Anyone else feel weird when you go to the gym not at your usual hours and see completely different people and no familiar faces?
I don't even talk to anyone at the gym but seeing complete strangers instead of familiar faces made me feel weird. I felt like everyone was judging me and how much I lift, even though I know that's not the case.

Hey /fit/ just joined the gym this week and went for the first time 2 nights ago. I did 5x5 bench press at 95 pounds and it was quite manageable. However, I could only squat 65 pounds 5x5 and my legs were pretty sore after. It's been 36 hours since then and I still can barely go down the single flight of stairs in my home. Most of the pain is in my thighs and hamstrings and it hurts to flex them.
Is this normal? Did I overdo it for my first time squatting with weights? Should I have just done the bar or fewer sets? Not enough protein or fluids postworkout? Does squatting get easier? Any recovery advice?

potatoes are my favorite bulk food. i eat them with bacon and swordfish. i fry them and mash them. potatoes are very versatile, and inexpensive. i love the taste of yukon gold, but usually mix in some redskin potatoes for texture when i mash them. i really love potatoes for bulking because of how they fill me up. i think potatoes are probably the best bulking food, and i even eat them when i am cutting on cheat days but usually just one potato baked with avocado and chopped shallots as garnish.

I've been sticking to my 5-6 day split and waiting for my gym to come in so I can maximize the efficiency each day. Thing is, there's no good gyms nearby. My bro has been looking and all them are either overpriced or super small.
Would I still be able to continue lifting with free weights in my apartments gym? They have a V-bar, tricep pulls, and a bicep machine all in one, but how important is it that I find a gym?
Plus I'm thinking about switching my split to a more demanding 5day twice a week split.
Buy a home gym. If you don't have room for a home gym, build a shed for your gym.
