at a caloric deficit
its worth giving a try just for these 2 things, nevermind all the other supposed benfits
I honestly think keto is retarded. If you prefer those keto foods then that's fine but to base a diet around those foods only is retarded.
IF can be good but if you decide to do things normally again you might miss the amount of food you could eat in a short time.
Both are definitely worth a try. Might give keto another go in the future.
What about cutting for work? An easy lunch to bring to work low in calories?
The best I do is sliced roasted chicken on toast with cheese. Roughly 360calories and filling. Or I do canned chicken, mixed with mayo, as long as i have room in my bag for a bowl.
i honestly dont think keto is sustainable for longer periods of time, the glycogen depletion hurts any high intensity stuff you might want to do after a few days, its just that with the narrow selection of foods its way harder for me to overeat, might just be me, but it simply restarted my cut, i was stalling hardcore for 3 weeks before i went keto, now im back on track and its looking good going forward, probably gonna stick with it till the end of september, should be done by then
about IF, im not going off it, been doing it for ~2 years now, it suits me great, doesnt matter if im cutting, bulking or maintaining
>pic related, my keto progress, just after a carb reload so weight is a bit elevated now due to water retention and stuff
>I know that feel brah
When I was 18-21 I was 6'1 and 145. I had orthodontic surgery to correct a underbite when I was 18, so I couldn't lift or eat solid food for 3 months. Now I'm 25, I'm 6'1 and 172 lbs, 18% BF.
I was a lazy bastard and drank too much beer for a few years and got skinny fat, weighed probably around 180-190.
I started eating better, laid off the beer and became more active (kayaking, surfing, lifting a bit but with a shit routine/shit lifts etc). Also thank got for dat fast metabolism. I started lifting for real recently, and am starting to see results. If you're 6'0+, we're all gonna make it brah.
And to the dude around 150, I'm not saying that drinking loads of beer+being lazy was a good thing, but it got me up to a decent weight to start converting fat into muscle. You should definitely bulk cleaner though.
I've been making some great gains on SL 5x5, but I'm interested in cutting some weight. If I eat at a moderate calorie deficit, like TDEE-500, should I focus on just maintaining my weights for each of the lifts once I stall? If so, would continuing to do 5x5 be good, or would some other routine be necessary?
Weigh 179 lbs. Don't know whether to keep cutting for a few more weeks.
If you can feel abs but they're covered by fat should you cut more or should you start bulking again so you can get them bigger?
What routine are you cutting bros doing?
I've been doing 5/3/1 with the triumvirate assistance and my deadlift/squat have been increasing slowly but surely, but my ohp and bench have actually decreased a bit. I think I need to switch to something with a bit higher volume on the upper body days, the really low reps on 5/3/1 doesn't do it.
I'm going for 1,000-1,400Cal a day, and I'm the hungriest I've ever been. Have to guzzle water to stave it off
The most I have to eat all day is a bowl of bran flakes and a turkey and cheese sandwich, maybe with a salad and some peanuts for a snack
Problem is that I'm a poorfag as well, so I don't have any measuring cups/spoons at the moment. I think I've lost a little weight just eyeballing it. Hope it's not all just in water.
>why the fuck so low
Because I'm cutting at just over 140. Trying to get that BF as low as I can before I start bulking
This guy here eats less than I do, why not yell at him?
EC Stack really curbed my appetite I think. Get used to going to bed hungry and if you can't handle the hunger for a day and know you're close to your calorie cap, "cheat" with something light like a Jello. It doesn't take that long to cut down and the longer you go, the less inclined you feel to eat shitty and the more used to cutting you get.
I'd say on my last cut (3 month period) I made a lot of progress. If everyone was eating pizza and junk food, I was perfectly fine with holding out and eating my healthy meals. If everyone was ordering food, I was alright with just getting a chicken salad with no dressing.
It's both mental and technical. Do it right and don't let up.
Gone from a cut to finding a good maintenance before i go into a bulk, currently on 2400 cals, drink lots of coffee(black), or tea, eat oatmeal, chicken, cantaloupe.. just whatever is low calorie and fills you up really.
>bulk accidentally when I was younger.
>peak weight at 205
>that was spring break
>pseudo gyno still won't go away
>top 2 abs visible with good lighting.
>arm vascularity insane with a few bicep/delt veins
>can clearly feel all my abs and v-taper becoming visible
>pseudogyno STILL won't go away
maybe after 10 more lbs i'll be gyno free.
>be gloriously bulking at 3200 cals a day
>finally started gaining weight and making some progress
>can't even afford 2000 a day now
>nor the gas to drive 40 mins to the gym every other day to lift
J-just cutting you guy
My main meal. All good, about 1000 - 1200 cal a day. Lost about 30 pounds the last 3 months.
I don't think it's gyno because it's size has reduced as I lost weight. Not completely gone yet though.
I store body fat mainly on my chest, ass, and thighs. I got fat when I was 14 and had already started puberty. Had no breasts till I got fat.
>tfw lost fat on my face and facial aesthetics are much better
>look at old pics and realize I have sunken cheeks
>even more motivated to cut for them aesthetics
Only jaw picture I have. Too bad the light was too bright, but you can faintly see when they sink in.
