This morning I ran about 3 miles since I have just started to take running up again after around 2 years I wanted to take it slow and build up. During the 2 years I didn't run my diet and lifestyle slipped and I became a smoker (quit now), and ate a lot of junk food. It didn't affect me to badly since I am only 18 but during my run I felt like my lungs were on fire, is this normal?

Let's say that for the last two years I've only trained the upper part of my body and disregarded my legs. Let's say now that I got massive noob gains in my chest and arms. What will happen if I start training my legs? Will I experience the same noob gains or are noob gains more related to something chemical on the brain rather than the training of a specific muscle?
