I just bought this baby in this same exact color. Its soooo comfortable (its gusseted!)! Like I swear. The problem is I dont have any shoes to match it with. As I said with OP I usually wear earth colors.

I really dont want to buy hiking boots just for one trip. I dont want to be the "outdoorsy" guy. Its really the fabric and the texture that is difficult to match. Any tips?

Dude. I am 6'3" in a foreign land where the people are usually 5'3" - 5'8" and at least a couple of shades darker than I am. I already stick out like a sore thumb.

I lived in SEA until recently. Shorts (maybe light chinos) and t-shirts all the way anon. Also buy some heavy duty rainwear. Jackets are a no go unless indoors.

If you wanna go tech, get some lightweight stretch fabrics that breathe well. Outlier comes to mind. You could probably wear their oxford their as the shit is light as fuck.

I've hiked there a lot and the most we wear is some jeans, shirt, and some boots. Nothing heavy. Jackets are barely used.

Avoid urban areas unless you wanna get mugged or for the local women. Just make sure they are women though.
