I've been having a nagging pain in my right trap, as well as a few other areas, that has been around for a month and hasn't gotten any better. I tried doing a deload week and it helped a bit, but it wasn't enough. The pain makes it impossible for me to do overhead presses, incline bench presses and is just generally annoying

Thinking I should do a whole week of no working out to see if it helps. Thing is, I'm on a bulk right now. So my question is, should I just eat at maintenance for this week? or my normal bulk intake? Something in-between?

Also should I just lay around and hibernate the whole week or should I do calisthenics?

Is there any cardio I can do indoors, with little or no equipment that is actually good.? I live in a frosty shit hole so I can't always jog. My house isn't great for jump rope either. I was thinking of saving for a rowing machine but it'd quite expensive for me just now.

anybody know any 1500-1700 calorie a day meal plans?

Looking up this shit brings me to a bunch of gay women's health websites where they recommend dumb shit like a "eggsadilla" and a starbucks milk latte for a snack.

i want regular people shit like chicken and rice or something that I can package up on my way to school. im fine with eating the same shit every day, and i cook my own food.

here's your meal plan

cook some rice

crack a raw egg into a bowl then put some soy sauce on it

then throw the steaming hot rice and mix it

then throw a can of sardines and more soy sauce if you want on top of that and mix it

600 cal with a good mix of carbs/fat/protein. eat as many times as you desire per day without killing yourself. supplement with whatever fruit or veggies you want for other meals/snacks. use protein shakes to get the rest of your protein.

If you want a quick meal with 0 prep bring a can of sardines with you to work/school and just eat that shit straight of the can. This will horrify everyone around you and the stench will attract every stray cat in a 5 mile radius

I initially hated sardines but something inside me died and now I eat them daily be it straight out of the can or in a bowl

5'11" (180cm) 160lbs (72kg) 24yrs
I've been doing a calisthenics program 3 times a week for about 3 months now. I've made fast progress because I followed the program and had a great diet. My friends and coworkers have noticed results but I'm ready to transfer over to a gym I live next to.
My two main goals are to be strong and to look strong. At the same time, I'm not too interested in SS since it places zero importance on aesthetics and seems painfully boring. So could I just do the 5 big compound lifts for 5 sets of 5-8 reps at whatever weight challenges me and increase the weight every time I get to 5x8? Will that increase strength and build muscle?

Yeah. Muscle fatigue+recovery = muscle growth. 5x8 may be excessive (unless the first two aren't really working sets but rather warmups) but there's no harm to such volume either so do whatever the fuck you wanna do.

So long as the muscles you want to grow are getting hit by those big 5, you're good. Add in isolations at the end if something is lagging.

Do this at least twice a week on nonconsecutive days.

warm up:
•abs/core 10mins. intensely
•handstand practice against a wall
(this actually helped build my shoulders and traps noticeably)

•wide pull-ups 5 x 5-8
•dips 5 x 5-8
•chin-ups 5 x 5-8
(I should be doing inverted rows according to the program but I can't find a bar low enough and they always seem to mess up my shoulder anyway.)
•elevated push-ups 5 x 5-8

•pistol squats 3 x 8-12
(I hate these. I don't think they're working my hamstrings at all, they are more about balance than strength since they're very easy for me as far as strength is concerned, and my quads are already outpacing my upper body in growth.)

I alternate between pull/push sets with 90secs rest between sets.
