Like I said in previous thread, creeper baskets came today and they're gorgeous. Probably going to sell my ramones as they only work with like one pair of pants I have and they're not really 'runway' enough for me
Rick on sale at the moment, most of it 70-80% off.
some 90% off.
cause envy. that guy is using a referral link, and the envy guy is complaining. personally, i dont care if someone else get a benefit as referral. but it seems that in this day and age of kopping online there is a huge increase in the number of envy guys complaining about referrals, fliping, and such activities. some of them are leftist scum against capitalism, so we can ignore those. the others? i dont know, some stupid sociologist kuk should study this issue. pardon my "engrish"
Sabots are GOAT
I think >>10914315 is just bothered with the repost.
I was complaining about the referral code. Not because I don't think you should use it, just that you should mention you're using one. Makes it seem like you're being disingenuous otherwise.
I've owned about 20 pairs of Rick shoes now, I'm down to 4. Thinned the collection to only what I wear. I might get some creepers this season, if the goat leather ones make it to a decent price.
My guidis still see the most wear this time of year.
Tough. In a way, my Plinth Geos fit both a and b. I realized that I never was going to wear them at a certain point, but I did have some fond memories of wearing those when I first got them. I'll probably never buy another pair of Geos to wear, but I'm sad that I sold a pair of shoes that I did want so bad at some point and then eventually bought once I doubled my income. It was a very formative time of my life that they represented to me. The fact is I didn't wear them, but I sold them for enough to buy my guidis which I will wear until they are dust. I'm ultimately glad I bought them and sold them for the geos - parts of a path you know - but at the time they were sitting unworn in my closet for a year they were huge regrets.
A little more objectively:
a) tan blistered gum sole vicious dunks
b) nothing in particular, happy where my wardrobe and finances are at
I kind of dig the laceless Geo look -- though, these still have the laces on.
I actually really like the classic or "fuccboi" geobaskets. They're what drew me into Rick, and sort of the reason I'm as rick'd out as I am these days. So I still wear mine a lot. If I ever get a second pair though, it'll be solid white deerskin.
Least favorite is the black on white or orange (obvi)
>black upper/white sole ones with white laces
That's my favorite
Which reminds me: Should I buy Geobuckets or Cargo pants first?
I have few rick tees, was kinda thinking of getting Berlin drawstrings next and after that either geos or cargos
I kinda feel like I could rock the cargo pants with some of my stuff but geos might be harder to deal with my current wardrobe.
If when I was searching for my BB short tongue geos I could've had the choice of getting BW short tongues I would've much preferred those. I agree that for the most part BW geos very rarely get pulled off well, same with dunks though and no one here seems to be shitting on them...
I actually prefer dunks in fits that are a little more streetwear than gothninja. Like stacked light wash jeans + milk dunks is a great look IMO, better than using Geos or putting the dunks with pods. But I might be in the minority on ROG.
I have sneakers that are basically adidas rip-offs of chucks which I could see working, also just white hi tops I think would work with them.
I feel like the idea of Rick cargos only work with rick footwear is too cemented on peoples heads, of course they look amazing together but the cargos can work on their own with shoes that don't stand out as much as Ricks footwear does.
Case in point, I don't think it looks bad at all, not as good synergy as with Rick footwear but I like it.
Also I see them working with black boots pretty well or just black sneakers so that they just 'flow' to the footwear nicely.
favorite rick pants with geos?
have pic related, looking to get another pair or two
Honestly just get Uniqlo ones, maybe size up a bit for slight stacking.
>tfw someone finally posts up a pair of jersey cotton pods
>they also priced em reasonably
instacop desu senpai
cant w8 4 em 2 get here
am i thinspo enough 4 rick core
Hey guys. Just got my first pair geobaskets and I'm really excited. Wanted a pair forever. Now I've got some in the mail. They're the pearl colorway which is a really beautiful color to me. The problem is that I'm not trying to wear full Rick fits. I'm really try to just put them into the clothes that I already wear instead of buying clothing around my shoes. Can I get some inspo for geobaskets that isn't based on Rick clothing? Thanks again!
