This is something that even a lot of bodybuilders lack. How the fuck do you get your lower abs to look good? Most people that think they have 4 packs just have poor lower ab definition. You can see that there's a line going down on Arnold's abs here, it's just not as developed as the top ones.

If you can see the outline then genetics are not the issue. All the 6 separations of the abs are there, the problem is that the lower one seems to be incredibly difficult to develop. Frank Zane also has the same issue.
I was going through my usual routine at the gym today when, towards the end of my workout, a guy approached me and warned me about slamming the weight down on the hard surface while barbell rowing, as it would 'splatter my brains'. (I usually lift on the hard surface rather than the padded area, so that I can see myself from the side and make sure my back is straight).
I'm now wondering if the impact shock when slamming weights down during deadlifts/rows/etc can actually harm the brain at all? This has never struck me before, so it's making me kinda paranoid now. If anyone knows any studies on the subject, that would be fantastic

Also yes you can get brain damage. You drop the barbell on your head during an ohp and yeah brain damage can happen.

I was just looking at some pics of myself the other day and the wide waist is definitely hurting things. I'm 6'0 162 pounds so losing more weight is definitely not a goal. My physique, however, is 'skinnyfat', and I do have those love handles.

It's possible, but you will need some basic stuff for home. A bench, and some dumbbells or barbell. If you can't afford to buy a bench, you can make one out of some 2x4's. Aside from that, just appropriately diet and do what exercises you can, you'll be fit; Maybe not ultra ripped, but you won't be a Nancyboy.
