not sure if this has come up before but i had a good workout earlier and took in a good protein shake with some frozen fruits and greens and later on proceeded to get drunk and puked up in the toilet what appeared to be some berry puree...now im just worried that the shake didn't digest fully in the about 4-5 hours in between taking it and yacking.

any advice?

I had a needle jabbed into my popliteus during physio after I strained it, shit was so cash
>>
I had it done on my back, had several knots and it took about 3 of 4 sessions to get them out.
Shit works great, it however is one of the most unpleasant feelings i have ever felt. No pain, just really unnerving.

>>42240670
Hurt like fuck, and it felt and loved like I got hit by a baton for a couple of days.

But after that I felt great, lost the stiffness in that muscle.

So after longer than I'm willing to admit with a freestyle approach to lifting, I've finally started looking at doing a program, likely SS or 5X5. The one thing that confuses me though, is if I'm reading these right, it says to do one weight for all 5 sets, then increase in the next day. After so long of building up to my max, it seems weird to do the same weight for all sets. Anyone want to weigh in on if this is normal or if I'm a mong who can't read good?

>>42240658
doesnt matter, stick with it. its a fucking beginning program, you wont be thinking back about it after half a year or a year from now on. The only people preoccupied with this shit are newbies themselves.
Do accessories with SS
>>
What are you asking? You do some warm up sets, then you get to your "working sets" which are 3x5 where you use the same weight. Then on your next work out you add 2.5kilo or whatever and you do 3x5. You repeat this until you are the hulk.
>>
>>42240658
Yeah, do warmup sets and then do your top weight for the other sets. I recommend 3x5 for everything and then a higher volume compound, so say you pair bench with a bunch of pushups or db presses, going for 10 reps min and like 12 reps max. Maybe 15 if you're a MADMAN

Although I disagree with the basic assumption re: mires cannot be a scale of personal accomplishment, I agree that the the true 'mire is found in the pleasure of personal accomplishment. Look at yourself as you step out of your shower and see your accomplishment. /fit/ should bow only to what it delivers and nothing more

Kant is good and all and the categorical imperative is nice, but the man was still like totally autistic. Not normal autism either, Prussian autism at that.

You can trust him on ethics and epistemology, but anything relating to women and relationships? lol

Okay so fit must know about clubs right? so last three times i went to clubs i always found some girls to dance with that were qte.14 and madeout with them.

So this time friend told me to go to new club and entire night couldn't find any qte to dance with or hookup with. What the fuck gives?

the girls in this new club were all white and im not (i look like the rock but not as big) and my strength is 1/2/3/4. Entire night i began enjoying myself less and less the more i tried interacting with girls but met with rejection. None of my mates hooked up either.

I'm a guy. Very bottom heavy. I have long legs, a phantasmic hip region, and an awkwardly short upper body. Tall, thin built, but with shoulders. Are lats my only option? I don't want to build a mansion, but I'd like to fix my outline. Diet doesn't seem to be the proper solution, and I'm not trying to leave DYEL mode. I'm just tired of pulling up jeans and pulling down shirts in order to disguise my pelvic region. (I'm flipphone so pic whompwhomp). I hate /fa/ and I'd like to fix this by taking real action.

>lift to try to better myself
>feel weak and little progress
>after a while change my mentality and lift cause i hate myself and tfw no gf
>feel somewhat stronger and more gains
Why does this work?
6 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
because ultimately you are not meant to make it, and the few gains you see motivated by >tfw no gf are only meant to trick you into thinking the effort might be worth it for you
you will continue posting here as years go on, having made mediocre progress on your fitness and next to none socially, and wonder why nothing has changed for you
you will post your stats, strength, or CBT, and ask "how could i possibly not have a girlfriend? what do i need to do?"
the answer to that question lies in the fact that lifting to try to better yourself didn't "work" for you.

Ok /fit/ fucktards, what's wrong with me?

A couple of years ago I was in a pretty good place physically: I went to the gym, worked out at home, did regular sports. And although I wasn't yet in my ideal body, i was still pretty fit, with great physical condition and endurance. It was the best I had been in many years, at least.

But then shit happened in my life that made me change my regular rutine, and when I tried to get back to my old habits I found it incredibly hard. I wouldn't get up to go to the gym. I would get tired and dizzy when I would go lift, to the point I will start yawning a lot and even sometimes get very mild headaches. I couldn't get the motivation to workout at home or do any cardio, and when I did, I couldn't bring myself to finish it due to tiredness or just feeling sick of it (mentally and physically). I now try to avoid excercise whenever I can when it used to bring excitement to my life. Now I just spend most of the day laying down telling myself that "tomorrow is the day I'll be fit again."

