I was told that I should have a decent starting strength base when i start training for hypertrophy. What are good lifts to start training for hypertrophy? IDGAF about how strong i get. all about looks.

Hey /fit/ I need some help. I want to build a lot more muscle on my upper body. I need strength causs im a running back for my highschool. Im one of the 3 juniors on that wasn't a pussy and joined the senior team. What do i need to do/ eat to build muscle in my upper body? Mostly arms, chest and core. As in terms of "specs" im 16 weighing 160 lbs and i sit at about 5'8 in height. I have a decent amount of fat on my that i'd like to turn into muscle.

If you're doing table dips (the shit with your feet on the ground): STHAP, never do them anymore, do full dips.
If you're doing weighted dips: move to bodyweight dips, work on max rep for a month before going back to weighted.
If you're doing full dips, but with a very horizontal alignment: go more vertical.
Anything else (or even if this gives you some direction on what to do) might need a sports doctor, not everybody can safely dip, and the problem points are the shoulder joint and the sternum. It's rare, but not unheard of, breaking your sternum with dips.

CBD oil is great medicine, I've found it definitely helps in recovery, but as usual first post is best post. Sleeping well and having a focused diet will probably benefit you far more. Don't just eat for your macros, eating a variety of fruits and vegetables helps your body in so many ways

I posted the below last night and everything is going "according to plan."

I didn't think living in London could be so damn boring. I've exhausted all places to go.

I'm going home and feel like I may eat a load of junk food. Usually I tell myself it is the last binge but I won't lie to myself.

Clean my room on Saturday, go to the gym, wonder how it could be 2 pm when I'm going to central London, where I sit around drinking coffee, browsing 4chan on my phone, feeling sad about life, then realise it's not worth going to museums when they're almost closed. I'll see Staceys everywhere and feel awful. I will walk around aimlessly. Then waste my evening either reading boring books or on the internet. Sunday is similar but with the museums closed and feeling more alone and aimless.

Anyone else think this is way too many calories for someone 155lbs working out for like an hour a day and doing just acting shit in the meantime?
>Breakfast: 6 egg whites + 75g Oats + Raisins
>Mid-Morning: Tuna + Wholemeal Pita
>Lunch: 2 Chicken Breasts + 75g Brown Rice + Green Veg
>Pre-Workout: Banana + Protein Shake
>Post-Workout: Banana + Protein Shake
>Dinner: Chicken/Fish + Brown Rice/Pasta + Green Veggies
>Pre-Bed: Casein shake
Even if the shakes were 1 scoop each, green veg was like 2-3 servings, it still puts it around 2500 calories, and like 300g of protein with a similar number of carbs. A guy of Pitt's height at 155 should have maintenance around 1800. How the fuck does that work?

I'm 145lb 5'10 skelly and I've only been able to gain any weight recently by maintaining 4k calories a day or more. Sometimes people's metabolisms are just hyperspeed.

Why do you think that's b8 though? Half of this board experiences the same thing, look at all the threads of the guys bitching about how much they're eating but they're still skinnyfat because they have a higher calorie thresh hold. People don't have the same exact metabolism universally.

Hi, /fit/. In your experience, what has been the most effective form of cardio to lose fat/weight?

So far it's hiking or stairs for me. I've tried swimming and cycling but hiking is my favorite atm. +with weight lifting I've been losing fat faster than the other things I've tried.

Cycling. I'm on a road racing team so I'm riding 5 or 6 days a week all year, anywhere from 7 to 15+ hours a week (which is all the time I can spare with working a 40 hour a week job). I use power-based training so I have a PowerTap rear wheel for my regular road bike, and a Quarq crankset on my TT bike, so I have a very accurate idea of how much I'm burning and can easily burn 1000+ kcal on any ride. Riding at a Tempo intensity, for me, burns 900+ kcal *per hour*. If you're already fairly well conditioned then just take plain water or water with electrolytes in your bottles and get the equivalent of burning an extra 100 to 300 kcal/hour because you're not taking anything in during the ride; don't do this if you're riding at Threshold though, you'll bonk.

I do consume dairy. I cut out dairy but made 0 gains so I went back. My diet is good but yeah I stress a lot
