What's more important: strength or volume?
Both, jesus fucking christ how hard is it for you turbo morons to understand this?
>>41560732
You mean "intensity," instead of strength. Volume and intensity both build strength.
Ideally you'd have a heavy day and a light (volume) day.
Volume in aesthetic proportions
enough with the silly questions go eat something
I'm taking an intro to boxing class next semester at my university. Does anybody have any advice for someone who is completely new to boxing?
I'm 19 and relatively new to lifting. I did SL 5x5 for most of my freshmen year but fell off the wagon during winter break a little while before spring finals and started over a few weeks ago.
>>41560688
Go to the gym and start doing some interval running on the treadmill. I assume you guys will do a lot of circuit training so might as well prepare for that so you don't embarrass yourself
>>41560688
>Does anybody have any advice for someone who is completely new to boxing?
watch hajime no ippo
>sign up for intro boxing class at uni
>have to deregister from intermediate chess strategy
>i need both of them for my major and they're scheduled at the same fucking time in fall semester only
Who the fuck designs this bullshit? At least the boxing textbook has a free pdf online.
am i losing out on gains if i stop doing flat bench press and instead do incline bench press? no matter how i change my flat bench form, i get terrible pain in my left collar bone. the pain is minimal with incline bench.
>>41560628
Do both but on separate days. Incline bench compliments overhead press well.
>>41560713
well, fuck. i dont know what else to do. it feels like the entire force of the bench press is pushing down on my left collar bone, like it's going to explode the bone into a million pieces. really fucking painful. right collarbone is perfectly fine.
>>41560743
i want to avoid flat bench press completely because it hurts my collar bone A LOT and im afraid that i might permanently injure myself. like i said, ive tried changing my form every way (different grip widths, elbows tucked and flared and everything in between, scapula retracted and not retracted, shoulders flat and rolled forward or back, etc.) nothing helps. same with dips: i cant do them because it fucks up my left collar bone. i think i might have some sort of anatomical issue with my collar bone, idk.
I need a new hairstyle, I need advice on what to get to fit my facial structure

Thanks /fit/, you almost fucking killed me.
lol you're never gonna make it
It's survival of the fittest, Leonard.
who would have possibly thought your body cant live on water alone?
Anyone else noticed they've become a lot angrier since starting to take lifting more seriously?
At first it kinda helped with controlling mine when I just went in and did my 3 x 10 for whatever body part my weight training app said but now that I'm starting to try and do my own programming (I'm still a noob with it but I'm still making slow and steady gains after my novice gains) I've been much more agressive at the gym, and afterwards.
I hurt my wrist last week so I've been lifting a lot lighter and I just strained something in my calf so I can't even run and I was literally screaming at myself the whole car ride home. What do?
I dont fly off the handle any easier but it has made me more arrogant. I can't stand looking at fatties or weak men anymore
>>41559852
>falling for the lifting makes me more aggressive meme
It's a placebo dumbass, you expected yourself to be more angry due to lifting.
>>41559871
That last bit, I fully agree.
When I see them, I have an urge of some kind to slaughter them.
so when i'm doing squats, DL, and pendlay rows, when i point my toes out, i'm noticing that I feel more comfortable if my right foot is pointed out more than my left. However, in that position my hips and legs feel fine and in balance.
I've had issues with my hips being imbalanced, and I hope I'm not making it worse.
Does anyone else even pay that much attention to the angle they point their toes out?
Keep in mind it isn't a huge difference from my right to my left. At most double the angle.
>>41559849
this pic looks the exact same, except for lifting shoes compared to barefoot
stretch more
>>41559849
>Does anyone else even pay that much attention to the angle they point their toes out?
Kelly advocates toes straight, so that is the ONLY way to properly squat.
>>41560344
Look at how much more lateral knee movement he achieves with toes out

Stuck at 25 sit ups
Am I doing something wrong? I'm not in great shape but I'm by no means fat.
I was blown up in Afghanistan not too long ago and broke both my legs.
I gained 40 lbs and lost it right after rehab.
I'm about 220 lbs at 6 ft in height.
Before the explosion and long 6 month absence of working out I dropped from 75 sit ups max to 25 sit ups
My push ups and run are basically the same but it seems I get tired so fast with sit ups.
Any advice to get it back up? I'm really worried because sit ups are a part of the army physical and I have one in 12 days
>>41559497
What country?
Does your army (and I'm assuming army) not have a physio/rehabilitation program?
What was damaged? If it was your upper legs that would explain it.
>>41559513
Lower legs.
Us and they do offer these rehab programs.
As a matter of fact the PT test for me will be optional since I'm still technically recuperating, having never failed one in my life I just don't want to fail it.
The injury on both legs was very near the joint between the foot and leg but it was a clear break without damaging any joints
Idk man I'm just so depressed I can't workout properly since it's the only thing I have in my life
You got blown up and aren't getting out? Obviously you didn't lose sny limbs if thats the case but what about muscle damage? If your core muscles are damaged thats the most obvious answer why. Just take your disability and run though man, military doesn't care if you're broken. They'll use and abuse you.
>wake up
>pull up shirt
>see this
How would you respond?
>>41559132
Go lift, as I would anyway
>>41559132

Wonder how my gym partner got in my house.
Which of these is better for a clean bulk?
WATER, no question.

I had a Stella apple cider 30 minutes ago and I'm about to gym it up.
What am I in for?
Don't go man, just wait. That's how my cousin died, exact brand and all. Something about hard cider really fucks up the way blood reaches your extremities and whatnot during hard exercise.
You've been warned.
You'll make negative gains, every rep you'll lose muscle
your in for yourself trying to chat up every guy at the gym until the cider leaves your system you fkn faggot.
cider... op is clearly a faggot
Would you guys rather own a restaurant or a gym?
>>41558848
what do you mean? all gyms in my area have a restaurant and conversly, all restaurants have gyms
OP is NOT gonna make it
>>41558848
Gym, at least I know that when people don't come back it's always their fault, rather than the food/service as is the case in a restaurant.
>>41558848
gym by far. even if lifting wasn't a hobby.
