I'm really gravitating towards lunarcore.
Before I make any more space-based puns, which shoes do you think work better?
Palladium also has glow-in-the-dark soled boots.
Not sure if I would get them, but I admit, the idea is quite amusing.
Lighter colors lend to the illusion of an astronaut's suit. There's an infographic I once saw that broke down a couple sub-styles with a broader range of colours and shades.
Didn't this guy post on /fa/? Might be mistaken.
I remember someone saying he altered these pants himself.
I am a size 9.
Hesitantly interested, they definitely require more commitment to the style to wear, vs Palladiums.
I'd be worried about pic related.
np bruh, I understand that completely
Know what you mean by requiring commitment to the style, there was a time there where I was wearing them with just julius cargos + asymmertrical tees/longsleeves tho
Anyway if you try out lunarcore and decide you like it and you want them, just post in a b/s/t
I'll give you a dece price, I don't wear them anymore
dope w2c everything
(especially pants in first)
Got a pair of Y-3 Warriors in 10.5, worn once with everything except for box. Anyone intresested? Really like lunarcore but my stormtrooper outfit, while rather successful, dosen't mesh well with how i generally dress.
thinking like 200 wo shipping or smth like that
i found your post witty and charming, OP.
regardless, pic related.
New to /fa/. Maybe slightly bland, but I'm thinking I like this lunarcore style.
Just bought this on eBay. Not quite the same aesthetic, but did I do alright? $35.25 after shipping. Obey bomber. I think it's the Jealous Lover jacket.
For reference, I realize it's a women's jacket. I'm a fairly andro male, but probably going to start HRT by the end of summer (going to talk about starting with my therapist tomorrow, actually)
So Nike has this iD White Pack thing and...
mesh everywhere it can be, perf leather everywhere else except for the reflective back tab, swoosh, and strap.
For piloting that shuttle 48 hours straight. Reflective details for mood and beauty, or if you crash.
really fucking hope this shit catches on when we start colonizing the moon, found out theyre already taking pre registry for candidates that want to live there
Hmm, I'm curious though, (newfag, just starting to really consider this fashion shit)
What could he do to... I guess cover his neck? Would you ever consider scarves as lunarcore? Or just get a coat with a tall collar thing, like this (though this is more techwear, but I think the styles can work together)
taken from NASA web site
Elementary School-core. Remember being the coolest little shit with glow-in-the-dark/light up shoes? Now you can re-live the times before you became a faggot posting on a chinese cartoon imageboard.
I'm selling these in UK Size 9, they fit true to size.
Great condition, never worn.
E-mail is in the field, we can talk if you want.
>mfw they come in size 16
Somebody in size 16 please buy these and then sell them on ebay for cheap in 6 months time
selling my y-3 warrior boots uk 8.5 us 9 eu 42.
love this shoes, but worn them only couple times. goes with dust bags and extra laces.
$220 + shipping from EU.
don't get the field marshals
i have yet to see another pair on somebody and I want to keep it that way
Anybody know where to cop these in green? I found some on ebay, but they're the wrong size ;_;
Some Cosmonaut shoes for when they're on Mir.
Some other Cosmonaut boots
It was a term that poet was bandying about when these threads began. To me the phrase evoked a dystopian vision of the future in which we've reached the end of sustainable life on Earth, due to pollution and overpopulation. Hence the desaturated colors and distressed/utilitarian/futurist-workwear look. But that's just my interpretation.
It's a full body flight suit with the sleeves tied around the waist. Christopher Raeburn is doing some similar shit in SS15, pic related. The whole collection is pretty bang-on for this look actually.
Gareth Pugh Two-Tone Wedge 2009
Yeah Raeburn is big on repurposing military garments, so those jackets are pilot's pressure suits cut and sewn into new patterns. Helmut Lang did something similar a while ago but I'm having trouble digging up the images. You can get these on eBay for ~$150 and cut em up yourself if you wanna be like based knoch.
