>tfw Uniqolo opened up a store very close to where I live
If any of you /fa/ggots want me to review/try on shit while I'm there within the next few days just let me know, will make a follow up thread if so
Can you check out their flannels? How thick they are etc, how qquality it feels and whether they run, small, large or true?
Thanks btw anon, interesting that you'd care enough about us queers to bother
It's more than I can hope for now, man. The best I'm gonna do here is work for a TV station or *maybe* write. I wanna work for the big leagues man. And I'm sure Californians aren't...ALL boring and shallow people, right?
I'm sure there's better area's but the "College towns" around me are still in their lel hipsterdum phase, there's like 30 hole-in-the-wall coffee shops within 3 miles of me
/spoiler/ they're all terrible /spoiler/
but I'm a bitter person who was raised here, so I'm sure I'm under appreciative
That doesn't sound terrible to me. Most of my college town is filled with hipsters anyway. And there's a ton more people there than here. All I have here are ex-girlfriends and bad memories. At least over there I won't have to worry about bumping into every bridge I've ever burnt, y'know?
Fuck. I don't even care about the type of people there. As long as I can get my foot in the door of a TV studio/Production company and a shitty apartment I'll be set man.
I unno, relatively big i suppose compared to the average skinny dude on /fa/
Levi's 508's (tapered fit) are what I wear cause their skinny's don't fit, 32" waist, never tried uniqolo so i'd imagine sizing is different
Everyone and their mother is trying to be in TV right now, but if you're good you can make it, even I'm trying to do the whole producer/sound design thing, and there are shitty apartments galore, now that I'm thinking about it SoCal isn't so terrible kek
I'd hope so, and yeah SoCal here, but I've visited up to Medesto a few times, at least the weeds good here
I think I'm alright with that shit. All my teachers seemed to like what I've done so far. And anyways computer jobs are in high demand so it shouldn't be hard for me to get a job. Bleh. I'm so tired of living in the midwest
If your going to in south cal be careful with the people here. There are lots of good people, but in career paths there exist many people who will step on you to get ahead.
North cal is much more friendly place. If your looking to have a good time and find happiness I would recommended north cal. If your looking to do something ambitious south cal is a safer bet.
However this is not to say you can't find happiness and fulfillment for your ambitions in just one part of California. However it's also worth mentioning you may find nothing here.
Be as friendly as you can and try to maintain as many positive friendships as possible. I'm sure you already know this but connections is what gets you places for the silver screen. That or being a prodigy.
It's a weird major. My actual degree is with computers, and we have to pick a specialty. I chose Telecom. So while I do my main major shit like programming, I also work on my specialty (film shit, basically. I fucking love anything related to the production side. Editing, writing, directing, we even did some studio stuff). I really should have just done film shit but I was like two years into my computer major so there wasn't any turning back at that point.
That's actually really dope, you'll fit in around here with that kind of major, in my group of friends alone we've got basically an indie film company, so it'll be easy for you to just make some shit to get noticed around here, and editors are always in demand
they should build one in my fucking city. we got 2 huge fashion malls. ones boring and usual shit like jcrew, levi, AA, uniqlo would fit right in. plus the place is always full, im sure theyd get tons of people buying shit there since they have lower prices than the other stores.
Fuck yes. That sounds so sick. I've been really stuck trying to figure out a future plan for me and now I'm probably gonna try to move out to cali. Probably gonna try and get noticed before that so I'm not just a fish out of water in that big of a place.
Well I'm not gonna call it cali out loud or anything, sheesh. Aren't I supposed to call it that while doing that weird hand thing? Thumb and Pinkie out and then wiggle the shit out of my hand?
I'm not actually sure why, it's not exactly that they're being a dick, it's just how most of the other Californian's I've encountered act, I guess it's just our way of showing where we're from
It depends on what you mean by cold, it'll hit low 40's sometimes mid 30's but it's a crazy dry cold, so it's nippy, layering in my experience is fine, but people around here wear parka's when it's like 55/60
You could be a two-faced asshole, but that'll scare off any genuine not retarded people that you may had became good friends with one day.
Personally I wouldn't recommended being two-faced. But then again I value relationships with people over my commercial success.
there's definitely nice people, white people and non ghetto blacks are usually really really nice to me, Mexicans seem to have a superiority complex/believe california is mexico 3.0 (following new Mexico ofcourse) so I avoid em.
>t shirts in 55 degree weather
Do you walk around naked when it hits 90+
Another good thing about SoCal is noones gonna give you shit for wearing a tank top/undershirt/sleevless shirt, whatever you wanna call it
Hahaha sounds good. I'm similar in a manner, I go around in Adidas track pants and casual shit most of the time.
I don't bring out my good fits unless I'm currently talking interested in a qt in class or I'm going to a party.
Either way I'll be wearing the manga fish gun shirt because girls think Im "quirky" for wearing stuff like that.
I'm an LA native, and come to think of it I hardly ever refer to the state by name in casual conversation.
It's such a huge state that it makes more sense to talk about regions, or cities for that matter. Or regions of cities.
>tfw you have to resort to ebay to get the basics you want
>tfw never had a chance to have a goth phase
At least in my high school in the mid 2000s, the only real scenes were, well, "scene" kids and emos.
What's the deal with all these fat mexican goths I keep seeing around LA shows these days though lmao
Tumblr, that's the reason, and there wasn't a big goth group at my highschool either, I just hung around the theatre kids and dressed however I felt, which apparently was depressed
i had a 80s/90s goth phase in the mid 2000s. platform shoes big purple overcoat with patches sown on backcombed hair lipstick fucking lace glvoes
all this on a 12yo i dont kno wtf my parents were thinking when they let me out of the house.
ha, I never went that far, just mostly all black, I had a trench coat i loved, shoulder length hair, smiths/cure t-shirts, with waxed black jeans and low top doc martins
Guys, I wanna cop their Corduroy Long Sleeve Shirt, but I cannot decide on the sizing for fuck all. I'm "M" in their sizing chart when it comes to like sweatshirts, but even "XS" would fit me on the shirt, since I've got 43 in shoulders, 60 in sleeves, and my body length back is about 70. Any ideas?
Do you've got any idea what color of Corduroy shirt is he wearing? It looks kinda dark-greyish, but it could be black as well...
>uniqlo opens near me
>instantly get job there
>12 hour shifts every time
>the qlo opens an hour away from me on bus
>wow naturally I must go, I need to get pink oxford shirt that actually fit me
>flannel shirts $20 dollar on sale
>but then I asked my mom to buy one in Japan no reason to cop
>pink oxford shirt XS not in stock
>On the way back end up in shitty bus without A/C with 30 mexicans
>wasted 5 hours for nothing
Fuck you Yankee
your sheltered ass doesn't know what life is like
>bumming off your parents in your twenties
>he thinks everyone is as privileged as he is
damn, that's nice. I hope I get a raise soon.
>being so butthurt that your parents are dirt poor and dont help you out
I'll keep enjoying going boating at my grandma's lakehouse in the 800$ armani jacket she bought me, enjoy how "real" your life is :^)
I read this in a really think asian accent and I'm really glad I did that
There's a lot of shitty people here, but I figure that's in a lot of places. I love living in SoCal, and I really have a wonderful group of friends here, and there's always a lot to do.
I miss living in East Hollywood, it was great. More westside now.
isn't east Hollywood the richer area
>tfw within 2 mins of driving into west Hollywood I spot a group of trannies and what seems to be gay men screaming at eachother for some reason
Lived in north Hollywood for a year though, woke up one day at 6 in the morning to the sound of nigs outside my apartment screamin "HAPPPYYY FOUR TWEENNYYY"