B/W is much earlier to pull of with "normie" clothes but like its already said in this thread geo's arnt really pulled off that well most of the time: Pic is dunks but you get the idea
Could these work well with dick ovens
Rick desu. I've been on the slp train a few month and then realised that their pieces are basic and overpriced as fuck. I love my jeans because they are good quality but i'm glad i never bought a coat or something like this.
Rick is the future. Rick is timeless, minimal yet extreme, fragile yet masculine. Rick makes the best clothes hands down. Nothing will make you look and feel as cool as rick shit
Is there anywhere that does more basic t-shirts that still fit with the Rick look?
Unfortunately I'm not the kinda guy who can afford an entire wardrobe of Rick tees so what would you recommend to use as a budget alternative to pad out basics?
Obviously no one want's to end up looking like a cheap imitation zara ninja but bog standard H&M tier plain t-shirts just feel out of place boring.
Looking for a pair of waxed canvas ramones in sz 41. Does anyone know where to get?
>hating on shui
Just copped elongated bomber that I think will work pretty well with the rick aesthetic, breathes pretty well and it's very lightly padded so I can probably rock it all year around.
That fit is great and Shuis fits in general are fucking great
This thing has a name 'Rick' on it and I don't defend it, I think it's fucking awful
In my experience shoes are a waste of money. they cost a fortune and no matter how much you pay for sneakers they still are just sneakers
Get AF1s instead of Geos and Converse instead of Ramones. This is what i did and i'm really happy with it.
Get some nice outerwear that you can wear with your current clothing. Next maybe some pants and tees
this is not the way to go about it. af1s look like shit with rick clothing. to start off either get basics or a pair of ramones. rick outerwear sans the basic bombers doesn't really work with normie clothing.
If you want to get the rick look, absolutely positively ignore >>10919188
I'm not sure they've ever actually had Rick sneaks, judging by "sneakers are just sneakers" cuz otherwise:
>sweatpants are just sweatpants
>shirts are just shirts
>jackets are just jackets
>Don't bother with rick
Shoes are pretty crucial to the Rick look, and one of the better investment pieces he makes - they'll hold up for years. They're also the best to start with, as Geos/Ramones can be worn easily with slim black jeans and baggier shirts. In contrast, a full rick fit with regular sneakers (AF1/converse/whatever) will look wildly out of proportion in *most* scenarios. Next I'd say get a pair of pants or shorts (Pods are the most versatile + Best for a classic Rick vibe). Any Longer/baggier shirts will do, but Eventually you should build up a stock of a few of his drapey tees for layering. If you can't afford a Rick Jacket yet, get a slim black bomber from anywhere to hold you over until you make that leap.
Yeah, Rick denim is nice but I don't usually include it in a "starting off" type guide because it's not as crucial to the look. I get by with some double black jeans from my raw denim days
Oh nice I thought that might be you. You do well with the converse here but I can't see it carrying well with much besides those pants.
Not dude who said garbage fits but other dude who said it wouldn't work: >>10911336
I find it weird that there seems to be a consensus in these threads that Rick denim is worth it. It is, and always has been shit and there are lots more options for less. Look into Julius (esp. knit denims) or Boris for good jeans. For slightly above budget, check out Acne and APC. For budget, check out H&M, they make great jeans, if you don't care about ethics (regarding childworkers).
desu if i didn't have much money and wanted to wear rick i would cop ramones and a gimp hoodie but that's just me
The two worst ends of the spectrum. I know the look of H&M jeans, it isn't good. Denim is visibly shite, especially after like a month of wearing. Please don't recommend to anyone.
Pretty sure it's just USPS delivery
No pair of shoes will remain pristine after 4 years. However, Leather has the potential to last ages (8+ year old dunks still out there) if you treat it well, and will last through any amount of physical effort etc. They're definitely the best made shoes I've ever had, and have taken much heavier beatings than anything save my work boots and shown no signs of giving in. After about 4 years, depending on how hard you wear them, you may have put a new layer on the sole.
Rick owens soles are not as good as these. They aren't made out of one solid piece of rubber but they have a ribbed bottom and a thin sole. the inside of the sole is hollowed out so they will have to be replaced after maybe a year of wear if not earlier. This was my experience with Geobaskets
Are there any passable yet less expensive brands that emulate Rick's avant garde/gothninja type aesthetic? I want to save up for Rick pieces sometime, but I want to try out that sort of look for a while first to make sure I won't be wasting my money.
