Usually I wear a poncho folded over my torso and a trenchcoat.

Fashion/comfy side: cashmere and merino sweaters, leather gloves, big fluffy scarves.

If it's super cold, I'll wear a cape under the poncho. The overcoat makes it look like one big piece. It's one of my only favorite clothing combos I've done for myself lol.

Buy actual winter boots. Wear warm socks. Layer, even on your legs. Invest in a cheapish, lightweight down coat (Barney's had a bunch on a clearance and you can get some decent ones from Uniqlo) to layer under your wool coat. A scarf is essential.

If you wear leather gloves, make sure they're lined in something nice or they won't be super-functional. Acrylic keeps heat in, silk is okay, cashmere sheds weirdly but is nice.

No matter how much I spend on them, I always lose my gloves, so I just buy cheap replaceable wool ones from American Apparel.

I got shot back in November. It was like 12am and I'm buying soda to go with my hot wings and some guy just starts shooting up the store. Didn't even rob it.
