I want to get my teeth bleached. They are fucking yellow and they keep me from being chad. Anyone experience with teeth whitening? At home or professional?
Also does it hurt?
My teeth are really sensitive.
To keep this fitness related what is your favorite lift?
>>42104230
Used crest white strips a few times. They work but do make teeth more sensitive, also it seems they kinda melt off a very thin top layer of your teeth. I imagine if you would use them for years they would fuck up your teeth. Go to a professional.
>>42104230
Whitening strips work pretty well but you won't get that obnoxiously white smile until after like 20 days of daily treatments. You will after like one professional teach bleaching. I did a 10 day round of whitening strips and removed alot of old coffee and cig stains. I'll probably do another 10 here soon.
Just brush them dude. Geez
Reminder: this is literally all you need to optimally build muscle and metal plates are for faggots seeking validation.
>b-b-but I'm too strong for bands
No, you're not. You're training in a stupid rep range and you will never become too strong for doing 10 or so reps with a band. Sources: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24983847
http://jap.physiology.org/content/121/1/129
> b-b-but bands have a resistance curve, it's not natural and my muscles will become imbalanced!
News flash Dorothy: your muscles have a strength curve and movements have a resistance curve based on levers. You can use bands to strengthen all points in the curve by using bands with different resistances and modifying the tension.
>b-b-but I can't do linear progress
Yes, yes you can. You've been brainwashed into thinking it's impossible to progress without putting more or heavier plates on a bar. This is false. Simply all you need to is perform reps in a set x rep scheme to muscular fatigue and bands are better because you can do more reps while fatigued without fearing failure. There's no eccentric so you have much less chance of injury too and you aren't limited by gravity so you can push and pull and hit the muscles from every conceivable angle. Stop thinking in terms of how much weight you progress and start thinking in terms of performing each set to failure and nothing else.
Bands are portable, inexpensive and highly effective. There's nobody on planet earth too strong for them.
If you are happy with weights don't mind me keep using them but if not or you have nothing else then I highly recommend you look into bands.

Do you work out at home?
I've never seen a resistance band at my gym and I can't imagine the hate you'd get if you're not 2/3/4/5 and you pull out a resistance band.
But fuck them if it works, problem is you're not 100% correct (not wrong, just not right)
The resistance curve of a band is proportional to the stretch (strongest when fully stretched) levers are constant, other machines are different. Look at the pully based quad machines, they have a cam that changes in width in a way that I assume is meant to optimize gains.
/fit/ weeb here, I jam to tunes from anime and vidya gaymes while I lift. Anyone else? What tunes do you recommend?
Quick examples, I do themes from Berserk, Ghost in the Shell, Nier series, boss music from a ton of RPGs, etc.

Welcome to running general. Didn't see a thread about running so I decided to make one. All things running related post in this thread. What's your mile time /fit/? Mine is 5:45 atm.
9 min mile. I usually run for an hour 6 miles.
I'm a beginner looking to run 6 miles at a 9 min pace
I weigh 230 @ 6'2" and I'm cut enough to see abs without flexing. Is this a good starting program?
Monday:
2 mile run (easy effort, conversational pace)
Tuesday:
OFF running day, other workouts, strength etc
(good day to ride 60 - 90 minutes)
Wednesday:
Hill Repeats: start with 10:00 easy jog as warm up
then 7 x 50m hill sprint, walk down
Thursday:
OFF running day, other workouts, strength etc
(good day to ride 60 - 90 minutes)
Friday:
Track: start with 10:00 easy jog as warm up
2 miles (8 laps) sprint straights, walk curves
Saturday:
OFF running day, other workouts, strength etc
(good day to ride 60 - 90 minutes)
Sunday:
4 mile run (easy effort, conversational pace)
Does anyone else get a problem with teeth hurting when they run?
>have good shoes
>run on grass where I can
>brush teeth twice daily
>dentist says teeth are fine
why is that everyone on /fit happens to be 6ft?
e-stating
insecurity
constantly have to reiterate being 6' or more so that they get validation from others
meanwhile I'm just a 5'10 manlet but I got a qt gf so it's ok
Probably because there are a lot of whites and we are on average, taller than the brown hordes.

Almost no difference. Come back in three years.
>says CICO is the only thing that matters
>Has a protein macronutrient goal
Look, I'm tired of morons just spouting CICO all the time. Yes I understand thermodynamics, yes if all you care about is PURELY THE NUMBER ON THE SCALE then CICO is fine, but we already accept that eating protein helps increase lean body mass (therefore must limit fat mass due to thermodynamics) you must then accept that other macronutrients can also have an affect (positive and negative) on your body composition.
For example, we know that fructose compared to glucose has an effect on triglyceride and LDL cholesterol levels
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2682989/
This means if you eat lots of fructose, the body will try and store more fat, and so if you are on a deficit, and you follow thermodynamics, if the body is trying to store more fat, it must be losing mass from other places i.e. muscle, organs, etc.
We could then look at all types of macronutrient and micronutrient and see how is affects the body, but we don't actually need to do this, do we? Everyone already knows how to eat healthy and how to eat unhealthy, and the literal drooling morons who just go MUH CICO THIS PIZZA HITS MUH MACROS should be ignored as the morons they are.

Does /fit/ ever use punching bags for their workouts?
If so then what are some tips for a /fat/ thinking about buying one?
Unless you actually know how to box/have good punching form you're only going to compound your shit form by doing it over and over. Just jump rope for 20 minutes a day
>>42108765
I used to do Tae and they taught us good punching form, I was just wondering about the health benefits of it
I want her to tie me up and force me to cum all day
Hey /fit,/ I'm going to start college in September and I've been doing Stronglifts 5x5 for 3 months. I'm going to be in the ROTC program at my college and that means I'll have to do a drill 3 mornings each week, including calisthenics and running.
Rippetoe and others tell beginning lifters to avoid extra exercises and running, in order to prevent training injuries and gain mass quicker. Is there a good workout program for somebody who is a beginner but also doing an hour of calisthenics and running M/W/F? If not, how would I modify Stronglifts to make it fit?
you need to check the entire volume of your workouts to be certain you can train your major muscle groups. does ROTC pay off as far as your gains? i would skip personal gains if ROTC is offered by my university
>>42108675
you're beautiful, why would you start stronglifts?
>>42108746
I doubt ROTC would provide enough gains. It's an hour of mixed cardio and full body work, so I doubt it would be the same as working out in a gym.
Most people with whom I've spoken who are involved in ROTC say that they both do the ROTC PT and lift in the afternoon- but the lifting these people do is a lot of curls, machine work and the like with little real progression.
