I'm looking to buy one for work, black leather and nice looking/long lasting.
The Apex wallets on kickstarter look nice but I'm pretty simple.
just copt, I really like the idea of it being laser cut and assembled from a single piece of hide. Interested in seeing what horse leather is like
Are Checkbook wallets good? or tryhard?
Ever since I saw a dude use one and had fucking crisp new bank notes I always felt pleb with my Louis Vuitton bi fold :(
any1 know a good jet black checkbook wallet that fits notes nicely for my autism?
I have an everlane wallet and I like it a lot so far.
room for the 5 cards I carry plus cash
That's Sruli Recht.
Order one from Aliexpress for $2 w. free shipping. That's where all the Amazon/eBay/Chinatown/mall booth shops get the cases they sell for $20 from.
Pic related is what I'm going to get soon. It's very minimal but it has an aura of luxury around it because of the gold logo. I'm changing my style to Asian new money, not even kidding. The only challenge is buying all the stuff when you're not actually an Asian new money teen
Forgot the pic
Imagine someone pulling this out to pay for something
Stealth wealth at its finest
I'm in dire need of a new wallet. I use the wallet I have now for budgetting. 50 in the front pocket for necessities and 50 in the back for fun (each week).
Any good /fa/ recommended wallets that have two dosh pockets?
it's not muh "stealthu wealthu" if it fucking says saint laurent paris in gold lettering across the middle, and this is coming from someone who doesn't even shit on slp like 90% of /fa/
About to place an order for this. I like it because many card holders (including my current one) don't have a holder for bills.
It's way more clean and discreet than
<-- gaudy stuff like this.
Card holders don't get any simpler unless you scraped off the tiny SLP lettering.
if you don't want to be gaudy or want to "hide your wealth" just buy a normal wallet, not a cardholder, not a money clip, a normal non-branded black wallet. But I mean I don't think anyone cares and it's off topic from the thread.
It comes in really handy to have cash while traveling, and even for small purchases.
I carry an Alexander Wang pony hair prisma wallet right now, but the pony hair is wearing down so maybe I'm in the market for something else. I've only had it a year and the zipper for the coin pouch has problems and the leather is worn in an ugly way. I don't think I'll change the style for a while because I travel fairly often and it can actually hold my passport but maybe I'll get a different textile
Been looking into minimalist wallets recently, had a few pop up, but i'm not sure about most of them.
http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/minimalist-wallets/ Been checking these out most recently. Kind of torn between the Dash 2.0 and the Shamrock one, or maybe Octovo's Slice. I've only got like 5-6 cards, so, yeah. I thought I might go for an ID slot one, but eh.
Holds a lot of stuff and makes me feel better about myself. Pretty flex.
People in Toronto do stupid stuff like that all the time. They like to brag about how much they pay for rent by wearing $50 toques to show which neighbourhood they live in.
lmao sounds like they're trying to be new york-lite. Since fashion is dead here the only "stupid" thing people do is flow but I like long hair and realistically the only guys who complain about it were unpopular in high school.
you know those international students that seem like they have really rich parents who buy them all the clothes they want? Maybe they're only in Toronto but idk
well actually I figured out you can achieve the same thing way less on a budget
it all made sense after I saw a bunch of asian guys with zanottis and shit shopping at Topman in the bay
You can get a shitty print that looks like it came from Givenchy or Kenzo or some shit for 1/30 the price
and what do you do with the savings? you buy a few pieces that stand out and draw attention like gold crocodile slippers
People are going to look at those and assume you're rich, they'll just glance past your Topman tshirt and assume it cost $800
This is actually a thing, I drove past the Stussy store on queen st w during Black Friday and saw a whole line of asian kids with shoes/jackets easily worth thousands from some designers, girls had LV purses and shit
and actual rich kids don't line up for 20% off lame streetwear which is the only thing that gave them away
instead of spending $100 on each item of your wardrobe to look like some dweeb from WAYWTS, why not just bundle it into $900 for some dog sweater that draws attention and buy your basics at Uniqlo or wherever, because nobody is going to notice them
I'm not saying all the rich looking kids do this, but there definitely are some
If you took a pic of one of them and posted here, everyone would automatically assume they're new money kids, even if they werent actually
It's that convincing
And the benefit of dressing like you have rich parents is:
People will treat you like you're important
Instead of like you're some filthy homeless guy who wants to steal their things
