I get a stinging pain in my back, left side ~6 inches above my glutes when I'm at the end of a hollow body hold. It doesn't feel like muscle soreness, but like something is in there and my body is tensing up on it.

Started going to the gym for the first time in years 4 days ago. Always been scrawny, always wanted to look ripped. Since I was 17 I always ran every weekend to stay skinny. Has anyone noticed that /fit/ isn't quite at the same level of quality as the /fit/ of 2010-2012? I came back here recently and it seems to me at least that there are a lot more threads ragging on insecurities like height, eye color, penis size and other things that you can't change and a lot less threads that talk about constructive ways to improve yourself.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this? Maybe my memory is bad but /fit/ seemed much more welcoming back in the day, especially for newcomers.

Used as an assistance exercise for deadlifts they're not as effective as say a speed deadlift or some kind of variation, because the motor pattern is different. On the other hand, most normies who don't do deadlifts don't train their erectors at all so, barely anyone does them, let alone recommend them.
But lots of powerlifters and Rippetoe too, recommend doing them.
