I've always wanted to live in an ulra-minimalist space

bamboo floor, all polished cement walls

so i learnt how to use AUTO-CAD, and I'm at the stage now where I think i could design pre-fab (made in pieces and assembled on site) houses like this at a ludicrously cheap price point

inspo guys?

i really with it were that simple but the amount you could do on autocad is minimal

unless you want to make a semi temporary structure

I work on a construction site every day with cement, cad is for fabrcating small parts but i use it to get measurements in shape on a macro scale, though there are better programs for it

the idea hinges on having the building intergrated with the furniture, so the cement already has holes drilled for fittings, and with an assembly that is slot and go.

the floor slab is poured with inserts for the walls, the walls slot into them and have holes and slots for internal features and the roof
the floor sits flush on the slab with some insulation, and the roof can be modular because the walls are predetermined dimensions

junior architects often fascinate over compact houses, but I would like large and spacious, favouring a raw unfinished look and very clean surfaces

This isn't minimalism. It's glorified poverty.

Idk. I think that one house in like, fucking Peru or somewhere in South America, is the only prefab that I have saved. I'm thinking of another prefab, but I believe it's all wood, and I want to say it was just something I saw on TV or in a magazine, so I don't have pics saved.

I feel like with cement there's potential for building the furniture into the house itself. It'd be kinda of a fusion between the Arts & Crafts movement, Brutalism, and Japanese inspired minimalism. You could have built in shelves and benches, which you could put cushions on later.

Anyway, look up George Suyama to see good examples of modern materials like cement fused with natural materials and surroundings. He's my favorite architect.

I wish Metabolism had gone farther than just concept and the few isolated building projects. The ideas are fascinating.
