Barbells are a meme. Gymnasts have more aesthetic, functional and healthy bodies all without picking up a single plate. They have better longevity, stronger tendons, ligaments and all their cartilage still in tact. The only ones that ever get injured are doing "tricks" that are not required for optimal health. They're more limber too. They won't get injured standing there trying to look tough and pull a hammie. They have better cardiovascular health without ever so much as going for a jog. Their bodies look natural -- no disgusting overgrown manboob, balding, out of breath pimple body, useless outside a weightroom roided freak. They can wear normal pants too and have far greater functionality in real life. All accomplished by a set of rings they can shove in their fanny pack and attach to a tree to workout with. They can do all the workouts you do with a barbell only using only their bodyweight thanks to a superior understanding of lever arm lengths, stabilizer muscles and a deeper stretch. Now go run along my little meme victims. Gymnasts have trouble finding a mate -- said no gymnast ever. You have your lower back to snap while constantly rationalizing the pain you're in every day with muh gains. I want you to look into rippletits eyes, see the sole of a defeated, beat up and busted old man who can do little more than a handful of circus tricks. Now look into the eyes of the silver god and ask yourself where you want to go in the next 40 fucking years of your miserable failed existences.

We've been together for almost 3 years but I was after her long before that (since 2011). Worst part is that she's not being clear and just chose to ignore me. I was already close to her family and planned on proposing this year.

Went through a pretty bad breakup and couldnt lift either but here's what you gotta do: you got to build your confidence back up and focus on yourself. You need to go chill more and really soak your feelings. Doing things other than relaxing in silence without any distractions will prolong the pain. You don't have to do it all the time just when the feelings start to get strong. Or when you need relief.

Is it really necessary to eat fruit? Am i hurting my health if i dont eat fruit? I almost feel like the antioxidants and vitamins i would get are at the cost of taking in a bunch of extra sugar that i dont need or ever crave. I eat a ton of vegetables with every meal btw.

Can /fit/ help me? I used to be slightly overweight, but I lost fifty pounds, and now I'm underweight, but still have fat parts on my body, especially on stomach, best way to describe my body figure would be "skinny-fat" (I basically don't have muscles). I usually eat very little, about 500-1500 calories a day, mostly carbohydrates, and don't really work out hard, I do about fifty push-ups, 1.5 minute normal plank, 60 second side planks, twenty pull-ups and crunches here and there. Should I lose fat first or should I build muscle?

If you are truly skinnyfat you could be anywhere from 20-25% bodyfat.

Think about this logically. You are supposed to cut when you reach >15% bodyfat. Why the fuck would you START bulking in your situation?

Hey /fit/ ! Been lifting for a little over a year, got from 65kg/143lbs to 80kg/176lbs. Made all kinds of gain and a good amount of fat. Going on my first ever cut and i am here for some advice !

Didn't see a running thread, so here we go.

Got a 6km steady run on my training menu for the day. Probably do a 9k trail run instead. As long as I keep my pace in line with 'steady', I'm satisfied.

What kind of run do you have planned today? Or are you a non-cardio loser who can't move their meat without a mechanical aid?

I'm using map my run to help me speed up my 5k time. I've got a 32 min run today with a 10min warmup, 12min max pace, 10min cooldown.

Really not looking forward to it, but I know once I start I'll be having fun.