Trust me lots of people do that, in fact I do that. In an outfit I usually have 1, maybe 2 items that are expensive and the rest mediocre/cheap. Might wear an SLP topcoat (expensive) with idk allen edmonds boots (cheap-mediocre) and h&m jeans and a timberland oxford (both cheap). Now before you chirp me, the h&ms LOOK no different than my plain balmains, they sure FEEL a lot worse but unless I'm at a party no ones going to be fondling my jeans. I almost bought 3 pairs of SLP jeans a few months back and at the last minute I thought "wtf am I doing, I almost blew over 1k on black jeans, slow the fuck down". You just gotta be smart with your purchases, imo my money is invested top and bottom to center and outside to inside. I'll spend a lot on shoes and a jacket, less on pants and sweaters, less on shirting, and even less on underwear and belts. Of course there are variables and that is subject to change but it's what I followed for a long time before gradually making upgrades
Yeah sorry for the long rant, you managed to summarize it into a tenth of the length lol
I guess the aesthetic I'm describing is sort of minimalist/monochrome, but really expensive looking, so the gold SLP card holder ticks all the boxes
I know it sounds retarded just from reading about it, but if you saw it IRL you'd probably think it's cool.. Idk
Basically you need to have luxury in the details
And the basic stuff doesn't matter
You can't pull out a $20 "genuine leather" wallet from Winners if you want to keep up the look, but you could still get away wearing $10 H&M denim like you said
Thinking of getting Zanotti slipons for the summer
nah I feel you, I dress very minimalist but like I'm not a tool about it. Idk I'm a hypocrite sometimes I mean fuck I just bought a black box logo hoodie and rick tech runners ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'd be 100% doing what you have in mind except I live in a place where it's too hot for most of the year to even consider wearing outerwear or even a sweater so really the shirt often becomes the centerpiece of an outfit. but I def feel your general idea and it's dope
Yeah they are pretty gaudy but i guess the whole idea of what I'm aiming for is minimalist with like 1 gaudy thing that stands out?
The ones on the right are nice tho
People would be like "wow, those are $500 SLIPPERS" but the jokes on them
Lol and I can't wait for summer here
Guess the grass is always greener on the other side :)
Casio watch: $15
Air max 90s: $100
No name sunglasses: $10
Dog shirt: $621.00 - $930.00
Way better outfit then spending $200 for an Acne tee, $100 Norse shorts, $500 common projects, $150 ray bans etc. like most people on this forum, because you'd end up looking completely average and still be paying way more if you fell for the "expensive high quality basics" ruse
I could duplicate that shirt by sending the graphic to a website that custom prints shirts for 25 bucks and I could get it in polyester blend so don't even try to tell me the quality wouldn't be as good
you are actually right
let these poor fag shitter spendthrifts waste their money as it comes in by the 50-100$'s and they spend it immediately on whatever they can afford instead of sitting on it and actually buying a nice piece.
Impossible to buy since it's a corporate gift, had it for 10+ years, goat spinneybeck leather.
What do you guys think of the wallet I made? Material is suede, I've been using it for several months and It's held up surprisingly well. This model is just held together with glue but the next one will be stitched (dark small stitches, no contrast stitching).
Some people have asked where to get one so I've been thinking about selling them.
cept rexy (and probably u) r gonna look like shit in yr tacky givenchy rags
the people who will think it looks good won't know the difference between it and a $5 sales rack HM / Zara clone
the people who will know will laugh at you and yr shit style/taste/personality
It probably depends on the materials I use but if it was good leather (the stuff I used in that first model was shitty upholstery leather) I'd probably try for $35 bucks at first and adjust my price from there depending on the response I get. They're extremely easy for me to make and I have a good leather source so I think I could make a decent profit.
One of my prototypes had a frame around the little porthole. Thinking of bringing that back.
I came up with that price by looking at similar items on etsy and asking people what they would pay. I think it's a reasonable price as long as I make sure the materials and construction are great. I'd wouldn't go lower that $25 for sure, any lower and I'd just be wasting my time.
I've been using this one >>9355738 daily for the past 4 months and it's fine. The only issue is that the pieces of leather have started to separate slightly at the fold point, but it's just super glued so that's not surprising. To be fair it's about what people are willing to pay, not how much it's worth, and people are willing to pay stupid amounts for handmade leather goods on etsy. I'd rather sell them for $35 and only have to make one or two every month than sell them for $15 and make less money for the amount of time I'm spending working on them.
You could in theory replicate a loot of designer shit but why not just buy fakes? I'd never buy givenchy at full retail but when I buy these things I like to support the designer.
You don't have to tell me :( our first ten games were nasty and then we're pulling a classic season and just shitting the bed, at least we're not the leafs!
This is so cool, should post more in DIY threads, I'd actually cop this.
Yo we got bluesfest and uh idk decent girls..? Our best mall (rideau) is a sad display when compared with literally any other major city, we out here for real
