They're not trying to be perceived as cute or useful, they're just trying to align with the current trend and getting their "brow game on point". (Origins of a trend aren't necessarily considered by the people following them).

Just like pencil thin 90s brows didn't suit everyone, neither do these.
However I'd take the natural fuller (not overdrawn) eyebrows over heavily plucked ones any day.

90s was never about pencil thin brows, it's just that women who didn't know any better went crazy trying to get the sculpted pointy brow look that catherine zeta jones perfected. of course 99% of them fucked it up utterly, and it was so ubiquitous that people mistook that for a trend.

It was a trend though, don't know what you're talking about. I was talking to my mum about eyebrows in the 90s and she said she remembers when everyone just liked the look of tiny brows and she used to feel very pleased when she'd finished plucking hers but now looking back feels silly.
But she wasn't going for sculpted and pointy, her and all of her friends all in their 20s then were after just after as thin as possible.

No person who was considered beautiful and tasteful in the 90s had pencil thin brows. Take a look at media from the 90s, the only time you see that is trashy porn models. Actual paragons of beauty and taste had brows like zeta.

As I said, plebs fucked up their eyebrows doing it at home (most of them didn't have the eyebrows for it in the first place), and people like your mom mistook it for what cool people do, because they saw someone at the mall with messed up eyebrows. In that sense it was a "trend", but only among gutter trash.

I think people should just stick with their natural brow shape. Get rid of the unibrow, but messing with the shape just looks weird and unnatural most of the time.

I'm automatically not attracted to girls with drawn on eyebrows and automatically attracted to girls with naturally thick eyebrows that are barely touched.
