you should do stuff like band pull aparts and hip circles before you lift to get blood flow and joint fluid to those areas

but you should save your foam rolling/ stretching until after you lift. doing it before can lead to muscles being "loose" and can effect power production and can even cause injury

OP I was the same. I didn't believe in it till I had two close encounters of small tears. My bicep (was good after 3 days) and my left forearm which I milked for 2 weeks. I was lucky but I highly suggest it. I do pull ups/chin ups now.

Deadlifts. I fucking hate them.
I love squatting heavy, I love benching heavy or pressing heavy, but I can never enjoy a session with deadlifts. I have to rest for 3 - 5 minutes between sets, where as i can get away with 2 minutes of rest between sets of heavy squats

What can I do to begin enjoying my deadlift sessions?

Exactly this. Once I reach 1/2/3/4 plates. How do you manage to maintain that strenght while you build proficency in jiu jitsu for example? Specifically would be the frequency volume and intensity in both disciplines. If anyone has experience in this I would apreciate any advice.

But you are not telling me anything with that. Suppose you lift Mon Wed Fri, if you train MMA Tue and Thu you will be beat up by friday, and add to the mix that you are doing Texas Method and you will never progress unless you are eating like a fucking animal.

Why do people work out their traps?
Traps look like shit, no one thinks having a huge buffalo neck is attractive.
There is literally no reason to work out your traps if you're aiming for aesthetics.

Main focus on progression should be on compounds done with powerlifting orientated form

Then add in Isos and do 10-20 reps

I did fucking SS for ages and got real strong but didn't do any Isos

Looked a little better when I switched to 5/3/1 which has more accessories

Just started Sheiko which with the volume and a few arm sets here and there should be good to go

What's the point in training 3/4 days a week if you don't even look like you lift

Anyone here quit smoking? Im about 2 weeks in and I gotta say I feel like horse shit. Im constantly coughing up stuff and I continously have a running nose. I basically feel like I have a mild flu. I looked up the withdrawal symptoms and supposedly what im going through is normal. My question is has anyobe gone through wth this and is there anthing that I can do to curb the withdrawals?
