Hey guys I recently started lifting and but I've had this problem for a while I have a disproportionate belly that's really embarasing. It starts smaller in the morning but it's just ridiculous after some food. Is this just bloating? Anyone suffer from this? Anyone recover?

Is there anything wrong with eating 4 of these patties a day? Each patty has 200 calories and 400 mg of sodium, so nothing too overboard. It's most processed food hence why I'm asking but it says it has 0 trans fat, so.

Okay /fit/, I need a reality check. I need to know if my genes are so trash I should stop lifting.
I have worked out three to four times a week for two years and this is the body I have to show for it. I look like fucking garbage. To be fair, I cut my entire first year, 177 ---> 122, and I'm now 143 after bulking for about the last year. I'm 5'8", 21yo.
I'm doing the Greyskull LP, I can post it in the comments if anyone is unfamiliar. When I started I did SS. For about a year I did the Starting Aesthetics routine that appears here every once in a while. I never miss gym days. Don't do any cardio.
My lifts are (sets of five):
Bench: 125
OHP: 95
Row: 155
Squat: 215
DL: 255
Currently I'm eating 1800-1900 calories in a likely futile attempt to try to lean out a handful of pounds before trying to build again. Near the end of my bulk I was eating 2400-2500. I get anywhere from 140-190g protein daily depending on if I'm cutting or bulking.
This is fucking unacceptable. Even if my diet and my workouts were perfect, this is not what someone who has lifted for two years should look like. Those are not the numbers that someone who has lifted for two years should be lifting. I need it straight, /fit/, am I simply not cut out for this? Should I spend my time doing something I can be good at?
I like working out a lot. The feeling during and after a workout is fantastic. I just am not seeing any results and am wondering whether my time is better spent somewhere else.

Is training for "hypertrophy" a real thing? Do you essentially have fake muscles that are only for show when you do? Like, they're just bloated and without any real density, strength or explosivity?
Hypertrophy is for overall muscle development.
in contrast to strength, where the goal is to get strong at certain lifts, hypertrophy is at higher rep ranges, less weight and focusing on form. When you train hypertrophy, you want 10-12 reps 4-5 sets, focus on the muscle contractions and build that mind muscle connection.
For strength, you are better off training at higher intensities, about 5 reps or so on the main compound lifts, for 3-5 sets, as heavy as you can.
Strength is mostly neurological adaptation, as well as proper form. You don't need to be huge to lift heavy, you just need the muscles involved in that particular lift to be strong, the nervous system to be firing at the correct frequency (proper neural pathways need to be built).
That isn't to say bodybuilders can't be strong, or that powerlifters can't be muscular. However certain types of training are optimal depending on what results you are looking for.
Also roids will get you big and strong no matter what you do, so theres always that if you want a shortcut.

Yes training for hypertrophy is a thing, but just because you're main goal is size doesn't mean you aren't going to gain some strength in the process. You're still training your cns and muscles and will get stronger, just not at the same level as someone training specifically for strength.
Genuine hypertrophy, as in a measurable increase in the cross-sectional muscle fibers and not a sac full of injected oil, generally accompanies at least a marginal increase in the collective potential strength output. Denser type II fibers lower the chance of injury, and in some organized contact sports, having a higher muscle-based weight is necessary to avoid getting manhandled. Greater skeletal muscle weight on the bones, in moderation, can condition them to be less prone to breaking down with age
It's not equivalent to training that is specifically aimed at more explosive power or collective muscle fiber recruitment, but it has its uses.

I've been diagnosed with alcohol intolerance because of my IBS-C.
