That disconnected undercut is /fa/ggot tier. Don't do it, and will probably take you a lot longer to do and most likely you will fuck it up.
Get it properly cut and faded.

You can fuck up your hair if you do it for first time. Maybe just stick to your barber. This guy already have some good skills

I would say try it if you want it so much. You have nothing to loose and it seems like it's quite easy. Hair will grow back and you can always buzz shave like I do.

I just did my hair a couple of hours ago.. It really depends on your style how hard it is.. Short sides long top, is fairly easy.
I usually go to the barber and after a weeks I trim the sides and back so it feels fresh again.. repeat a few times and then the barber again.. I dont touch the hair on top,, dont want to risk that yet.

Watching those youtube videos helps also.. Start slow.. better to trim 5 times than too much at once

I do this about every third week. Simple and conservative

24 mm on top
21 mm on sides
12 mm at the bottom
Then do 15 mm between 21 mm and 12 mm to even it out

I do cut my own hair because I'm the only person who knows EXACTLY what I want.

The only issue is getting the back, and so I occasionally go to a barber and get the back/sides done.

I didn't like the completely shaved look, so now I have something similar to picture related. Completely shaved around the top and 1mm stubble at the top. I'm 21 and people do perceive you as more aggressive, but I've also had people tell me they liked the shaved-off hair.

It's relatively easy to do. Just work slowly and dont expect godlike results first time. Been doing it for like 5 years now.

Go for it. The undercut is the easiest to cut yourself, besides buzz cuts or whatever. I have been keeping up and cleaning my sides for a few months now in between normal haircuts. The only advice is get a friend you trust to do the edging in the back. It isn't hard to clean the edges on your side yourself either but the back is of course the hardest.
