>>9357246
>/fa/ is autistic
no argument here
>/fa/ is full of pseudo intellectuals
did you really just say "pseudo intellectuals"? are you thirteen?
>/fa/ is dominated by liberal arts majors
maybe. doesn't seem like that to me, though. and why is that a bad thing?
>/fa/ is full of middle class suburban kids who have had little exposure to the outside world
most people have limited experience with the world outside of their social class. middle class kids tend not to know about life on the streets. lower class kids tend not to know about life in the middle class.
and I'm not convinced /fa/ is as sheltered as you think they are
>/fa/ has fascination with looking cultured and classy
this is not limited to /fa/. but it would make sense that people who like fashion also care about how they're seen by other people
>/fa/ will most likely sacrifice function over looks
no shit
>/fa/ is technologically illiterate
seriously disagree with this one
>/fa/ is the epitome of post-irony
what on earth gave you that idea?
>/fa/ carries to much unnecessary shit (clothing, items, electronic etc)
you're basing this on a sampling of posts from a thread about bragging about your edc. hardly representative of the whole board.
and what makes you think you're fit to judge how much is "too much"?
>/fa/'s livelihood is largely dependent on the "circle-jerking" phenomenon (ego-boosting, reinforcement, attention)
you mean the phenomenon where social human beings say nice things to each other?

>>9349949

>>9359026
I'm not into smart watches (or even watches), but I really admire Apple's whole ideas of locking the user into an ecosystem. If you buy the watch, you need the iPhone to connect with it, then you need a Macbook to sync your texts, then you need an iPad to use with your iCloud on the go, then you can pretty much only get apps from Apple's own app store so they're making money off you even after you've made the purchase. Fucking smart really when you think about it.

Because it makes no sense from a financial perspective.
>>9361544
I know Rotring makes arguably the best mechanical pencils, but they're everything I hate in a pencil. They feel too heavy, and when you write, they're so sturdy that you can pretty much feel the pencil lead scraping on the paper. It's like fingernails running down a chalkboard silently.
Pic related are my favorite pencils in the whole world. So light. So soft. I haven't tried those Blackwing things yet but I doubt they're *that* much better.

>>9361962
It just feels a lot better to write things down on paper! I know some people also like taking notes in class in regular notebooks instead of using a laptop/tablet too. And also, I don't use a smart phone, so I can't take notes with my phone.
>>9361926
Oh thanks :)
Btw WHY is there nowhere in Canada that sells these beeaauuutiful cards? I could ship them from the US on Amazon or eBay, but then they'd come up to like $20, which is a crazy price for a stack of paper. Man I wish I had these...
>>9361975
that is nice, and I'm pretty tired of the generic-school-look it has
I was thinking of just getting a moleskin or getting a pack of field notes since I do graphs a lot
>>9361962
I'm all for integrating tech, but it's much easier to use a small notebook than my phone
it's a physical aspect
I usually groan when people say they use real books because "it feels right" and all that, but writing in my notebook serves me since it's an actual dedicated carry I feel more obligated to look notes/tasks that I write down
plus I can rip out pages
and I don't have to worry about battery
it's ironically more convenient

nobody drafts on Size E paper by hand anymore
my undergrad drafting courses were almost 10 years ago now, and even then i found it faster to just o-space-c the dimensions in Autocad
then plot
some people would go in and fix their datum input errors with pencil
but i found it easier just to re-plot after having everyone in the engineering building look at you crumple a size E plot into a little ball and trash can it.
