Why is lifting for the sole purpose of attracting women looked down upon in the /fit/ community?
10 posts and 1 images submitted.

Women are a meme
>>
>>42606029
You wouldn't be on here if you could attract women in the first place.
>>
>>42606029
MGTOW, Lookism, and the jealous NEETs thst buy into those meme philosophies overtook /fit/.
Three/four years ago aesthetics threads were common and most people succeasfully lifted for girls. Turns out muscles don't make up for lacking intelligence, a good job, or social competence.

Is there a correct term for the type of weight lifting when you do as many reps as you can, reduce weight, do as many reps as you can, reduce weight etc.?
I just call it 'deprogressive lifting'.

Fellow /fit/bros, I NEED YOUR HELP! I've had surgeries for torn labrums in both my shoulders, even after I've spent months/years recovering yet I still experience pain in my shoulders during chest exercises.

My MRIs say my shoulders have healed, too.

What the FUCK do I do guys? I'm only 25, and I will not accept being unable to work out like a fucking cripple. I'm doing PT stretches, but nothing helps with this pain, and I'be already scheduled an appointment with a pain management specialist.

don't do barbell chest exercises. adjust 45 or less angle with dumbbell presses. landmine presses (both hands at once) also seem to not hurt a injured shoulder

do PROPER ohp if you can. do cable flies.

realize that if you're not gonna compete in pl, barbell bench's only advantage is easier loading and progression weight-wise. dbs are superior anyways
>>
>>42605898
>>42605939
Agreed, I've dislocated both my shoulders in the past and they've never quite been the same. I don't touch barbell bench anymore and I try to avoid volume training on chest and shoulders.

Try to get a regular muscle ache but as soon as it starts to hurt, stop immediately. Even if you're 5 minutes in the door, it sucks but honestly it's not worth the risk. Go home, rest and live you train another day.
>>
>>42605898
I've torn both labrums too. Never got the surgery though. I just use a lacrosse ball to massage the pain and stay hyperfocused on my form for bench. I'm a powerlifter so i avoid ohp except the occasional arnold press session. Other than that i deal with the paij because I'm not a fucking pussy.

Is powerlifting more fun/motivating than bodybuilding if you're natty?
9 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
these are questions you have to ask yourself op. if 100 people say pl is more fun, and you try it for a bit and hate it, what good did those 100 people do you?
>>
Strength is objective. If you bodybuild for 1 year, put on 35 pounds and shred to 7% bodyfat some asshole will still say "chest looks small" or "why do you care about your appearance so much" or some female will bitch about how gross being ultra lean is. But if you can deadlift 500 lbs? Then you can lift a quarter of a ton with your bare fucking hands, and that fact is not up to anyone else's opinion or personal preferences. That is yours.
>>
>>42605851
To be a "multi disciplinary" athlete is probably where the fun is at, doing PL/BB/WL/SM, learning about them, meeting new people and perhaps competing eventually.

I have 3/4 a block of camembert, beef mince, white rice, broccoli.

Can i chuck all of these together without it being fucking disgusting?

For some reason i feel it would end up being delicious. But logically it would probably end up disgusting.

I have the strongest fucking urge to just fucking smother my rice, beef and broccoli in it.

Sounds tasty but I'm running a 900 cal deficit so I might not be the person to ask.
>>
combine beef and rice
broc on the side

finish up with camembert for dessert
>>
>>42605777
Make a white sauce with the camembert and serve it over the steamed brocoli.
Make stuffed pepper mix with the beef and rice, but don't put into peppers, obviously.

Eat them as separate dishes

I started working out a few months back, and I'm making some alright noob gains. Problem is, I'm also becoming a bit of a douchebag because of it.
>constantly feel up my biceps and pecs throughout the day
>check myself out in the mirror with my shirt off (1hr/day all added up)
>whole body language radiates cockiness/overconfidence (not in a good way)
and in general I'm turning into a vain douchebag fuck.
Anyone have experience with this? Anyone know how to stop?
The worst thing is, I'm not even that muscular, it just seems like it in contrast, because I started out as a complete weakling.
I don't want to end up like Jeff Seid except with way less muscle mass

I think you'll probably get used to it. Eventually your noob gains will run out, and your overconfidence will go with it.

>>42605587
just remember that deep down you're still the scumbag you were before you started lifting. and nobody else cares about your gains. if they say something to you about looking more muscular, then they are just making fun of you for being a try-hard faggot ;_;

What is the best exercise and why is it /loaded carry/ ?

Does the loaded carry have to be a bag of sand? Can it say, be a long package containing furniture or a large rug rolled up? Because I do that from 3 AM to 8 AM.