Why aren't you stacking with Caffeine? When I'm on it I have so much energy and I don't even think about food. Many days when I've actually forgotten to eat the entire day a few times.
Why do you people cut out carbs? I tried it, yet I was left with NO energy for exercise!
I am not cutting but am a hungry skeleton so all I eat is:
45g shredded wheat with 1% milk
2 eggs and 2 slices of wholemeal seedy bread
Meat or fish with vegetables, occasionally sweet potatoe.
Yum yum, plenty of energy
2400-2500 cal. 6'2 207lb. Basically getting a min of 150g of quality protein, then rest w/e. Pretty much IIFYM.
Down 8 lb in 2 months, not the fastest cut but its easy as fuck and I don't have to go full autist when I go out to eat/drink.
If your daughter died you'd be sad. If you started feeling like your daughter died for no reason, whilst living a good life with friends, gf, and a job, that is true depression. It's random deep sadness that doesn't go away.
Currently cutting with 2500 cals on rest days, 3200 cals on lifting days (4 days a week).
I avoid hunger by eating fewer, bigger meals. I only really get hungry right before a meal so it's all good.
Does anyone know how long it takes for you to realize that you're satisfied? Preferably I don't want to eat past the point that I'm no longer hungry, but while eating I still feel hungry, and I want to know how long it takes for your digestive system to register that you don't need to keep eating.
I aim for 1200-1500 calories a day. I try to stay away from anything with carbs but it's hard to do that in general. I drink >1 gallon of water a day.
Today I had a banana for breakfast, 1 EARL'S HOT LINKS (shit is good) topped with mustard on a slice of bread, and I just finished heating some left over mashed potatoes and steak. I'm guessing I have consumed ~900 calories today. There wasn't much potatoes and the steak was probably 1.5 servings worth.
Just did a rough estimate with MFP, I'm at ~1100 calories which is fine. I need to get more protein before the night is up but I'd also like to get something more colorful in me too (insert zuzak joke), what's a good veg with protein in it that I could just steam up and munch on before the night is over?
Carbs is what your body uses first in terms of energy. Then I think it's fats and proteins (I get the two mixed up), but essentially what the other anon is saying, is that your body is currently use to getting carbs as it's main type of energy but since you were cutting carbs, your body was adjusting to using fats and proteins as it's main energy source rather than carbs.
It's basically keto you nigger
I eat at 65% fat, 30% protein, and 5% carbs when I'm not lifting.
It will take you two-months to be fully fat-adapted. You will also experience other fun effects of keto.
Are you trying to lose weight? Cut carbs, cut calories, cut sugar and anything processed (fast food, soda, boxed food in the freezer aisle - veggies are okay, 90% of sit in restaurant food). Try the best to your ability to focus your diet on protein, fats, and limit your sodium intake. Drink at least 1 gallon of water (4 32 ounce cups).
As I was typing this, >>28351656 came up. People on keto experience that "groggy" feeling you mentioned because carbs is the primary source of glucose which is the preferred type of "gas" for your body. But with a lack of carbs (glucose) your body adapts and reserves glucose for your brain (which is the only type of "gas" it can run on) and it forces your body to produce more glucose from glucagon (the stored form of glucose) which is what makes you feel tired and weak because every other muscle and organ in your body is waiting in line behind your brain for glucose as fuel, forcing your body to get rid of your reserved glucose and begins to burn fat.
tl;dr less carbs leads to burning fat for energy
I do not understand, the only carbs I get in a day are two slices of wholemeal bread and maybe a sweet potato on occasion, the bread is daily.
Is too many carbs?
I dont understand anything, I dont understand the sticky, I do not understand why I am a hungry skeleton!
What we call macros is your daily intake of the big three energy suppliers: carbs, fat, and protein. Imagine each create a slice in a pie. You want your carbs to be your lowest, proteins and fats the highest. Two slices of bread is no big deal who cares, but just understand that carbs are in food you don't realize and that is why in western society it takes some effort to get into to feel of how the new diet will be. I use myfitnesspal as a rough estimator for my daily caloric, nutrition, and macro intake.
Reread the sticky, lurk on the bodybuilding.com forum, ask questions and do your research. Are you trying to lose weight or get bigger?
I am 5" 7, I believe, and weight around 130 to 135 lbs, depending on if my stomach has food inside really.
I want to gain muscle but I do not have access to a gym until I move, pretty much in almost a years time, so I have been doing running to improve my fitness.
I am limited with my resources so I squat eith a kettlebell and use a pullup bar, I am trying to build muscle, but not enough that I need to use a proper barbell.
Buy yourself some dumbbells. You can accomplish a lot of exercises and gain mass with just those. Maybe you can invest into one of those sets that allow you to adjust weights and sell them once you have a gym nearby.
As for nutrients go, listen to this
>No you faggot. Eat the standard 40% carbs - 40% protein - 20% fat
Use the myfitnesspal app I told you about and really stick to it. You're my height so try to eat at the very minimum 2000 calories but aim for 2500. That's a lot of chicken, veggies and rice in one day. The first few days and week will be real shitty, literally, and your stomach is going to want to say fuck you no more but if you really want the mass keep eating.
No you're the fucking moron. You must be also one of those retards who think they need to shit at least once a day.
Constipation is not being able to shit after four days, btw. Go eat your low-fat margarine you retard.
