My boxing coach suggested it cause he said my footwork(as well as cardio) is holding me back and my weakest points. When I'm not poor anymore I will be joining, so end of summer/start of autumn.
Being able to dance with qts is just a benefit.
Salsa class was great to me. After a couple months, I was good enough that all the girls (even if they came with their husband/bf) would all want to dance with me because I was way smoother and more fun than any of the other dudes who only go once or twice and don't take it even half-way seriously.

Can somebody please explain something for me I can't find the answer elsewhere (not even sticky).
Why is it that people say you have to stick to eating over or under your TDEE EVERY DAY if you want to gain or lose weight.
For example if lets say my TDEE is 2500 cals. Why can't I do a generic strength program or Phraks Greyskull or w/e HARD 2 times a week, on training days and the day after eat fuckloads, large calorie surplus, and then on other days eat at/under maintenance and still make (lean) gains?
Also, why is it recommended that you immediately need shit like protein shakes after a workout if muscle building is generally such a slow and gradual process.

It's also possible gaining muscle on a deficit. The research on this cutting vs. bulking thing seems nonexistent, but there are studies with gains on very minimal diets.

Shakes are a meme, you have to be elite pro athlete level to be needed, and even then you really don't need them, you can easily get all your shit from eating food, real food, just spread up your meals through out the day and you get more than enoguh from there

if this is a serious post and you are actually that weak: buy a pair of adjustable spinlock dumbbells and a flat bench and build up some base strength at home. you could just do Phrak's Greyskull LP (https://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/wiki/phraks-gslp) but replace:

Couch to 5k is a good start. Use cycling or rowing or stairmaster if you start getting shin splints. I'd add 5xgassed pushups and situps to get used to the movement pattern. Also increase your focus on pullups and treat them like a compound lift.
Do not do dumb stuff like jog on a treadmill with weights. To prep for carrying heavy weight, carrying heavy, slow and short is key. Example: You might add farmers walks for 50 yard intervals or holding two racked kettlebells and walk for intervals. Do prehap like high volume leg extensions and high volume light lunges. Do this because you want to ensure that the texas method doesn't get your lateral quads so strong that your medial quads lag and you develop patellar tracking problems. Realizing your patellar tendon isn't tracking while wearing 70lbs of gear marching down hill is a bad time to learn of a muscle imbalance.

I'm 29, did 8 years as a Marine Scout Sniper and am trying to go down the NSW path. I've been training for 3 months now 5 days a week with active recovery weekends of rock climbing/surfing/hiking, currently sitting at:
5'7" 158lbs
Bench 215
Squat 250
Deadlift 315
I ran a PST on my own yesterday which is a 500yd sidestroke swim, push ups, sit ups, pull ups 1.5mile run my scores were
8:35 swim (12:30 is passing)
65 push ups (50 is passing)
90 sit ups (50 is passing)
17 pull ups (10 is passing)
10:35 run (<10:30 is passing)
I'm aware of the age restrictions, statistical probability of completion of bud/s and the lifestyle and mindset necessary to live the lifestyle. What I'm short of is a decent plan besides 'do more x' to get my push ups, pull ups pushed up to 110+ and 25+, as well as my run time cut down to sub 10:00. I have another month before I go back to school on my GI bill and have nothing but free time to increase my push/pull/run. I've access to a track, the beach to run on, a ton of trails, my squat rack+pull up bar w/400lbs of bumper plates, gymnasty rings and a belt for weighted pull ups and dips. I'm trying to shave down to 153-155lbs so I can move faster.
Currently I bench mon, squat wed, shoulder press thurs and deadlift fridays,
Short Interval sprints mondays, LSD beach run wednesday, long interval sprint friday, hike saturday and surf 2-3 days a week.
If anyone can offer any advice beyond 'dont be a seal faggot' it'd be appreciated, I'm not getting any younger and would like to screen with a recruiter/motivator by the first of Sept. with 110+pushups, 25+ pull ups and a run time sub 10:00

I just chug them down dry with a glass of water on the side.
Started doing it to save time/to be lazy but soon discovered eating them uncooked makes them digest slower which gives me a nice steady boost of energy for up to 6 hours while consuming the same amount as oatmeal would first make me feel bloated/stuffed and eventually crash my blood sugar much faster.