>inb4 just buy Rick
We should sticky this/general where to start questions.
Start with Rick shoes and whatever cheap black oversized stuff you have (Get some Silent Damir Doma or DRKSHDW on sale if possible). If you like it enough to pursue it into getting fully Rick'd out you'll look back at your first few fits and laugh, but feel good about how far you've come.
a good rule of thumb is that you can get away with one basic piece. either top, bottom or shoes
I really want to get into the Rick style, and I've seen some nice fits round here. However, I live in the southeast US, so it's fairly hot a good portion of the year. Anyone got some nice hot weather Rick fits?
springblades are almost impossible to pull off, especially the boots.
But the photograph isn't that way.
Imagine Rick Owens, except with H&M designs and fabrics instead? There's no point...
I think he means jeans :)
I don't like the springblades myself. Probably my least favorite out of the Adidas collab sneakers so far.
It's a Rick wallet isn't it? The gawd himself wears his like that.
Talk shit post fit you europoor, noguns, fat, manlet. You probably don't even own any rick ;)
Kinda, old drkshdw tag tied to my old ass wallet
>Talk shit post fit you europoor, noguns, fat, manlet.
>post pic of self with gun
Fuck me some people really never leave high school do they?
The second hand embarrassment is too much to take.
odds are i have more rick than you, or a at least in the same range :)
having the rick tag hanging out of you pants just lets everyone know youre a dummy
not a fan of the darkshadow tags desu, i tuck them in whenever possible
what is /rog/'s opinion on boot soles multilaces? can they be worn in place of ramones in fits?
You both look stupid. If I saw you in public, I'd openly laugh at you.
As much as I love the soft, broken in look of my geobaskets - every time I look at a picture of new ones I get nostalgic for when they were brand new and held that perfect silhouette so well. I keep getting the itch to buy a new pair just to feel that again.
I guess what I'm saying is that I finally relate to my mother for feeling sad when I moved out to go to college.
opinions on cargobaskets? anyone have any fits?
What's the sizing like on level tees? I'm 180cm and skinny, will an XS fit nicely? Also is USD170 a decent price for a brand new shirt?
Pic related, it's the tag from the seller.
xs should be fine, for future reference, measurements are a better size indicator than 'skinny'.
also 170 is like retail for a shirt, look for sales for a better deal.
normal level shirts arent hard to come by so id reccomend you hold out for a better price. look >100 for the average tshirt, ive gotten a few from retail under 70 so keep an eye out
level just means the shoulder seams are pushed forward to collarbone length as >>10920666 said
Yeah that's what I feel after seeing pictures. That's why I'm a bit hesitant on buying. If it was double layer I'd buy in a heartbeat.
Still updating this every so often, and slowly making the bare bones of a Leather jacket guide but that is going to be my long term thing - its nowhere near finished yet.
I don't want to overload the Drive with a load of useless stuff people would never read, but I was thinking about a basic legit checking FAQ as these threads tend to get spammed quite frequently.
I'm 182-185 (I was measure last time when I was a teenager dunno how tall I am exactly) and honestly M is the most comfortable for me in Rick tops, pretty skinny as well.
I'd say go for S, I can rock S stuff as well but M just feels better.
Me too, I think I could sell mainline for higher price
But yeah, mainline double layers have longer sleeves which I like, though the level detail is something I like on DRKSHDW ones
hey, not that anon but I saw that on Grailed... if I'm generally a true size M in tops would that shirt just be a sausage casing? I've only had experience with size M Rick shirts and they fit me pretty tight already.
>I've only had experience with size M Rick shirts and they fit me pretty tight already.
I usually wear M in tops but the S fits me. It's supposed to hug your body a bit so you get the effect.
I have a 'regular' rick tee in M and both fit me. The sleeves on the double layer are really short though but that looks like it's part of the design.
I like to think that anyone can pull of rick, regardless of height/weight/age. You just have to be smart about it and really pay attention to what you're doing, otherwise you wind up looking like mid-life-crisis-Pee-Wee-dad-toddler.
It's just a very incohesive outfit. All 3 items are Rick, but I don't feel like any of them are meshing well together. You have this slim, draped shirt, these big wide shorts, then dramatically smaller, round ramones. It's all very confusing.
