The problem is that embellishment is something that doesn't scale down well. Even if you go from real horn beads to injection-molded plastic or whatever, applique (especially end-to-end, all over designs like this) are still very labor intensive. I'm not saying that it's not possible to make it at a lower price, but the very detail you admire about the expensive model is what makes it so expensive. This is akin to admiring the marbling on a piece of Wagyu beef and then expecting McDonald's to make a Wagyu burger.

I get what you're saying, but the shapes have long been a part of the modern Balmain style. If you look at the unadorned versions and read up on Rousteing's inspirations, those buttonless styles are much more of a Japanese origin than anything overtly Spanish. Think of it as a military tailored short noragi, maybe. The inspiration was even more overt in the "obi" wrapped styles from a year ago or so.
