Sometimes factories that produce a product for a pricey brand will sell the exact thing to a cheapo brand w/o the branding and the brand will charge less b/c it's not as prestigious. there' a # that will tip u off on where the product was manufactured so if two v similar products are sold by diff. brands at dissimilar prices check that #.

They look similar enough, but just from the picture they're obviously cheap knockoffs. The glue splatter on the upper, the false stitched soles, the cheap fat laces, the shiny pleather, the wider silhouette, the embossed numbers which can't be rubbed off
The most obvious benefit of Common Projects is the quality, and the fact that a shoe as simple and at the same time high quality doesn't really exist elsewhere. Why have so many brands/designers tried and failed to rip CPs? Is it really that difficult?

I personally really like some CPs. I would never buy anything like those in the picture, but high/low grey and white achilles, vintage highs in black and white, bball highs/lows in red, navy and white are all great, along with the suede derbies they released at some point. I have no respect for a brand which would blatantly rip the design of another shoe--inspiration is fine, but this is something else. Common Projects themselves were inspired by Rod Lavers/Stan Smiths, and the designers have stated as much, this shit is disgusting and reminds me of the way Allsaints, Zara, Fabrixquare, Demobaza, ADYN shamelessly rip shit from designers and peddle it as though they haven't just stolen designs right out of a more respected brand/designer's lookbook or show.

What I'm surprised at is how people seem to be okay with this derivative trash.
