How does the keto diet work?

I've looked up a decent amount online and I find a lot of conflicting information. I'm interested in trying it, but have no clue where to start.

I'm 5'9" and weigh 166, with little muscle on my body. I'm thinking my ideal skinny weight would be 135-140ish.

Also any tips or lessons learned from past experiences would be helpful.

keep it under 25g of carbs a day, the rest doesn't matter. keep a spreadsheet and weigh yourself once a week. take notes of your shortcomings and exercise differences from week to week. if something isn't working, you should see a pattern in what's going wrong.

Also, For a good balanced between having an aesthetic body, and good strenght, wich is better

Almost done. Is pic (my body) Skinnyfat, just plain sinny, or athletic (highly doubt the last one). 58kg and 170cm tall.

And last but not least, is it possible to get fit by doing only:

Compound: heavy exercises focusing on multiple muscle groups (squats, bench press, deadlift, OHP, erc)

Isolation: the opposite of compound, focus on one muscle group and typically lighter load.

Use belts on heavy compounds,don't buy one until you could achieve 1/2/3/4 because otherwise it isn't really needed.

18 years old
Shittiest metabolism to ever shit shit
Wrestling practice gives me 2-3 hours of hard cardio 5 days a week
Lift for an hour and a half 3 days a week
Still 17% body fat
No soda in a year, cut out ice cream way back, minimal carbs
Asked dad and he said he still had fat even when he went through green beret training, must be genetic
>Plan: Fast on water for 18 hours, have a single high protein lunch spread amongst the remaing hours, rinse repeat till at 12% body fat

How often should I be increasing my deadlift? Is it ok to add very small amounts of weight once a week?

If you really can only add small weight then deadlift less so you can add more every time. Squatting will raise your DL

Two questions:
How long has he been lifting for?
What did he look like when he started lifting?

If the first answer is 2-3 years or more, or if his starting point was very lean (skinny), then yes it was probably built naturally.

If he started skinny fat or fatfat, and hasn't been lifting for ~3 years, then no he probably isn't natty. He isn't huge, but it takes time as natural to build muscles like that and have a relatively low bodyfat percentage