Yeah, looks like light grey or silverish.
I went to my local GI Depot yesterday and while they didn't have very much worth getting (there was one (nylon?) flight suit that I liked (I don't like the canvas ones), but I'd kind of rather just have pants. I think they were only $35 though) they did have one really nice bomber/flight jacket, and if I remember correctly, it was slightly reflective. $55 though. You could buy a new one for that price.
I think the DE:HR suit looks like it's more just for cooling, than pressure (and of course, fashion)
Shit though, that'd be a ton of work. I've never really tailored anything before. I suppose it could be quite a fun and extensive project
>start getting interested in lunarcore
>sitting in bed with gf today watching TV
>"so you know how I'm into fashion right?"
>"well I found out about this style that I really like it looks cool"
>hesitate to tell her about it because it sounds so autistic but I tell her everything so
>"its called lunarcore, it's inspired by astronaut suits and shit, looks really cool"
never telling my gf about anything I find on /fa/ ever again, I'll just wear the shit.
yea I know, I regretted bringing it up. I actually said never mind a few times before I told her but she was being really persistent on asking me what I was going to say. Been with her for like 4 years so I have no idea why I felt so embarrassed but I've also been with her for so long to know she would laugh at me.
that's what you get for going to a job interview to host a fashion program and not thinking up a spiel on two or three of the recognizable 'trends' you could find in mainstream fashion magazines these days (normcore, something big in #menswear, and something big in women's fashion for example) and instead expecting to coast by on what /fa/ taught you and stammering 'u-uh rick o-owems rav simon p-probably what i wear'
Cool jacket, reminds me of Brett's Nostromo flight jacket from Alien
maharishi x surrender 2008 spring/summer
I know I said I would do it months ago last time we had a lunarcore thread but at some point I'm going to turn the one on the left into the one on the right.
Anyone know if Poet ever got that poem anthology he was working on published?
Or either of the names of his other two works?
I thought poet was just working on a novel?
Fuck, I wish he still posted here.
As far as I know, he's stopped posting on Unwoven as well. The only output I've seen from him in months has been through his Soundcloud.
I just wish he left so much as a pen name or something. Poet, pls come back.
There's one other place I've heard he posts, but I haven't dug for him there.
This is the last place to try to track him down/drop crumbs to his current situation, etc., though. So let's keep it to - what was the other stuff he said he was working on?
You're right. Damn. Maybe it's better that his written work remains a mystery.
But it should also be agreed upon that anyone who would find it and share it would be a pretty cool guy.
I would definitely like to read it, yeah.
Third time published could mean anything, too - the other two times could just be a brief thing in magazines, not a book. Didn't sound like he had a book out from when he was talking about the novel.
Also, oh God, how apt about the pic. I forgot about that episode somehow and I just went and watched the scene and remembered.
Could this be considered Lunarcore or is it more desert ninjacore?
Why are girls in flight suits/jump suits so appealing?
There's the online store, Musterbrand, that makes a lot of autistic gamer fashion.
There are a few pieces though, from their Starcraft and EVE Online collection, that might work well.
I have a piece of their brand. Really good quality and fit. Would cop
I too want to look lunar core, but I don't have any money.
I really couldn't tell you. I just have a folder of stuff I saw and though looked cool.
Yea it looks alright by itself but it's definitely bordering on costume territory. The bottom half especially is too over the top, and the boot tuck is... bad. I think the jacket and long sleeve are not too overdone (sleeves could be shorter) but the jacket is actually a bit ugly.
