>2 weeks

Thats your problem.
I was shivering immensely for the first 10 days and could barely even stand still.
About 500 days now and I am extremely satisfied.

It gets easier every day. But you have to do it every day
>>
>>42689321
Just do lukewarm. Cold is a meme.
>>
>>42689321
It gets better, just keep at it. You'll start noticing tangible positive results in about 6 weeks.

Is this your first job ever?

You don't make friends at work unless you happen to find soulmates, it's a job, those are coworkers, it's.not fucking school

You do your job and get out, be polite and dont try to chit chat, you are clearly a dumbass so you'll spill spaghetti with a simple "so where you transfered or what?"

Remember, its a job, not playground.

Highly skilled engineer who works from home due to dept reasons. I have been in this field a long time and I'm nearing my 30, my company is offering me some space in the new office and I can go and be normal for once

The stronger I get, the weaker I feel. I'll hit a new PR, then get instantly reminded that by PR is barely part of other people's warm ups. I hit 225x3 today, which for me is strong, but in gym culture it's absolutely weak as shit. There's dudes in my gym that slam out 315 for 10-12 reps, and not just one dude, like 5 or 6 guys I see multiple times a week. There's one dude that hit 445x5 yesterday, and I'm just thinking, I can't even deadlift that. I don't even have the desire to deadlift that heavy, it's not even a goal right now.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJM88_YFLS0

Skip passed the faggot and go to the 5-6 minute mark. Larry Wheels pushes up 4-5 plates like the weights are inflatable. That weight would literally kill me, I can't move 5 plates in any of my lifts.

I know he's blasting roids like any other powerlifter, but how do you guys cope with the fact there are men that are and will always be infinitely stronger than you in your favorite hobby? I could lift for years, and I don't expect my natty limit to take me passed a 315x1-2 rep bench in my lifetime. Then there's people who hit that for like 20 reps out there in the world.

you might as well ask how you can live knowing people make more money than you, are taller than you, have better cars then you, slept with more girls than you, can run a mile faster than you, can suck dick better than you, etc.
>>
>>42689035
You answered your own question. It's a hobby, you do it for fun not to compete. As long as you enjoy lifting and like you said you are getting PRs what is the difference, they might have been training 10+ years for all you know dude.
>>
>>42689035
>>42689073
This. There will always be people that make more money, have better jobs, lift more weight, driver better cars, live in better houses, had better breaks, worked harder than you, are better at your job than you, are smarter than you, have better/higher degrees than you, have bigger dicks than you, look better than you, have a better looking and/or more loving wife than you, etc.

All you can do is try your absolute best and succeed based on your own standards. Are you stronger than you were last year? Do you make more money than last year? Did you upgrade your car/home in the past 5 years? Did you get a higher level of education in the past few years? If the answer to any of these is yes, then you're on your way. Just keep at it.

Have any of you attempted the infamous "8 hour arm workout" to honor the true king of /fit/? I did it yesterday and I woke up today with 0.5" bigger arms.. COME ON, LETS GET BIG!!!

Im doing it next year on the day that he died as a tribute... did you do it while listening to the 8 hour loop of the natty anthem?
It does not count unless you to it to the song

Just before I started.. but I did watch some of Rich's videos during my breaks..

Did he really do an 8 hour arm workout at some point? If so, proofs?

Hey /fit , i'm joining the military in 2 and a half weeks. So i'm wondering what kind of training I can do for my LOWER body. I already have a conditioned upper body. But my lower body needs some serious training. How much running and how fast pace should i go at it for? Would appreciate some help from guys that are more trained in running and have a good stamina.

Run 3 miles a day, and do a shit ton of jumping lunges. You're going to be running your ass off, there's not much you can do in a couple of weeks to get ready for the physical activity you'll be doing. There's actually not much you can do in general that will get you ready for it, so just be mentally tough.

I know it's kind of a shit answer but it's true

source: was a cross country/track runner at a military institute. between being an athlete and a cadet, my body eventually broke and stopped getting tired and sore.

if you got any questions though I'll answer them, no background in studying scientific work out shit and all that, just real experience.
>>
>>42688979
Thanks for the advice mayne, i'm fucking nervous as hell but i hope that it will go fine. I'm gonna run my ass off these 2 weeks. And also, my shins get really tight and sore when I run, it has gotten alot better since before when i just started to run. So is my tight shins a reason because I hadn't been running for so long or because im not made for running. again appreciate the answer.
>>
Lower body honestly is the least of your worries. UNLESS you get shin splints. If that's the case welcome to the world of living hell.

If you really want to build your leg endurance and simulate what the military will put you through then put on a heavy ruck sack and start marching a couple miles on concrete/asphalt/road. Not sure what branch you're going to but if marines not sure what hills you will run into. If you'e going into the ARMY then you may have some serious fucking hills to battle. I went to Fort Knox and they have some crazy hills there. Get ready for that in case you get thrown somewhere like that.

I'm looking to increase upper body muscle size, specifically chest/upper arms (my abs are actually not too bad), I've put together a VERY basic workout (it's literally all pushups), but I have no clue if it will work.

- Medium Grip Pushups - 3 Sets

- Wide Grip Pushups - 3 Sets

- Close Grip Pushups - 3 Sets

Then repeat this with my legs up on something. 20 second rests between sets. I plan to start with 5 pushups per set, and increase from there, as i'm told that you should go slow and do low reps for building up muscle. Maybe do this onece/twice a day? Not sure what to do about warm ups.

I'm doing this all at home with no equipment btw. Any advice is appreciated.

That will get you through a few weeks. Obviously it is better than doing nothing, but if you were able to get into a gym or even get your hands on some dumbbells you could make very good progress in your first few months, especially if your diet is even remotely decent. The pushups will give you some shoulder, chest and tricep development but only to an extent, at some point you will have to add resistance.

My neighbours just filed a noise complaint about me. I workout in the mornings (7:30) because of my work schedule and now my landlord has requested me to not do that. What the hell do I do now, I dont want to quit lifting. Obviously I workout at home, the next gym would be a 45min drive and my schedule doesnt allow that.

They specifically complained about the bar hitting the rack. I COULD tone down the singing in between sets though. Its weird that they didnt complain about that.
