These are the new fedora.
>implying turtlenecks can't be fashionable as fuck
Although I agree when it worn by cuck reddit types like that they look ridiculous
Which they are. I can actually picture the typical person who wears these.
>disaffected youth, or wants to appear disaffected
>wears this retro-inspired item to appear 'classy' but also 'casually carefree' and 'unique' from the awful normies
>probably has black and white posters on his wall, some foreign film posters, some paintings that he pretends to deeply associate with
>has a black backpack
>wears plain white or black shoes
>posture is slumped when taking pics for the WAYWT
>blurs his face out of pics in an 'artsy' way, or replaced it ironically with an emoji
i have round clear frames
im a STEM major.
>disaffected youth, or wants to appear disaffected
>>wears this retro-inspired item to appear 'classy' but also 'casually carefree' and 'unique' from the awful normies
clear glasses aren't really classy
>>probably has black and white posters on his wall, some foreign film posters, some paintings that he pretends to deeply associate with
i have a thrasher banner on my wall
>>has a black backpack
true, and it's a kanken
>>wears plain white or black shoes
>>posture is slumped when taking pics for the WAYWT
>>blurs his face out of pics in an 'artsy' way, or replaced it ironically with an emoji
yea cause im ugly
You can tell when losers post online
They start the post with "actually" and throw "quite" in everything.
" actually You're quite wrong, the next balance sneakers are quite attractive with my stonewashed jeans and my iPhone on belt clip and oversized polo"
MFW I just copped a pair of these style of glasses and now /fa/ is calling them fedora-core.
You're not going to get any positive responses. He's just trying to bully you for the sake of bullying. There's nothing wrong with round glasses, and most people still wear rectangle glasses.
How is that bullying anyone? I myself think those glasses look redditcore, hence why I am looking for suggestions.
It looks redditcore because you've been brainwashed into thinking that non male models wearing glasses are all nu-males, complete with a compilation of all varieties of glasses on normal look guys. What they don't realize is that what makes a nu-male is their political and social views, not the fact that they wear glasses.
What point are you trying to make here? You obviously understood what I meant from my post. Stop being a pedant.
You already know what point I'm trying to make. I'm not stopping anyone from making suggestions, it's just no one gives a shit about this thread. Don't bother responding if you don't have anything to say.
woah chill out and stop projecting there brother.
Please tell me what frames you'd recommend instead then friend? because at this point square chunky frames make me think of emos or hipsters circa 2007-10, big glasses make me think of the 80s or John Major, slim rectangle glasses make me think of soccer moms or david tennant (who looks like an ageing lesbian), aviators either make you look like a sleaze ball or a hipster (or downright don't suit most people), wireframe glasses either make you look poor or like eminem or like you want to suck gosha rubchinskiy's dick, any other style that might exist is probably too niche to suit most people or would look trendy and try-hard.
So please do tell me what you recommend beside contacts, I don't want shitty little bits of plastic resting on my eyeballs, and I like the ability to choose to put my glasses away for a bit during the day (as my eye condition is only to do with strain and focus).
tl:dr suck my dick. if you're allowed to project and base your opinions of people on the associations and prejudices you've built about certain frame styles, you need to sort your life out mate.
and yes I was being hypocritical here deliberately, just to show how dumb it really is to judge frame styles. But at this point I find it hard to see what better option there is other than a rounder frame, to not put out the kind of connotations that I listed above
Use google and get a unique pair of glasses you like
Not sure where to post this but this thread seems appropriate.
Saw a guy on the northern line, got off at Leicester Square and had these glasses on, great hair, looked like he was straight from /fa/, if you see this I just wanna say you looked great- From the seagull sat opposite
Everyone always tells me I look like Joaquin Phoenix. Do you think round frames fit this kind of face?
my eyesight is such shit that my lenses are so thick that I cant use certain frames. also, they make my eyes look tiny.
stayed away from the round lenses though and went to your standard sqaurish ray bans though
It's a pic from farfetch where they are selling the jacket in the pic, not the turtleneck, so idk exactly what it is, the jacket however is from lemaire so it might be worth checking the out
I disagree they suit most head shapes, and you look more like a straight ass when wearing square lenses.
Generally you want rounder frames for more angular faces and more angular frames for rounder faces to balance things out. The OP makes no sense, though people will wear stuff that COULD be fashionable that totally does not suit their face and piss people off like that. Same thing with the thick, black rimmed hipster glasses. The frames themselves can look good on the right person, the problem was everyone with every face type was wearing them even when it was an incredibly bad match up. That being said, neither is comparable to fedoras.
Good points, whats your opinion on me turning my ray's into black lenses?
I edited a photo to see what it would look like.
if its a bad idea talk me out of it.
Do you have a picture of your face from the front? I can't really tell a lot about your facial features from that pic, but you have a pretty suitable upper half it seems (from cheek bones up) but your cheeks and jawline seems a bit rounded. As another guy said, shaving would help. Not trying to be a dick, but losing weight would also help to make your jawline and cheekbones more pronounced. More pronounced features = more wiggle room with more rounded lenses. Oh, and avoid haircuts in the future that would make your head appear more rounded (your current cut doesn't have that affect though).
Sorry dont mean to derail this glasses thread, but here's a quick update after a shower and shave.