Does anyone know what's happening to me?

For the record: Yes, I am severly depressed for stuff that's happened in the past.
But I used to be too when I was working out. But now I also get headaches, extreme tiredness and pain, so I don't know if it's a medical condition or not.

You are lacking discipline. You need to train your mind to just do what needs to be done.

Here's how you can fix that, but you've got to do this TODAY. If you want another day, you'll just get on the whole "tomorrow is the day I'll be fit again." cycle again. Use your motivation to train your discipline.

If you are at home right now, I would recommend you to do this now. It's a quick exercise, but it works like wonders:

* Go to bed and set the alarm clock randomly to the next 3-5 minutes;
* Close your eyes and rest.
* Once the alarm goes of, stretch your arms and legs as fast as possible, jump out of bed and shut down the alarm.

Do this 5 times and do a last time with a 15min alarm. Also, try to do this tomorrow morning.

Eventually this will become a natural reaction and you'll get out of bed as soon as the alarm goes of. No more fooling around.

Tomorrow you are going to wake up 1h30m earlier than usual (use the trick above) to work out.

Set an alarm clock to `wake up time - 8h`. Once that alarm goes of, turn off all screens and go to bed. you can take your time to drink some milk, go to the bathroom, brush your teeth, etc. just don't look at your phone/tablet/computer/books.

NO EXCUSES:
* This is super early and you won't feel tired. It doesn't matter, your body will get used to it.
* This takes a lot of your free time. It also doesn't matter, you can make up for the lost time tomorrow.

If your gym is closed at that time/you have no gym membership, just do the r/bodyweightfitness recommended routine: https://www.reddit.com/r/bodyweightfitness/wiki/kb/recommended_routine

Do the whole routine. If you are too tired for a certain exercise, just deload,

If you feel too tired to go to work just take a caffeine pill and try to hang on through the day, it will get easier.

Don't forget to eat a decent breakfast.

Now you just have to wake up early 3 times a week. You'll eventually fail and slack off, but you'll be much better when that day comes.

HELP /FIT/. ive been struggling with back pain for years due to sports. i've been lifting and by now i've had enough back strains, disc pains etc. that i defs know what is wrong and right in terms of proper posture for the lifts. i've grown up in snap city so ive lived by my favourite moto: "if you have no problems you are either dead or you're sleeping".
there's always one thing i've never had down: bracing the core. lately ive finally felt like bracing has been "taking stress off my back". but around two weeks ago i had another back strain. "no biggie, nothing new here".
but no it was a new thing. anyway i move to try and diagnose where the disc strain is has not complied with my understanding of back pain. i gave it a week and then felt confident enough to train because loading the spine wont hurt it.
after training i noticed that when i go for the belly breath i feel the strain at the most relaxed point but it goes away when i tense to finalise the bracing movement. *point recorded in head*
another training session and same pattern occured. after two days of rest (some fine doms in the legs) and ready for next session it hit me: it wasnt pain from the back at all! Fuck.
my mind muscle connection to this thing has finalised: in the low back side of ribs area. if i belly breath when i reach the point where the belly is at its max balloon-ness it hurts.
final verdict: i probs have something wrong with my diaphragm.
have anons experienced this before?
how long did it take to heal?
do i need treatment or just time off?
do anons even feel their bodies like i do?
have anons worked their heads around injuries like this?
tfw when under 20 yrs age and back already feels like you're 50.

I was about 20 years when i started having similar problems like you. My training and lifestyle led to great stress on my back (a lot of sitting down and improper form). My single best tip is to train abs/core like a motherfcker. The more "awake" your abs are, the less stress on the back. Also, don't do exercises that feeds this unhealthy stress, even if it means having to alter your program greatly. Final tip: keep working on having good posture (tons of how to videos online). Give it time, and improvements will come. Hope this helps :)
>>
>>42241382
Thanks anon and absolutely. But right now I aren't training cos of this diaphragm thing. I can't even sneeze. I breathe in for the sneeze and once the breath gets too big the stain pain comes and the sneeze just cancels.

lul, even if you are beginner you are only working at like 95% maybe one set out of 5? If you have to grind reps as a beginner you are doing it wrong. You shouldnt have to struggle with reps until you are like 5/4/3/2 or have shit form

the only reason these idiots don't get hurt as much is because they are lifting relatively low weights
>>
If it weren't for the price tag, I'd seriously consider doing this just because the HIIT aspect seems like you can drop weight quicker. that plus the class/team mentality would make it easier to stick to
>>42240842
the low weight would be key, would never try to do heavy ass shit.

but in the end the ego of everyone ive met that does crossfit and the price tag was more than enough to leave it alone
