What do you think when you see someone wearing common projects out in public?
Never seen them IRL.
I'd think "wow, he must like simple white sneakers, so he bought simple white sneakers, I sure hope he's happy with them".
And then later on I'll think "I wonder if he's going to make a thread about white sneakers on an Japanese anonymous anime imageboard".
No, seriously though. I dont give a shit what people wear as long as they feel comfortable. Who am I to judge? In the eyes of 90% of the people I know I am overdressed constantly.
I simply dislike this specific design of shoes because I associate it with skateboarders.
Saw em once, had to follow the person to make sure. It just looks like any other shoe. You buy them to appreciate the quality.
Not really gonna judge tho since anyone who talks shit about CP pricing is obviously a newfag.
>buy white pair of no name stickers
>priny out the number/letter combination cardboard
>cut out the numbers/letters
>use some gold spray
Woooah, you can now brag with your shoes even though they only cost you 50 bucks.
I will never get why people buy clothes to brag though. Fuck, as soon as the brands name/label is visible on the piece of cloth I immediately stop considering to buy it. Sometimes I even remove the labels from the inside.
I went to Totokaelos and the guy working there had a pair of the white originals. We got to talking about them. He was a pretty cool guy. He definitely dressed better than I did at the time, even if it was just shorts and a shirt of some kind.
When I see someone wearing CP's in real life I just think "neat." That's pretty much it. They've become a pretty popular shoe, at least in men's fashion.
I saw like 2 guys in my college wearing them. One of them had a decent it while the other one looked like shit.
It was pretty surprising to see them on my campus since I go to a poorfag city college
There's a guy at my uni who wears them. I've only seen him twice.
He doesn't take good care of them at all, and both times they didn't work with his outfit in the least.
I also saw someone wearing black ones in line for a concert I was going to. They looked alright but not $400 alright.
I've seen them irl 3 times
I think, that nigga chose them to go with his outfit, since most people get them online I figure they know what they are buying vs, "I like these shoes, I guess I'll buy em."
What do you think when you see someone wearing Rick Owens out in public?
And Nikes Airs are based off of basketball shoes, yet every kid wears them even though not even playing basketball. Woop di fucking doo. Same applies for fucking Converse shoes.
What a shoes was supposed to be used for and what people actually use them for are two completely different things, ESPECIALLY when it comes so sneakers.
>all these fuccbois that suddenly hate CPs
Man you fuckers are salty as hell. Is this going to be the year that it's cool to hate CPs and love Superstars?
I wand Adidas shills to leave /fa/.
But the moment you say CPs are 'literal skate shoes' it's just a swing and miss man.
>And Nikes Airs are based off of basketball shoes, yet every kid wears them even though not even playing basketball
True, but you can actually play basketball with those shoes.
Ollie once in your CP's and they're fucked. Skate shoes is a fairly broad term used for shoes you can actually skate in without fucking them up immediatly.
>They sure as hell have the same cut, whether you like it or not.
What are you even saying? There are different cuts for skate shoes and nowadays many skate shoes are actually based off tennis shoes.
Seen CPs in action a couple of months ago. Had mixed reactions. First I checked twice for the Margiela numbering, after confirming their authenticity I tried to make eye contact with the dude, like to communicate that we're in the same boat. He wore shades and probably didn't even see me oogling.
Then I thought to myself how much of a faggot he is to spend so much cash on canvas sneakers, looking like a carbon copy of a Zara hip-hop head
damn those are some sickazz shoes
i'm the one wearing them though
Probably just toss a nice shoes comment his or her way and go on with my day. If it sparks a conversation, if it doesn't that's fine too. I'm not really a huge fan of CPs outside of white vintage BBall highs with the perforated toe.
I dont know why but im not really into 'high end' sneakers anymore. I prefer to just get regular brands these days like nike, adidas, converse etc.
gave my higher end sneakers to me dad. So if you see an old guy in dad jeans wearing CPs and stuff its probably my dad XD
>oh hey he's wearing common projects
that's about it
sometimes I kinda wonder if he's into some of the same local fashion stores as I am
also level-headed responses
(by the way, I don't even like common projects. I just think it's childish to judge people cause of one brand you don't like)
I saw one guy wearing Rick sneakers in an H&M, I'm assuming they were probably fakes. They dont stick out as much as you would think, I probably wouldnt have noticed anything out of the ordinary if they werent a meme. His fit was meh.
the only time i've seen geoborksets irl, the guy was decked head toe in rick, actually looked pretty good.
