is it even possible to over train your shoulders?
I mean its like the ultimate muscle group. It cant get too big. No matter how over developed your shoulders are, it always only makes you look better (unless youre a grill).

Hey guys, is it worth training if my calories intake is drastically below what's required for me?
I basically left my gf a week ago, I'm back to my parents home, I don't feel that bad but I can't fucking eat anything. I woke up at 9, now it's 12 and I'm still not hungry at all, I feel like I can't eat things. I think in like one week or two I could eat normally again, but is this worth burning the few calories I eat per day working out ? I'm doing bodyweight everyday, trying to escape skelly mode

exercising will cause u to burn calories and will make u hungry after. the only reason ur not hungry is because ur basically sedentary and ur body doesnt need the food.

How much weight? (Yes I'm an idiot but this seems the most difficult part of getting started)

I'm just starting SS, well before I can properly begin it I'm trying to figure how much weight I can do each exercise properly on. But I feel like i'm always either too much or too low.

If it's "just so you can barely do 5 reps" then my body can't finish those 5 reps on the next sets. Lowering down enough to be able to do 3 sets of 5, i feel i can do more than 5.

In order, which exercise requires the most weight?
Squat > Deadlift > bench > press = clean ?

Look just start with something thats too light and add 5kg the next workout or 2.5kg if its too much. Even if you think its too light and want to add more weight faster I promise you it will get heavy in a few weeks and you will stall and be forever dyel. So dont go 50 bench next day 60 next day you feel good and go 70 but then next day it gets hard and you go back to 60. Also new people always have garbage form like shaking and not performing every rep the same, you need to get those movements into your musclememory.
>>
>>41769357
You don't go to muscle failure on SS.
Start light, then add 2,5kg per side and session. If you fail in your third set just stay on that weight and try again next session. (Afaik).

Also what's /fit/'s opinion on negative/assisted reps?
>>
>>41769357
Start low, take a notebook with you and write down what you did. Just do linear progression and increase weight slightly each workout if possible.

Hello /fit/, I'm hoping you can aid me.

Longstory short, in High School from 2004 to 2007, I played football on my High School's team. I was an Offensive Guard and had earned the nickname Brickwall due to the fact running into me was like running into a brickwall. Towards the end of the 2007 season, I took a nasty tackle to my left shoulder, permanently injuring it to the point it hasn't healed even to this day. A bunch of shit happened, such as my girlfriend leaving me for my replacement on the team and all my 'friends' at the time abandoning me. I went into a food driven depression that lasted from 2007 to 2015.

In 2015, some kids at a tabletop gaming store I play Warhammer 40k at gave me the nickname Snorlax and that's when I realized it was time to change. I got myself a gym membership. I go three times a week, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, walking 4 miles to the gym and 4 miles back home. While at the gym, I lift weight in 4 thirty minute periods, with short breaks in the pool between and a rest in the steam room at the end.

I changed my diet, cutting out soda all together and sticking to drinking water or organic juices I make at home. I also removed junk foods, such as chips, ice cream and candy bars, and stopped my twice a week visit to this local fast food place that deep fries everything.

Back in January, I grew concern when my body showed no changes, beyond my breathing improving and the fact my shins are no longer flabby. So I began looking up guides online and nothing told me anything I didn't already know. I even checked out the Beginner's guide that's stickied here.

I'm 28 years old, stand at 5'11" and weigh 255 pounds. I actually gained weight, as I was 245 pounds when I started. My family has suggested I go see my doctor, but I was wondering if /fit/ can come up with anything for me to try first.

You're eating too much.

Use MyFitnessPal to track your caloric intake.
You will be surprised.
>>
Keto diet.
Saved my life it can save yours.
Zero bread, zero rice, zero potatoes. The only carbs you will eat are from leafy greens.
Lots of fatty meat l, eggs, and fish.
Lots of bullet proof coffee. Lots of bacon.
Boils down to zero sugar, low carb, good amount of protein and high fat.
It makes your body switch from burning sugar and carbs for energy to only burning fat for energy, basically turning you into a fat burning machine. Keep electrolights up in the beginning to avoid keto flu, I suggest picke juice

>I actually gained weight
Good, that's most likely muscle. Track your daily intake, calculate your TDEE and work your way down to a substantial deficit with most calories from protein and fat. I'd suggest dropping the juices as they're probably high in sugar. You'll be fine mate.

You're currently at 0.83 m/s. If you want to make it you need to swim as swiftly as a mako shark (hence the name), which is 20.56 m/s in bursts. Just increase your current speed roughly 25 fold and you're good.

I know exactly how you feel. Some fuck shit happens EVERY time I make the decision to be healthier and "get fit". You can't believe that that is fate though. We're all meant to be fit and healthy in this world, so don't give up.
>>
>>41768953

That sucks, but at least you can still do upper body.

I can literally do squats, maybe. Can't even do deadlifts. I know for a fact now that it tears when I do heavy flies, I'm never doing flies again in my life and I mean it this time.

It doesn't feel nearly as bad as it was last time so I'm taking the week off and just praying that next week it's better. If nto gonna kill myself tbqh.

How important are vegtables?

Do they aid you in making gains, strength etc?

I just started eating more of them. I now eat a banana and apple or orange and about two scoops(cups) of veggies(beens/carrots/broccoli)

Am I in for some major gains?
5 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Eat your veggies man they are full of micro-nutrients they will make you healthier and stronger
>>
>>41768847
you won't get that much gains from fruits and vegetables, they're more for nutrition and providing stuff meat can't so that when your body gets sick you can recover faster

fruits and vegetables are mostly for fiber and vitamins, not protein, so its more for losing weight than gaining muscle

So what about the argument of just taking a multivitamin instead of eating vegetables for your micronutrients?

Does the benefit come from the sigestability?
