Do you guys ever wonder if there's more to life than just picking up heavy objects?
>>42854460
Nah your moms pretty fun.
Riding motorcycle and getting high off nature.
That's someone that doesn't workout would formulate
Working out is just an <1 hour 3 times a week, to do more then 89% of people.
Working out IS NOT hard. It is not a big part of your life.
It is the lazy fags that think it's a life commitment.
Working out is just an <1 hour 3 times a week won't make you a god, you won't be competing, but it is what most lifters do, and it's all you need if you stick with it week in and week out.
Do you listen to music while lifting? If so, what music gets your energy peaking?
>>42854456
Yeah, and sad music strangely motivates me more than upbeat music. This one is an example.

Lanklet here. 6'2 160 lbs, 19 almost 20 years old. I lifted over the summer and now that I'm back at school and have access to the real gym for free I'm doing SL with a few accessory lifts from ICF.
Over the past few days I've been working on establishing a daily diet to become a B I G G U Y or at least reach ottermode by next September.
If I add in another chicken breast at lunch to get up protein, I think I'll cut out the Iced Teas and just drink water. Do you think this is a good idea? I just want to be a sick cunt eventually.
Pic related my MS Word-based calculations of what I've been eating for the past week or so. It used to be with only one chicken breast at dinner and no protein bar at dinner, so I'm getting somewhat better at being not retarded.
>>42854424
2200 kcal a day and you think all you need to do is add in another fucking chicken breast to get big? my guy, at your height you should be bulking at 3500 calories minimum. 2200 is auschwitz tier.
>>42855277
That's not true. I bulk at 3500 and i'm 6'2" 200lb
>>42854424
>>42855277
>>42855327
But you do need to eat more. Try 3000 a day
How do you squat? What type/form?
How much weight do you squat?
How often do you squat?
For how long have you squatted?
Why do you not squat?
>>42854368
I'll go first.
I first started with the rippetoe-squatmornings, came up to 180 lbs, then my knee started to hurt. I switched recently to Matt Wennings technique (wider stance, knees out, head up). and I did 170 lbs for 5x5 today, will try again.
I've squatted for 1 year, but I broke my back and have had rehab. I squat 3 times a week now.
low bar not super low
just got 3 plates for 5 last time
2 times a week, 1 heavy 1 light day
15 months
i can never get the bar to sit on my back properly for low bars; it feels like my elbows are going to explode, so i don't do them
alternate between high bar back squats just below parallel and front squats
for anyone who has trouble with buttwink on high bar back squat: try to identify where your mobility is lacking and fix it by stretching. for me it was my ankles, and after stretching them regularly for a while my back squat feels a lot more comfortable. alternatively, you can also try putting a plate under your heels or buying squatting shoes
Hey /fit/ I recently started coming here a few months ago once I started actually taking my health serious. I've always been a lanklet and up until kind of recently I became a skinnyfat lanklet. Needless to say I've always been embarrassed to be seen without my shirt on. Recently I think I've been looking a little better but it's hard to judge yourself because you tend to see what you want to see more than what's actually there. Anyhow I'm going for otter mode and hopefully one day look like Brad Pitt in fight club so would you guys mind telling me how I'm doing? And give me pointers as to how I can improve my physique/ attain this aethestic.
Thanks bros

The foundation is there. You still need to lose some body fat and gain some muscle. For now I'd say: continue with whatever it is your doing, only slightly reduce your caloric intake (drop around 250 kcal) until the desired result is reached. Those 250 kcal you eat less should only be fat and/or carbs, keep your protein intake.
>>42854567
Thanks or the advice. Should I do more cardio? I've kind of been slacking because I've been focusing more on just lifting weights and trying to build muscle mass
>Failed OHP in my final rep for two consecutive workouts now
>Only 80lbs
Tell me it's going to be okay, /fit/.
>>42854133
That's pretty bad m8 but keep trying.
EAT MORE
I made my best press gains when I ate less
I normally workout every other day but feel tired as hell lately, can't even squeeze out my sets. I think it's depression. Is it okay to stop for like a whole week to balance myself out before starting again or will I lose all my gains? I just have nothing to live for, so it's difficult to muster the hope and energy to lift.
>>42853963
Better to have a shitty workout then none. Take a deload week if you have to.
>>42853963
Switch it up. Lift, but don't follow any routine just do whatever the fuck you want to do. Bonus points if you just do sports instead of lifting, biking outside, skating, basketball at the park, running, anything you don't normally do. Your lack of novelty is giving you the depressions, once you switch it up a bit you can get back to any routine you would like.
Definitely do not stop lifting OP
Severely /depressed/ here myself as well. Lifting is the only thing that has recently helped. Get engrossed in it, because if you stop you'll just lose those gains, get fat and feel even worse. Not to mention you lose the great mood and hormone regulating effects of lifting.
It's a slippery slope OP, don't stop working out but like other anon said maybe switch it up too.
I recently went to the doctor and found out I have low testosterone. I was worried this was what was causing me so have some sexual libido issues. I'm 26 and overweight, but I'm losing it and lifting 3 times a week now. In just a month I've lost 10 pounds but all my lifts have skyrocketed, and I can see the difference in my chest, shoulders, and arms especially. I'm cutting sugar and carbs out as much as possible. I still eat too much, but it's at least not garbage.
But the low test worries me. I'm not balding and I definitely don't feel like I have low T besides the libido thing, although that HAS improved since I started lifting.
What natural ways can I encourage my body to produce more T? Things to eat, maybe take vitamins? Yes, I already googled, but as I'm sure you may know, googling "how to increase testosterone" isn't exactly a way to get scientific, actual facts.

So you though you'd ask an anonymous mongolian basketweaving forum?
Can you make long term progress on machines as oppose to barbells?
>>42853927
progress on what, how to move cables in a fixed motion?
Holy shit, nastalgia just hit me hard as fuck. I need to replay this game. But for your question, once your past noob gains, machines should always be accessories

>>42853956
>>42853957
Proof that it doesn't work long term?
I don't care how hot you are, I'll never do cardio. Lifting is all I will ever do, try to change my mind, you can't. I hate running, I hate cardio, I hate high intensity. I've been lifting casually and already getting stronger, why should I care if I'm fat and strong if I can still mess up the average pussy?
>>42853851
because you look like a bloated pig
>>42853851
I wish i could get fatter but my metabolism is too fast and i hate eating like a pig
>>42853859
Thing is, I could pick you up but you couldn't pick me up. What now?
Losing fat > gaining muscle

>>42853833
Sauce me and I will
As a fatfag you are right but only if you gained muscle for a year or two otherwise you will look weak

my boss just made me zoom this in and said that since the nipples and butthole arn't directly viewable he won't fire me this time.
thanks for the consideration anon.

linxxx?
Is there any way to trick your body into thinking you're always sleeping so it's constantly producing the enzymes that heal muscles. That way you can do full body work outs every single day.
Just so full body workouts every day regardless. Whatever it takes, god damnit! Right babe?
>>42853577
If someone knew of a way to do this, it would have been used by bodybuilders a long time ago.
I always wanted some sort of brain pump that processed the blood in your brain. You could just clean your blood of melatonin so you never needed to sleep. If this was possible it'd be billion dollar tech.
Memes aside, how many people at your gym hit 1234 for reps?
this is fucking stupid
this is still fucking stupid
I go to a big LA Fitness with ~700 members and, of the ones I see regularly, ~25% of them hit 1/2/3/4. Most everyone else is there is 1/1.75/2.5/3