I see them referred to as "sailboat" geobaskets a lot, but I'm not sure of the official name. They're called "turbobaskets" in the really tall iterations.
I agree with this a lot, I probably have a similar build to that guy but I wouldn't dare put together a fit like that - I probably wouldn't even touch the wide shorts, but if I did it would have to be with chunkier shoes and a one size tee at least.
anyone have a list of brands that go well with Rick?
anything lower-end, obviously cant ball out 100% of the time but i just want a simple, versatile, small wardrobe. My closet is stupid rn
Yeah I wear those in M
I don't have camera though so I can't post comparison pics unfortunately, my friend took those pics for me.
But sure hit me up if you want more details or want to ask questions or anything.
Lost and found (rooms)
Damir Doma (silent)
Boris B Saberi (11)
Primordial is Primitive
Lumen et umbra
a diciannoveventitre (a1923)
the viridi anne
Can't think of any lower end brands atm.
I like these alot, they remind me alot of other leather products from people like BBS, Poell, and Guidi. I never really like the bright leathers from them but they are honestly really nice when pulled off well. These Geos kind of fall under that same cstegory, too bad the only people who will be buying them is rich Asians and rappers trying to flex.
I think the chrome is the best looking "weird" geo color. Works really well in pale/spacey fits. Really easy to fuck up though, and not very good for a traditional Rick aesthetic.
Is he using a referral? Maybe he would be interested in convincing me to buy this, to get in on that extra cash. I'm already considering it, I just need that extra push.
This actually looks really cool with the chucks, unlike that other rick fit with chucks that everyone was loving, that was shit
Only thing I'd suggest is pulling the socks up so that there's no break in the black or whatever
fair enough. i just copied the list from a previous post. i have not taken a close look at poell's work yet so i'll take your word for it!
thanks for sharing!
No Rick fit is complete without carne asada fries and a punchable face.
I actually have a full head o' hair I just buzz it sorry m8
Donttalk is flooding my insta but damn the latest shots are really great. Super consistent
Seven, also got a UC long sleeve, both for under 200 bucks
I'm soooo sorry about that. My partner does our editorials and Instagram. I don't know what the fuck he was doing, I just woke up to that haha.
The jacket in that picture is for sale on my grailed. You guys should buy it.
The scuba is long gone. That was the most luxurious leather I've had to date. Fully cupro lined (not even cupro blend) and those flat island pulls... Man.
Yeah I copped a pair of seven too man! I always get hyped when seven sends me an email saying sales. And I love buying off Raoul, really nice dude.
I wasn't sure what size to get though, it's a sizing I've never seem before so I just got size 2
You'd literally have to be wearing full drape to pull these off, they almost have a fin-like effect to them.
The springblades don't seem like they'd be worth it unless on clearance. The BB and BW look cool in person though.
could someone hook me up with a LC?
Easy ways to tell:
-The square imprint on the tongue isn't on the reps.
-The distance the sole goes up the nose of the shoe is higher than reps.
-The reflective material on the back has the proper grain.
Copped. Enjoy the referral money, friend.
Returns aren't accepted, but they're lenient about their return policy and will allow exceptions.
how tall should somebody be to wear the taller RO releases, like cargos, ramone boots..
or does that literally not matter, is fit more important.
I havent seen any pictures where peoples height has made RO look bad, but its totally possible I only ever see tall people wearing RO, i just dont know
this guy is short and doesnt look bad, he is like 5'6 no?
Here's another shot with a similar fit from ssense.
how do vegan ramones hold up over time? I'm worried about the toe cap less toe box holing over time
I really fucked with SLP from the time Hedi became the creative director to about F/W 2014
Too many rehashes of the same shit from previous seasons, too many basic ass over priced pieces with only decent quality. His women's collection is even worse when it comes to this.
I like Hedi as a designer, I really do. But there are only so many times you can put out "ripped jeans, leather jackets, chelsea boots, and maybe those h10s if ur a hypebeast" before it gets old.
I understand you can only go so far with the whole "rock and roll" aesthetic but I feel like he's just half assing his collections and counting his money until he's out of the YSL camp. Pieces like the bikers (you know the ones I'm talking about) showcased how you can still be creative while fitting into that look. And he hasn't made a piece that's had that effect on me in a few seasons now.
