Alright /fit/, I have a dilemma that I can't solve on my own. The basics are, I work at a mexican resturaunt and I am too poor to eat anywhere else because food is free. What is a diet and matching exercise plan that only involves mexican food? I can purchase supplements, all chicken at the resturaunt is dark meat or mixed, gym is next door to my work and easy to get to. I know the basics of how to use pretty much everything at the gym, but have skipped going for the past three weeks. Any other advice appreciated.

Hey /fit/ I'm super depressed.
I've got a big herniated disc on l5-s1 (lumbo-sacral) and I basically can't walk properly anymore for the sciatica pain.

Though I have no big nerve problems so the doctors said to try with physiotherapy and drugs and to avoid surgery.

Anyone in similar conditions? Any success stories?

Same deal here, doctor said I should do pt before surgery because once surgery is done, you are fucked forever.
Took a year and a half to heal. Basically had to do a restorative yoga program. Similar to DDP yoga, so if there is no yoga place near you that does a similar program, just pick ddp up and do that.
The second part is to find a gym that has a reverse hyper machine and make that part of your regular training. Then do a bodyweight program. Check out the book overcoming gravity.
Lastly, no sugar and high fat diet if you are not already doing it. If you want your joints to heal and you don't consume the raw materials to let your body do the repairs, it will never happen. Jell-O, olive oil and avocados should be in your future.

Thanks man. I don't think I can start yoga now though. I can't stretch my left leg at all (just a bit) and it's very easy now to get pain when I move in general.

You said 1 year and a half, but how did you live in the meanwhile? Were you able to work and do your daily routine?

Hey /fit/, I'm not able to find a comprehensive plan that fits my needs. I'm a 200lbs out of shape 20 year old and am looking for an exercise and diet regimen to lose weight/get back in shape, but most regimens I find are focused on lifting/increasing strength etc. Obviously I'm going to be lifting as a part of my gym routine, but I want one more focused on weight loss + which involves 5-6 days of working out rather than just 3-4 days as these plans seem to. Diet too. Basically, spoonfeed me info please.

How many minutes do you guys spend running on a treadmill? Me personally I only do it about 10-15 minutes tops.

I aim for 3 miles which I run at 22.25.
But I typically pussy out and just do 2 mi - 15/16 mins.

I used to do that but then I felt like shit eating a ton the next day.

Just force yourself to eat your workout amount all the time and it'll get better.

Fat fuck trying to get into shape. What are your opinions on these? They kill me a lot, I feel much more tired doing this for 20 minutes than running 5k.

I checked out some interview on it, but the guy who was going on about how effective it was was basing all his finding on Lance Armstrong, who was on performance enhancing blood and drugs.

You think Cardio or this would be better? I'm looking to burn as many calories as possible.

This is a great beginner routine, its help me improve form on lifts especially the squat

Sup /fit/
So I had suregery 3 weeks ago, went back to the gym for the first time since, yesterday and felt great, did a few compunds with light weight just to get back into it.

Then I see my surgeon today for a follow up and he says I should not do any lifting for at least another 5 weeks and no cardio either because of swelling.
All I'm allowed to do is walk. This shit is making me crazy as gym was my main source of stress release.

Anybody here been through a similar situation? What did you replace gym with?