Oh, this isn't exactly lunarcore, but I think it has a slightly similar aesthetic. Maybe some of you will also find it inspiring
Plus, lunarcore for women when?
g star conway
it was on asos a long ass time ago and i copped and regretted it like fuck 2-3 months later and sold it
its probably not left anywhere
just look for a similar jacket, g-star and the greatest quality esp for the price
>tfw not wearing moon or mars camo
"vintage" nasa jackets going to be even more lulz when they close nasa completely in a few years
can't find anything that isn't awful. all black white red. no cream brown red or actual mars camo.
one of the creative types should be the first to put out mars tones
god this is cringeworthy
lunarcore done right can be worn casually, like most of spacejew's fits but there is a clear lunar theme. wearing lunar prints, Alien graphics, or just dressing up like an astronaut (poet) looks autistic and tacky. less is more people
Thought of something looking at the Julius cargoes that might be a good idea for Lunarcore
Basically it'd be a DIY version of those using Soviet GP5 bags for the cargo pockets. Local Surplus store has a fuckton of them.
Could keep an OD color throughout or dye it.
or any gasmask bag, I suppose. my GI Depot had some bags for some american gasmask, I forget which model exactly, but they were a good shape for pant pockets, I guess, albeit a bit large and perhaps stiff
also just saw this on tumblr. the colors/aggressive stance and fenders made me wonder... are cars effay? can we have lunarcore cars?
I'm totally fucking building a lunarcore/tech inspired racecar when I have money and a shop
why? because racecar
Bought this way back when they first released it…fucking lifted too much and looks weird on my arms never wore it out.
Some of their ass creed shit wasn't too bad like pic related. It's even got wool in it too.
I don't know, there's a fine line between something that isn't 'visually weak' and something that looks like an autismo cosplay outfit.
You could definitely do something more inspired with Malik's jump suit, but for every day wear or as a basic piece in a fit, I think that shirt works.
They used Arial bold for fuck's sake
Even the costume design of the game was better than that, and the costume design of the game was something that could only be pulled off by someone made of polygons and adolescent fantasies.
Yeah, but >>8376512 is bad because it is so simple.
Deus Ex is known for it's anything-but-simple fashion. Pic related, "cyber-renaissance".
I can excuse the tshirt collection, but what annoyed me more, was when they tried to pass off a plain black trenchcoat as a replica of the main character's, without even adding the signature patterning and details.
I wish it was more than just a cheap cash-in. And I agree with you, they obviously need a better designer. So many wasted opportunities.
What a faggot. What an incredibly self-righteous, preachy faggot. Did poet post that? Good riddance. Not even being edgy here. He came here, tried to change the prevailing board culture, and got BTFO like never before. That fucking bald americunt got what he deserved.
He knows enough to put himself into self-exile where he belongs. Don't try and bring him or his shitty music back here.
eh, I feel like lunarcore definitely relies on a strong piece of footwear, something that pops like a hightop or boot. I've seen those in person and I just don't think the silhouette/profile would work even though the colors are good.
Said yesterday I want to do a DIY pair of cargos with GP5 bags for the pockets, now I'm wondering what a good top would be to go with them. Thinking of making both at the same time. Want to do something original, but still inspired by this other shit. Thinking of making a longer coat, like a space frock coat.
I can;t draw for shit, but I get really neat ideas in my head, I just wish I could put them down somewhere so I could actually make them. Should probably start off with simple shit, but I kinda want to make these cargos.
I'll keep posted about them in lunarcore threads once I start. Still have to figure out how I want to do them. Was looking at the Julius cargos as inspiration, but I don't think I'll go black on them, and I'm not sure how tight I should make them. I do plan on making them from scratch, except the GP5 pouches.
Anyways, any feedback on this would be appreciated.
Knoch had an oversized parka and a japanese mailbag so he turned them into a bomber jacket.
he had another one for sale but i think it's taken already.
Yeah, might be another month or so before I even start, busy with trying to get a job and shit.
If you guys end up liking them I might be willing to make a few for sale.
Though I am amateur at this (read, never done before) so I don't expect anyone to really like them, probably will end up just being an experiment more or less.
His music is really good, his posts were above average by a longshot and you're just a jealous little nobody who probably creates nothing and just consumes consumes consumes
so glad I'm not like you
