>tfw lowerback pain
>tfw gonna squat anyway
Injury is a meme to the Saiyan warrior race.
TELL ME, DOES A POWERLIFTER LIKE YOURSELF EVER EXPERIENCE BACK PAIN?!
Please don't. Take a break from heavily loading your lower back. I messed up from this before and had to miss months.
Take a month out heavy lifting and take up some yoga or swimming on the side, it helps a lot.

Bet you won't be repeating that shit from a hospital bed.
How do I fix my posture?
SS
>>42185917
Average case of APT. Stretch your hamstrings - look at hinges, touching your toes and the stretch where you cross one leg over the other. Also stretch glutes, do bridges. Hip flexors - butterflies, tactical frogs, sumo deadlift stance holds with elbows pushing knees out
Practice pushing your chest out while squeezing your glutes in
>>42185959
Also retract your shoulders. Makes gravity work in your favor keeping you uprigth
>tfw I failed a 405 lb PR attempt on squat yesterday
It's going to be ok... right, /fit/?
Yeah.
If your first failure came at 405, then you're doing fucking great bruh. Don't worry about it.

>tfw I catastrophically failed squats at babbyweight today (92.5kg 5/5/4/2/0) despite blasting out a weight only 2.5kg lighter on Sunday
>tfw I failed diddly the first time today (did 60kg > 80 kg > 92.5 kg x5 and then did 102.5kg x 4); I could have gotten the last rep but i would have been using my back almost entirely and i didn't want to snap my shit up at such an early level
I managed to hit my OHP (42.5kg) and
>barbell curl (30kg)
today though.
Its not much but I started out ENTIRELY subpar and am only a few kg on bench press away from being le blue man.
I don't even know why I failed when I shat out the weights on Sunday. I think my sleep might have been bad... Who knows.
>snapped my lower back doing a 255 lb sumo DL when my max at the time was 275 x5 conventional.
>snapped my knee doing 2 pl8 squat
Is there anything I can add to the "Stripped 5x5" program I found via the sticky that can give me a better butt? It seems like a nice easy to start program but a bit lacking in the ass-department.
bumping this
Just google it jeez

I'm heading to New York for about 5 days later this summer, and I plan on going to some good restaurants down there. But tell me, /fit/, how am I supposed to know the calorie content of shit I eat at a restaurant that doesn't have nutrition information? I mean, most of the time when I ask people how to handle stuff like that, they say "look up the info online," but is tracking food with a phone really a sustainable way to stay in shape long-term? Any advice here? I've been struggling with the whole concept of not tracking shit for a long time now.
>>42185805
You can ask them if they know or guesstimate it. Usually if you are going to eat out and you are going to eat like shit, you dont track it.
How about stop being autistic and don't worry about it?
You're there for 5 days, even if you binged like a fat fuck every day you aren't going to do much damage.
>>42185805
If you really wanted to track it.
Food scale and look up calories per/grams online.
Honestly though, don't worry too much about it. If it's a big problem for you, just fast all day and binge out once a night. Truly that sounds horrible. Just enjoy it, only 5 days, you'll be fine.
Okay /fit/. Do any of you have labrum issues such as a torn or injured labrum. How has this affected your lifting career? What are the symptoms and challenges that you face? If you have managed to overcome this injury how did you do it? do you do anything on a regular basis to help keep your shoulder healthy? Have you had to drop certain exercises from your routines? Do you experience any elbow pain in your arm that you believe is caused by the labrum tear?
I have been plagued with with this fucking shitty existence for 5 years now. I Lost 5 years of gains because I got so depressed and stopped lifting. The worst decision I have ever made. Please provide me with some guidance and support others who have these issues. Thanks /fit/
Nobody?
I currently have a torn left labrum. Tore it the first time in high school and then tore it again on my 21st birthday. Got surgery after the first time, but haven't gotten it fixed again. Lifting honestly hasn't been too bad with it. There are some exercises that cause discomfort for sure, but nothing awful. I don't really do anything to rehab it. Hope this helps.
I noticed a lot of manlet hate on 4chan and people bringing up height. And the only people that I know who bring up their height negatively are manlets....It all makes sense now.
seems like every popular program does not have the majority of /fit/ (85%<) approving of it
>SS?
check
>5x5?
check
>TM?
check
>5/3/1?
check
Some of them aren't that hated, but still aren't generally agreed on, on /fit/
PPLPPLx
A majority is 51%, and 85% of fit doesn't even lift.
All programs work, although the best ones are the ones that the trainee can do with proper form and consistency.

No
All YouTubers (even the ones who look like shit) are on at least a low-moderate dosage of some kind of PEDs
>TFW not anywhere near buff enough to cosplay as Saxton Hale... can anybody here pull it off?
>friends all think I'm lifting to look great when we go swimming
>actually lifting so I can do cosplays that require muscles
>cosplaying as a character from a now irrelevant game that became part of the lore in the update that ruined the game
Interesting
why dont you guys cosplay people with jobs

What determines if your pecs look like firmer manboobs or if they "connect" to your shoulders in that aesthetic way? BF%, chest size, or just doing some specific exercises? Started working out a little while back and i've got people saying "wow anon you've gotten nice pecs" if im wearing a shirt but if i look myself in the mirror it's flab city. I do bench/incline bench/dips/db flies.
push up stands are a must for building your pecs at home, but if your working with flab as well think about your diet too.
>>42185529
pec genetics determine the shape of your chest. People also store fat differently, so you might store a lot in your chest compared to others.
Upper chest development mainly. Zac Efron has better pecs now btw.
I'm trying to find a no-frills gym with nice squat racks and other resistance training areas.
What search terms would you recommend?
How do I filter the options that I have to ones worth checking out?
Also pic related in case anyone knows of a good one near here. Thanks.
Are you telling me you don't know how to look up "gym" near you on Maps or whatever, and then see which ones have the best ratings and reviews?
>>42185604
I tend to get a lot of results that are less weightlifting gym and more mom's fitness class. The ones that look like weightlifting gyms all have pretty mixed reviews.
Just looking for some insight/experienced advise.
>>42185634
Ah
I usually just go there and try working out and see for myself what it's like. They'll usually offer you one session free or something
