Am I just freaking out over nothing, /fit/?

I'm a newfag. Let's get that out of the way. But I don't feel comfortable bothering anyone I actually know with my pathetic quivering, so anon is my only hope.

One month, one week, two days. I've finally done it. I've joined a gym. I've established a diet. I've created a routine. And for the first couple weeks, I had progress. Weight was falling. Real, measurable results.

But it's been a couple more weeks, and I'm not seeing any change. Nothing in my routine is different. I'm going to continue, but is this worth worrying over or am I just freaking out for nothing?

For the curious: 336 lbs. Diet comprised of 1,200 calories. Meals typically include egg, lean meats (chicken, turkey), and servings of fruits and vegetables. Exercise includes 30min treadmill at maximum incline, plus 30 minutes of high intensity, low repetition weights across most muscle groups. I go to the gym every other day, and alternate which areas I work.

I'm seriously stupid here. Never even tried to fuck with weight loss before this. But I want it. And I want to make it happen, and I want to do it and not only do it, but do it right.

So yeah... panic, or nah?

Here's a story

There's no one magic bullet. We basically have too get the next few generations of people cooking the majority of their meals for themselves. We can do stuff through government, like reducing corn subsidies to raise the price of anything with HFCS, or we can increase spending on education, but for the most part, we're stuck until people start treating being fat the same as having smoker's lung.

I tried figuring out my 1RM today for back squat for the first time.

I hit 255 and failed at 285. When I failed I felt a lot of little pops in my lower back. It doesn't hurt right now but feels maybe a little strained.

Should I be ok?

What do you guys do when someone asks to work in between your sets?

Today was leg day and I denied some dyel from squatting in my squat rack.

>warming up for my 5x5 2.5pl8 ATG 2 sec pause squats
>just finished my second warm up set
>unracking the weight while I spot some dyel in the mirror literally creeping up on me
>he stands way too close to me
>i can feel his breath
>he is wearing gasp tights on his dyel twig legs
>squats in air max shoes
>removes my earbuds to see what the dyel wants
>"hey how many sets do you have left?"
>"alot, just warming up"
>"ok... can i work in between your sets?"
>"eeeh I'd rather not" while adding pl8s to the bar and not looking at him
>"why?"
>"because I don't want to remove the pl8's between every set"
>put my earbuds back in and get ready for my next warm up set

Was I beeing a dick? Is it ok to deny someone from working in between your sets? I feel no obligation to let someone (especially a dyel) work in between my sets. Beat it, dyel.

Hey /fit/, /g/ here.
I have to lose about 50 pounds in 120ish day or i might die. Doctor told me he did not care and i have no family, My heart might fail sime time next year due to me being fat. I can calculate all the numbers but it means nothing compared to a real experience. I need help. I can easly do a 700 cal a day diet with rice/veggies/fish and run 4 miles out side a day (or even 8). Im 6'4 and 270. I need to get to 220 or lower before the doctor will take me serious. Please help me fit, i dont want to die. Will this work?

I would bike instead of run. Or really swimming would be optimal if you have a pool, since you are a rich comp sci motherfucker. At 6'4" and 270, running would be very hard on your joints. Once you get to about 190 you could start running, but just being that tall you really should be careful with high impact cardio like running on concrete.

But you can do it bud. If it's life and death I'm sure you have it in you and you'll be pleased with your results. Once you hit your goal weight, keep going! Drop all the way to 170-180 and you'll feel like an absolutely new man.
