What is the best substitutes for deadlifting and squatting?

I have scoliosis pretty bad and I can't do these lifts no matter how much I work on my form without big pains in my back and having to stop my entire gym session after a couple of sets.

You all keep discussing what exercises are great for ripped abs. I'm fucking tired of dyel talk about crunches and shit. They are fine but if you want strong abs you need to start doing these exercises. DRAGON FLAG AND LANDMINE TWIST. If you already do these then great. Sure there are other great ab exercises but if you can't do these you are an ablet.

I don't know what to do at this point.

I've bulked from 164 to 180 and I'm feeling extremely large, I'm 5'7".

I've been doing Strong lifts for 4 months and my stats are.

Deadlift 115kg
Squat 80kg
Bench 52kg
Row 45kg
OHP 35kg

Should I continue bulking or start cutting?

My diet has been 3 eggs in the morning with a slice of toast and half an avocado + protein shake.

Lunch whatever they have at work, nothing unreasonable, mostly roast dinners which is 1/3 veg 1/3 carbs 1/3 protein(ish) around 900 calories.

In the evening I've been having sweet potatoes + fish/chicken + broccoli and a protein shake.

Some nuts and fruit throughout the day and some peanut butter if I haven't eaten enough, aiming for around 2600 calories.

Can you recommend a similar event? I run competitively right now but straight running is quite boring and triathlons seem kinda meh. These "obstacle races" seemed like a fun competition, especially if I can bring some fit friends along.

You're fat. You need to get your eating under control by whatever it takes that works for you

Obviously, things like swearing off sweets, snacks, and sodas work, and you need to stop eating junk.
Also don't run out and buy protein powder. You won't need it until you're lean, in the meantime learn to eat clean and less.


I am halfway through my cut. Started at 225 and and down to 194. My goal is 175. Intermittent fasting is working for me and I should be at my goal by mid-winter.

This thread is specifically for dietary discussion to either start or continue a cut. You can do this, we are here for you!

I don't get have any apatite after a walk, and I'm basically forcing myself to eat to the point of sickness as it is. I don't have a scale but I'm a week in and my clothes are already getting significantly looser and I have no energy at all. Should I be forcing myself to eat more or is this just a normal response to such a massive change to my activity/dietary routine and I will come around in a few days? I don't feel hungry, but like I said I have no energy at all and a few days ago I started getting the shakes whenever I am sitting still.

I really don't have a clue when it comes to nutrition, but something feels wrong.

Energy levels will ebb and flow while cutting. It sucks but your body is not only working with a lower amount of caloric energy, it is also working to burn fat. You also might be stressed about college.

Just take your time. Don't ever force yourself to eat - if you are not hungry then there isn't a good reason to force food consumption.