To top it off he was Korean, and literally looking down at his phone paying absolutely no attention to the world around him, as two unbelievably gorgeous K-pop star looking girls, one on each arm, walked him through the city.
He was fuck ugly as well, but holy fuck he must be rich as hell
I've seen geobaskets three times now.
every time I think
"Oh shit! He's wearing memebaskets! Should I compliment his fit to show him I know?
hold on a second though are those dreamboxes? I can't tell
I just won't say anything"
Saw a guy in CPs, fishtail parka, black skinnies. I wondered what fashion communities he belonged to. It only stood out to me because I live in the tropics and his fit wouldn't work out outside the air conditioned mall.
Only high end sneakers I have seen in real life are common projects, visvim FBTs, and Kenzo on some FOB girl. The Common Projects were on two 30 somethings that looked straight outta GQ.
The FBTs were on some asian guy walking around with two generic looking white folk. He had on a Supreme 5-panel, sportcoat, jawns, and the FBTs. It actually worked pretty well.
The only real high end menswear store around me though sells both CP and Visvim, so that is probably why they are the only ones I've seen.
I saw an asian fuccboi wearing those on the street. They looked like fucking clown shoes on him. Also he wore them with zaraninja shit (including a wang x h&m shirt) and i could feel so hard that he just spent all the money he had on this only piece juste to pretend he had "designer stuff" and wore "rick owens".
I'v actually seen Rick much much more than I'v seen CP's. Never seen CP's actually, and I make a point to spot them.
It's just all the asian fuccboi's who have inherited their Yakuza-buks from their parents tho. Only one guy I'v seen pulled them off.
In Manchester btw.
I've seen a few Asians with these sneakers. I've never seen them outside of the rep market. Are they real? In any case, they're fuccboi as hell
what is the first you think of when you see hender schemes on someone?
>wow did someone spend $700 on a homage to adidas?
>*tried to take pic to post on sufu creeper
>CPs are bland
No, they are clean, basic, and unoffensive sneakers. The point IS that they are plain, and the only people who don't quite get it are those sneakerheads that plague discussion on shoes. They aren't meant for those sik moonboot fits with your expensive basketball sneakers. CPs are great when you don't want to draw attention to your shoes, which is something that is usually a huge point in men's fashion. Perfect if the rest of your fit is on point, and even if it is pretty mediocre, you can still rest assured knowing that your CPs aren't going to make your fit look like piss like something that a pair of Adidas might do.
If you think CPs are about being "high fashion sneakers" you have no fucking clue about style and should seriously fuck off back to whatever shithole you crawled out of.
I saw a guy wearing CPs at my school once. He actually looked pretty /fa/...seemed like he was a member of the Nordic master race.
Seen Rick twice so far. First time was this black dude wearing the Adidas trainers. My friend (who doesn't know about fashion) asked the guy what the shoes were, and he was a complete asshole. Was probably either autistic or thought he was being /fa/
The second was this skinny Asian qt wearing Geobaskets.
oh no a black guy got upset when two white dudes just started asking him questions out of nowhere, what a savage
i use my black achilles as work and gym shoes
i wonder if anyones noticed, doubt it tho plus the gold number are almost completely faded on mine and theres holes starting to form on the bottom of the sole from heel drag nd heavy wear :/
also saw a guy outside of supreme wearing white achilles and had an acne bag, was ur typical richboi soho azn, thot it looked nice but thats rly it
when i buy black achilles lows, they are gonna be my work shoes unless there is a business meeting or client presentation where i cant get away with it.
i wear jeans and button ups 90% of the time. CPs comfy for commuting and look fantastic with jeans.
Most of the time you don't even notice them because they are plain as fuck
When I do, I just usually figure they are fashion victims or have no taste unless their fit is really good and the shoes compliment them.
Autism drtected. Im not fan of cps either, i prefer jack purcells or shoes like pottery.
>shoes like pottery
nice dubs, btw
why they cost so much? what's the appeal?
are you from dc? when i had my white ones this dude who worked at the doc marten store in a diiv shirt literally said "are those cp's" as i was leaving and i said "yeah" and kept walking out cause i didn't know what to say
