Weight pushing against your back makes it easier to balance.
Bar doesn't have weight is harder to control.
"Getting a feel of the weight" is something you hear often in powerlifting.

I can't do a proper squat, /fit/.

I'm a total novice at lifting, and I thought that it was just because my body wasn't used to these movements.

After a week or so of doing nothing but trying to improve my form with just the bar, I still can't comfortably get my legs parallel or lower.

My problem is that my lower back doesn't seem to be flexible enough to keep my chest up and my ass out. Trying to go parallel is painful, and I don't want to risk any injury.

What the hell am I doing wrong?

I can post videos if necessary.

Highly doubt it's your lower back flexibility that's the problem.

Mobility tends to be the problem, though. Ankles, hamstrings, and hip flexors are the big ones, so work on stretching those.

Best bet is to get a coach.

Do bodyweight squats daily for a week. Do the same for goblet squats. Look up some yoga and shit. You need to learn how to move.

Your torso doesn't need to be vertical unless you're front squatting.

The bar needs to be over your midfoot (midway between the back of your heel and your metatarsal joint). If that means you've got to lean forward a bit so be it. Just don't let your lower back round and you'll be fine.

What's a good routine strictly for looks?

Is the 'peak' body form unnatural?

It takes so much work to get to peak physical condition. Greek god body etc.

The likes of Bale or Afflefk in the Batman roles had to punish their bodies to look good. Yet they look terrible the moment they stop training?

Does this mean our natural human optimum form isn't to be ripped. But rather to be skinny, or simply fatt?

Secondary question. Why doesn't the muscle just stay as it is..why does it always sag. If it was natural to have muscles they'd stay that way.

calories/food counting is probably second nature to you at this point so idk see you'd bother making the effort to give that up, and if you don't like whatever exercise you're doing, find something else you enjoy and think you'll keep at after losing weight

Yes, I know what your going to say, short session, but lads here, once again are some easy tips to increase efficiency in the gym

>Don't speak to your buddies in the gym
>Spend less time looking at yourself in the mirrors and walking around
>Don't listen to music or bring your phone in
>No shower fap
>Spend less time walking around the changing room with your penis out and drying it

Take this for example, one guy this morning in my gym , the whole time I was there,might have done about 10 minutes of work out. He would have have to send at least 3 hours plus to do what I done. So much wasted time.

Lads, with these tips, maybe one day you (you) could be in the morning gym elite

Are rest days a meme? I never feel like I need to rest, nor do I like taking a day off from exercise.

I do weighted neck extensions at the gym. That really was the point when I had to accept I don't go to the gym to look good at the gym. If you think hip thrusts are awkward wait till you try these.

But the gains are fucking amazing and I can't stop.

just started stronglifts 5x5, but the problem is I can't do a squat, not even a bodyweight squat. my quads are extremely tight from months of sitting around, and sometimes it even fucks up my gait. been folding my legs while sitting and doing squats as deep as I can and stretching them morning and night and beginning to see some progress, but sick of having to skip legs in the gym. anyone have any advice?
