Hi /fit/, this is the first time I've visited this board. Don't worry I've read the sticky, I just need some advice on a diet and workout plan. So I start college in two weeks, I want to tone up my body and build my endurance so I can run at least a mile without stopping. I understand the basics and I'm sure I could do some research myself, but I figured I'd come to people who can give me specifics, details continued below, thanks for the help!

Now reread the sticky.
Op here, sorry if I'm doing this wrong. I weigh 130 pounds, barely exercise and have a pretty high metabolism, so I know I need to change my diet(I don't eat much I need to count my calorie intake). Again, I'm starting college and my classes start at eight but the campus gym and track are open 24/7. I need to make a diet work with my minimal budget and a workout plan

>tone
are you a girl or a twink
So my family has a history of being eh with weight. Not unhealthy or anything that remotely intervenes with heir health but they look fat. Cuz of my amazing genetics no matter how much weight I loose I still feel or look a bit bigger than the other girls. (Not fukin obese lmao)
Any tips on what I should do?
> I lose weight
> But I look like I haven't
First step is to stop being delusional.
>>42350507
Not her but I come from a family were people are literally "big boned," aka heavy built, wide shoulders, thick wrists and ankles. We are all tall and built like that. I can drop my bf% but I'll never look like a bambie ballerina type of skinny bitch, I just look odd with my wide shoulders.
The best thing I can do to my body is to make the best of it and rock the thiccc fit look. As long as I keep my bf% low enough to have a flat stomach, I'm golden. Not even trying to get a Tyler Swift bod anymore cause it's simply not in my DNA.
>tfw four 6'3 brothers who are wide af with epic jawlines and you are the same
dyke lyf best lyf
>>42350055
>bit bigger than the other girls

How does /fit/ deal with noise?
I'm from a quiet town and I moved to a city in Germany for university two years ago. I haven't been home in about a year and it's become apparent to me that the german fucks were quite efficient at picking the worst spot for a dorm possible. My bedroom wall is literally next to a boxing gym, there's a truck parking so fucking 10-ton trucks pass by constantly and the whole room shakes, I've got a school, a gym, some tribal meet-up, a christian choir, a bakery and a fuckload of turks making noise constantly. And some guy on a motorcycle going around thinking being loud will compensate for his small dick.
Do I just get headphones? I had never realized it until now but this is destroying me mentally. How the fuck do people live like this?
Noise cancelling headphones / white noise machines are your best bet, these are kind of hard ones to fix so your best bet might just be trying to move. Sorry brah
A loud fan might help to flatten the other noises
>>42349934
that's the conclusion i reached, i was looking for a solution that doesn't really exist i guess, moving is out of the question though
>>42350206
that sounds smart, my roommate has one aimed at the window, had no idea why but this might explain it
i totally understand remote little mountain towns now by the way, modern society was a mistake
If I cant safely go below parallel on the squat because of my back going into flexion is it okay to stop at parallel?
>>42349890
no
go ass to grass. show your backbone who's the boss
>>42349890
Parallel or slighty below is fine.
ATG is for ego
What if it was above parallel

I'm doing PGSLP 3 times a week, what fitness related things can I do on rest days that won't ruin my progress?

Holy fuck do people actually go to the gym to do 9 sets of 5 reps ? lmao
i have what appears to be a bulging disk in my neck. are my gainz essentially gone?
i plan on going to an urgent care to get a drs opinion either later today or tomorrow, but how bad is it? and is it really just my posture? because it started like 3 weeks after i started a new office job..
>>42349694
what disc? i had disc replacement on my C7 in march and I'm just now getting back into lifting.
bulging isn't terrible as long as it's not pushing on nerves and affecting your back/arms
>>42349759
i should note mine was herniated not bulging, didn't get better on it's own.
physical therapy/massage may help. did you get an MRI? also stay the FUCK away from chiropractors, they are scams of the highest level.
>>42349759
Not OP but I have multiple herniated disks in my lumbar and I'm trying to get my insurance to cover stemcell treatment for it. How do your replacement disks compair to the real thing and which ones did you get?
Holy shit stretching feels so fucking GOOD brehs. This shit is better than sex. Any good stretching routines / guides? And is there an upper limit on how much I can be doing this daily, or can I just be stretching at all hours?

WHY IS MY FACE SO FUCKING GREASY ALL THE TIME
>>42349609
Drink water.
Shower before sleep and wash your face every morning?
>>42349717
>>42349774
I do this though
background: i train a couple times a week in a bouldering gym (for about 5 years already), after each session i usually do about 3*10 pull ups (sometimes 6*5 where each set i place one hand higher than the other), 3*10 push ups and streches; i am 29; i rarely find myself feeling strained.
last session i tried a new exercise i describe as "square pull ups" (pic related), where i basically move my center of mass in a rectangular shape, working a lot of my upper back muscles and alternatively using more/less force in each hand.
1. is there a proper name for this exercise? if not we shall keep calling them square pull-ups here!
2. my back muscles feel very "strained" (i'm guessing this is the term, as i never extremely felt strained anywhere after training), i don't think i should worry (that's why i am asking you and not a doctor), what do you guys think it most probably is, what should i do and will it pass by the weekend (as i got plans to go diving then)?
further info/description to help characterizing if this is called a strained back:
- getting up from laying down can be quite painful.
- the final "strech" in a yawn or deep breath invokes the pain.
Rest for a few days, you will probably be alright.
>>42350018
That's what I believe too, I'm just anxious because I got plans this weekend to go Scuba diving and would hate to suffer cos of my back (;
Is powerlifting the most boring sport to watch?
Seriously, who the fuck is interested in it that doesn't lift.
>>42349453
literally every sport that isn't worth a lot of money.
but yea poerlifting is gay
>>42349453
powerlifting is a meme in general
I decided I'm going to throw in some exercises for my neck on my leg day as part of my P/P/L routine.
What exercises should I do?
how many different excesses should I do?
I do weighted face down and face up neck raises on my rest days, and I've seen neck bridges recommended.
>>42349389
neck bridges
>>42349389
are people serious with this?
the shooped neck on the right looks completely retarded and obviously doesnt work
I think my friend has a problem.
We sat down to drink a beer each together. He drinks half of his beer and pours the rest down the sink. I ask "wtf?" and he proceeds to explain the other half of the beer would give him too many calories for his day.
Is this autism beyond repair?
>>42349368
Yes. If he was so worried about calories, he shouldn't have had a beer in the first place. I drank 8 beer tonight, but I fucked my wife for an hour and a half and I did all the work. I know I didn't burn enough calories to get away with 8 beer, but I also know I couldn't have pounded her like a pornstar for 90 minutes without them so it all worked out in the end.
>>42349368
DELET
Sounds like he cares about his performance more than you
