Hey, do you cut your own hair? Cuz I found a guy on youtube who does that and I'm wondering if I should try learning that.
I just did my hair a couple of hours ago.. It really depends on your style how hard it is.. Short sides long top, is fairly easy.
I usually go to the barber and after a weeks I trim the sides and back so it feels fresh again.. repeat a few times and then the barber again.. I dont touch the hair on top,, dont want to risk that yet.
Watching those youtube videos helps also.. Start slow.. better to trim 5 times than too much at once
I agree man. No one is born with perfect skills and everyone of us have to learn everything from the zero. Hair grows back but once you make a mistake it becomes a lesson for you and won't fail again at the same step - you will move forward.
I do cut my own hair because I'm the only person who knows EXACTLY what I want.
The only issue is getting the back, and so I occasionally go to a barber and get the back/sides done.
honestly, if you're not cutting your own hair then idk wtf youre doin
>Hey, do you cut your own hair?
Yes, I had a HY. When everyone and their mother had it, I got a buzzcut and 3 months later just shaved off my hair.
I didn't like the completely shaved look, so now I have something similar to picture related. Completely shaved around the top and 1mm stubble at the top. I'm 21 and people do perceive you as more aggressive, but I've also had people tell me they liked the shaved-off hair.
yes i do. first time i did it was meh. practice makes perfect. start with just the sides and the back. you might need some help for the back, so ask a relative. if your dad makes typical dad jokes, don't let him do it. he will goof it up on purpose.
I cut my own hair for 5 years now. Just try it. Those youtube tutorials will be useful for your start but later you will be able to do whatever you want with your hair. You just have to learn the basics and practice.
heres mine. (upvote for le reddit memers)
Go for it. The undercut is the easiest to cut yourself, besides buzz cuts or whatever. I have been keeping up and cleaning my sides for a few months now in between normal haircuts. The only advice is get a friend you trust to do the edging in the back. It isn't hard to clean the edges on your side yourself either but the back is of course the hardest.
sorry didnt see this. dont have a picture of it from the back and it needs cutting but maybe this is some help

I used to have my hair shaved on the sides and back until about a year ago, when it started to get overly popular the I started shaving just the sides at home so I have a lazy Mohawk
Both sides are shaved /fa/ggot. But getting called a shitty electronic "music" producer is refreshing since the 1975 has become more popular I've been called Matt Healy wannabe way to fucking much
Tried giving myself a military fade once...I fucked up and ended up buzzing my head in a state of panic, rage and regret.
Don't do it unless you don't mind going bald or reallly short in the event that you mess up.
By the feeling of the comb/guard going up the back of your head
Make multiple passes until you don't hear anything being cut
You can also try using two mirrors but that's a bit awkward
I remember when I tried to cut my own hair, I fucked up so much that I had to shave my whole head bald(not number 1 or number 2). I haven't seen any of those tutorials, I was just standing in front of the mirror and decided to cut my own hair for no reason, just because I was bored. I was probably drunk or high, I don't even remember everything. A lot of people thought that I got cancer or something. It was 5 years ago and since that day I never had a razor in my hands. I'm scared of them.
I was stupid and I don't know what was I thinking... And I forgot to add guards... And I started shaving from the back not even looking at mirror. After that it was the worst week of my life...
man i would totally do this
i hate having to deal with hair
having to style it and having to buy product and having to worry about it looking like shit if i don't get to shower that morning
too bad i have a terrible profile and just lack the aesthetics for a buzz
do you feel like posting a pic?
if u really want to cut ur own hair u definitely should try. u might make mistakes at first so dont do it when a big event is close. practice makes perfect and its really fun. if u dont like it in the long run, then go back to ur barber and at least u tried