Thanks for the advice I actually like the look.
instead of cucking yourself by preemptively shitting on basically every frame style with dumb blanket statements, how about you try to enjoy life?
just fucking look at famous people with glasses, make mental note of the frames you like, and then sift through a few frame retailers.
i got mine from warby parker - they may be a bit of a meme, but they have a lot of unusual styles as well, and their pricing and customer service is pretty great.
I actually know a guy who wears these kinds of glasses and is a fucking die-hard libertarian. If his choice in clothing was cheaper, he would be full fedora mode. Always making "le bernie no understand economics" jokes. He also never misses an opportunity on social media to remind people that if they aren't majoring in economics then they are wasting their time in college.
Also he's a manlet. Big shocker.
Don't give a shit about them. I've been wearing them for years now. They've always gone through shitposting phases a few years ago it was hipster trash, now it's redditcuck nu-male whatever.
i don't wear these out much tho bc people make stupid assumptions like OP
Get a plain black t, black jeans, black caridgan and black vans.
Take your glasses, put them on.. now take them off and throw them away.
shit looks ridiculous man.
Smaller is more indicative.
Pic related. This is a sure shot giveaway. If you are approached by one of these, prepare to be softly evangelized about how there is no God and Venus is a beautiful planet in the sky and we're just star dust and the Catholic Church is responsible for all the wars.
what haircut should I get to look peak /fa/
I just got some rounded (they're more just rounded on the bottoms) glasses and I like them. I used to wear contacts but I stopped in college because my eyes would get blood red when I got high because of my contacts
Placed an order on these earlier today. How did I do familia?
Have to see them on. I posted in other thread, can I pull these off?
i think neckbeards would be opposed to wearing anything simply for vanity. i mean the fedorah doesn't really have a purpose but its a throwback to a different era when men dressed like men bla bla bla. see also beards, workwear, safety razor shaving usw.
clear round glasses are more of a posh thing desu.
what do you think of this for a round face type?
>sauvegarder une photo de Fred Pellerin
Vieux con, ce gars est un vaux-rien et perpetue un jargon débile que les québecois nomme une "fierté"
T'es vraiment un imbécile pour aprécier un gars comme lui. Chapeau, idiot.
Don't worry I'm sure we'll all feel the bern soon
>*tips round glasses* m'Nietzsche
Clearly just sweeping generalisations
Reminds me of this guy (?):
Ur a cutie.
Did noone get a chuckle?
I found thick rimmed rectangulars to be a much worse type of fedora these days.
And the worst part is that I got no intention to change mine.
What the fuck this is spot on. How the fuck could you be so accurate?
>have pretentious movie posters on my walls
>have those glasses
>have a few turtlenecks
>retro items and decorations
well fug mate it seems like you can't do a single thing without getting memed
>LMAO WANNABE RICH
>dress goth ninja
>LMAO U LOOK RIDICULOUS
they're only fashionable because they are in line with retro styling vibe that's on right now.
Dorky turtle necks, oversized jackets, and light wash denim. If you can't see the styling principals, you should stop posting here, and continue to let your mom pick out your clothes.
I used to wear turtlenecks everyday back in 3rd grade.
Now that shit looks like a steve jobs motherfucker.
go full atlantis guy
ooh I fucking love them
>as if round gold wireframes aren't just the next meme lol
I don't actually think those things when I see people in those glasses, I was just thinking like the guy I was replying to, what my preconceptions about each style of frames would be (as he clearly has some serious hangups about round frames.) was just trying to call op's bluff basically.
>painting out acne scars on Ps ...
got some from Umit Benan. search for the collection Opening Ceremony did when Her came out - collab with the costume designer from the movie
Ok, seeing that the guys who are hating and crying "meme/reddit/whatever" are pathetic virgins and, as such, not people, let's ignore them and focus on answering this question: what kind of glasses are decent to get now? I've been meaning to change mine and it annoyed me endlessly that people mistook me for a hipster, even if I'd been wearing those glasses for over a year before they became the hipster tool and I never dressed like one.
you should ignore the normies just how we ignore the loser itt hating :^)
but i like my round clear frames i have at the moment. they are pretty neat.
very versatile and round frames tend to work for many face shapes.
but the best with oval/oblong.
rectangular frames are boring
clubmasters have been done to death
cool shapes like
seem great as well.
i definitely think wire frames will be the next big thing in 2016 i see they are getting popular.
im not a fan of the extremely big ones
stay away from any frame that look comically large because people will question if they are even prescription.
you don't want to look like a tool that wears glasses as only a fashion statement and not for your vision.
Definetly for vision. I'm tired of lenses, they dry up my eyes, no matter how many times I use the serum.
>round clear frames
I'm not a 50 year old accountant
Reminds me of those pathetic virgins who go on /fa/ meetings, trying too hard
>stay away from any frame that look comically large
Yeah, easy to spot a tryhard
>you should ignore the normies just how we ignore the loser itt hating :^)
I get it, virgins/losers don't like to be reminded normal people are superior to them.
Nah Oliver Peoples
can you guys identify this glasses??
w2c these glasses from The Lobster?
Also, watch this movie.
This. Square/rectangular glasses have become so commonplace that it can even be hard to get anything else.
Going round is a good way to remedy this.
Although it is somewhat harder to pull (match your style) it can be a lot more unique and memorable to people around you.
And for people with bad eyesight, round glasses can hide the thickness of the lenses better than rectangular shapes, as the raw (non-cut) lenses are also round.
