How good/bad is it to do lifts outside your routine on rest days?

Like, for example, if I'm a few weeks into starting strength, and I have a really bad urge to head to the gm and do some dumbell workouts like curls and flies.

is that bad?

its fine to do accessory exercises on rest days. Just make sure to replace TDEE.
Actually, its stated in PP that beginners have ability to recover within 24-48 hours so you might be recovered fully by the next day.

I do. I'll do curls and shoulder workouts between sets on the bench, for example. I like the idea of doing accessories, but would they be more helpful during/right after SS routine, or on alternating days?

I'm mainly trying to satisfying this addictive need I have to keep lifting. I've literally never felt this in my life, so to have that motivation is nuts for me. My body does feel like it needs rest from the starting lifting and significant cardio I've been doing, but I haven't taken a day off in three weeks and feel I probably should.

But my fucking arms are begging me to go lift, even if they still feel a bit sore.

Yeah, i guess, start using a band for assisted pull ups, it will start strengthening your back muscles (focus on your middle traps, they stabilize the whole movement) and you gonna be able to perform more pull-ups

Keep in mind you're lifting your own weight, if your fat and muscle proportions are shit you won't be able to pull up for 15 reps unless you start losing weight

pull ups are way easier the less you weigh. you really can easily increase them by 5-10 reps just by losing 15 lbs. but if you really want to get better then just keep hammering them out to failure every day.

yeah, it will take less than a month. pull ups, push ups and chin ups get exponetially easier if you do them daily. I went from 2 to 24 chin ups in two weeks.

How are you holding /fit/? I just realised that I lost alll motivation to train after almost 8 years of working out. I don't enjoy it anymore. Basically, I don't enjoy anything anymore. I dont enjouy movies, training, videogames, music, even banging random sloots isn't fun. Fucking hell, even drugs don't bring joy that much.
I was fat fuck in my school years, now I look better than 90% of population, I have work, I'm trying to make money, but I don't even know what for. I don't have that much of the family, basically mom, grandpa and grandma. I have only like 3 friends and no gf ofcourse.
I just want to say that for the last 6 month every fucking day my first thought in the morning is why in the fuck do even need to get up and go train or do some shit? Nobody gives a fuck and I too don't give a fuck, honestly.
I know that all this sounds pathetic, but I just feel trapped in some fucking cage, and I don't know how to get out and I probably just don't want to try anymore.

So I am a 5ft 8in 136lbs 20 year old who started to workout, run, and eat healthy about 4 months ago and I have since lost 30 pounds. My girlfriend is super opposed to me getting in shape and has told me to put the weight back on because it is making her feel bad about herself to see me doing well. I am more energetic and am happier with myself but she constantly tries to get my to break my diet and not exercise. I don't know why she is so against me getting in shape.
